Quote:Known issue and unfortunately working as intended. If you have 'mail' you can't deliver, you can't deliver. Dismiss it for another Tip, they drop often enough. As a hero I have run into two of them now that cannot be completed depending on your choice. One sends me to Sharks and the other to Grandville. What the. If I can't complete both choices then why am I given both choices???
Rogues and Vigilantes rarely have that problem, though. -
Quote:Yes.I believe that when Zombie Man mentions completing the mission, he means completing both the first mission and the second mission where you need the help of the opposite alignment. After you finish both of those missions, then Scratch/Ganymede will offer the mission to talk to DJ Zero.
To get the Badge, you had to do Ganymede's two-mission arc with a villain helping, then help a Villain with Scratch's arc.
To get attuned, you have to do Ganymede's two-mission arc with a villain helping, then go back to Ganymede for the mission to talk to DJ Zero to become attuned to Valentine Tips. -

And the three for Spring Fling done. 1309.
Bring on I22! -
Quote:The Devs knew that would happen and figured dropping and getting new ones was easy enough.Hey, you know what would have made this event better?
IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO DROP MISSIONS BECAUSE OF MY ALIGNMENT.
My villain character has gotten letters that can only be delivered to Skyway or Atlas.
Knowing this, I thought I outsmarted the system by turning Vigilante in advance, thus, being able to travel to both 'sides'.
And then I got two deliveries to Fort Trident (both BOTTLER and the Trash Can)... and I couldn't get in. Only full Heroes can. D'OH.
And now... the Ski Chalet is open. I presume probably to keep the chalet door from winding up being a mission door for Duncan or Hawk. -
Like I said, I've done it on Live this year.
I think the GMs are in Pocket D for the other bug: The chalet door appearing as a mission door. -
I've done it several times on Beta and Live this year without that bug popping up.
-
And don't forget when you finish that mission from Scratch or Ganymede:
1. You don't have to participate in the opposite alignment mission again, like you did for the badge.
2. Go back to Scratch or Ganymede and ask for another mission. They'll send to to DJ Zero for attunement to Valentine Tips. -
Speaking of uncanny valley. CoH already has highly photorealistic faces that everyone accepts (well, at least, they did for years until pointed out, at which time some people suddenly have issues with them <sigh>) which *do not* fall into the uncanny valley. They were introduced in CoV for