I might actually have to go Plant/ ; between Seeds and a proc'ed Carrion Creepers... looks too interesting to pass up; I think I have one that I put on hold while 50ing a Brute.
-
lol, coronaries... I'm kinda leaning away from Ice being that I've 50'ed one and have and Ice/Elec that I'm toying with.
I'll take a peek at Grav, see what it's got... -
I'm rolling a /Fire dom for my next outing.
Between it and the GW Patron pool, I'm getting 2 damage buffs and 2 endurance AoEs... now I just gotta figure out my primary... -

Frankly, I like the trilogy system.
[/ QUOTE ]
A trilogy is a set of three works that are connected and can be seen either as a single work or three individual works.
If each piece can't be seen as a single work, then it's not a trilogy, it's just a Part or Chapter of an unfinished work.
For it to be a true trilogy you have to make it stand on it's own. I can't tell about your arc as I myself have not played it, but this is an offense I see a lot lately. Many seem to think "trilogies are cool" and go out and make 3 chapters that can't stand on their own and try to pass it as a Trilogy. Although not as annoying as one-shots that become successful and suddenly the author claims he always had a trilogy in mind, though... but now I'm derailing so I'll stop.

minor nitpick: 65% effectiveness is for +3s; it's 80% for +2.
As for -recharge... it's nice, but how effective Weave is going to be will depend on how much extra defense you have from other sources. Defense stacks on itself nicely, while hitting the -75% recharge isn't all that hard, really. You can do that just with your single target chain.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not too much sustained Def available for Doms - I was looking at a little less than 22% ranged (my top Def score) from CJ, Weave, Pounding Slugfest slotting, LotG slotting... then a 60 sec +50% from Demonic + a smidgin ToHit Debuff mod from BIB.
For Resis; a sustained 55% S/L + a 60 sec burst of +30%.
Single Target -Recharge I wasn't to worried about; more concerned with [tackling] larger mobs (as opposed to more powerful mobs).
Ice Slick does [[great] for mob control, I know it doesn't add to -Rech]
AA does great but I currently have a ton of toggles and a heavy END chain
and Water Spout isn't doing too bad
...all against normal canon mobs... but now, I want to be able to pit her against the likes of AE MM mobs. -

Well, then that's a different story comparing two actual powers.
Shiver on a Dominator gives, base, a 65% Recharge Debuff.
Weave, on the other hand, provides a 4.25% Defense Buff.
Against even-level creatures, using a single 4 second recharge attack, the Defense Buff from weave will lessen damage by about 8.5% on average.
The recharge debuff, on the other hand, will take that 4 second attack to 11.43 seconds. That is, recharge debuffs give a post-mitigation value basically equivalent to the actual recharge debuff value, against even-level enemies.
Now, let's take a +2 enemy, where effects work at 65% value (I think). Against this enemy, your Defense value still gives about 8.5% damage mitigation. Shiver, against this enemy, is providing a 42.25% Recharge debuff, and is therefore still better.
[/ QUOTE ]
Will that stack with my other sources of -Rehcarge; Artic Air and the like?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes
[/ QUOTE ]
Up to a point. I think, and maybe wrong on this, that the Recharge floor is 25% (making powers take 4 times longer to recharge). Meaning that you can stack up to 75% Recharge debuff on the enemies before it stops stacking.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or does it continue to stack but hit it's active floor relative to any-rech debuffs the target may have? -

Apples.. meet oranges.
Every powerset has pros and cons. Every type of foe has it's pros and cons too.
Each character will be more/less effective depending on the foes he/she is fighting.
-Recharge will depend which group you are fighting too.

That's a given on any powers vs. critter discussion; yet we still have those discussions.
I'm just looking for generic numbers, I suppose.
I'm asking primarily for my Ice/Ice Dom; it boils down to Shiver vs. Weave.
I know some would argue that any Def is better than no Def, however, my opinion is that low Def numbers + no -Def resis might not be all cracked up to what some may think; especially red-side.
If I end up dropping Weave, it would also affect how I have a few other slotted-for-Def powers; so I wouldn't just be losing the 6.5%.
However, I would be keeping Tough and Shark Skin; it seems that -Recharge might synergize with Res better but I could be wrong... maybe it works better with Def?
A few basic overviews/insights about how well -Recharge fits into the mitigation game would be helpful. -
There's been plenty of conversation about Defense vs. Resistance. I would be interested in hearing your opinions on how effective max -Recharge fares as mitigation (post Alpha); as compared to both +Def (w/o -Def Res) and +Res.

1. When does Water Spout make proc checks?
2. I was reading earlier that the FF proc in pets affected the pet when proc'ed (except when the pet is first summoned; then it affects the caster); does this hold true with Water Spout
3. In the detailed info, it lists that WS has a 0.00% chance to do a Mag Fear 10... ??? (How does that work?)
Thanks in advance for your responses. -
Now yall did it, every time I look at that banner now, I'm thinking he's going for a leisurely yank on a long chain (or he's pretending to).
-
I was told that those type of procs affect the caster...

Thanks, everyone, for the replies thus far.

Right, you block the name and you will never get another email from that global. (well until your ignore list gets full). So to get around that, another copy of the game is purchased. This means more revenue for the makers of the game if they let it continue.
On the flip side, they would have to dedicate dev time (=money) to make it so we would not have to look at any more spam emails ever. The result of spending this money would be less revenue from the RMT spammers. Not exactly something high on their priority list.

ah, I get what you're saying now, lol -
Does not having SuSp's stealth on your SiSp toon become an issue for you?
-
Up until this point, I've been using both but now I'm considering dropping Super Speed and just going with Siphon Speed as my Travel Power (+CJ and Hurdle).
Pros? Cons?
(and is there a stated reason that Siphon Speed doesn't take Running or Universal Travel enhancements [even though Speed Boost does]?) -

Wow, I have to say that this makes me a bit chaffed. I don't get how there has not been a nasty memo about this like it was for other things not being used as intended.
No worries, I now feel no pain with feeling that he needs to shove both of those memos up his keyster. Carry on.

That's part of the reason I suggested that all IO sets (except Purple) be available as PvP drops. As it stands now, the pool (although set for random drops) is waaay to shallow. This lack encourages farming in the same manner as if a specific drop pool was applied to a specific enemy group or rank.
It's also part of the reason I made the secondary suggestion of having all IO sets have both PvE and PvP effects.
The primary reason was the just the initial, sheer (IMO) exclusionary nature of a reward...
[But there probably wasn't any hostility from him being that PvPers are an extreme minority compared to the rest of the playerbase and the reward itself doesn't have the same impact as Powerleveling/PowerFarming at any level; no channel spams, email spams or massively long lines to PvP Farm in lieu of other content] -

So where does the guy that randomly runs around in PvE buffing other players fit in?
[/ QUOTE ]Anywhere he wants, so long as it's not near me.
Technically, he's a Griefer, because he's reducing some people's enjoyment of the game. But he probably thinks he's being helpful, so I'd more likely just call him a Noing.

I do like the Tarot Card buffers; the others... not so much. -
There's really no risk in Arena for anything, actually... getting damage/healing badges, gladiator badges, PvP rewards...
But to be fair, on some servers (or even at certain times of the day), the PvP zones are just about as 'risk-free' as the Arena.
Risk [in the zones] can also be manipulated by utilizing appropriate organization with some being as legitimate as scheduled 'PvP Events'. [We've even see risk be manipulated in the form of 'gank squads'; a big enough squad in a zone can pretty much do what they want without interference.] -
So where does the guy that randomly runs around in PvE buffing other players fit in?

If you're doing it for your SG (and your SG has enough mates for some 3+ vs 3+ action), make an Arena night of it. Between 6 of you, you should be able to pull more drops for everybody than you trying to go it alone.
If you have to go it alone, cut your time a smidgit by popping a red or two (maybe dropping you down to six or seven hits instead of eight)...
Or use whatever +recharge powers you have -
You know, I tried to find regular Arena matches to try and get PvP IOs but I had no takers
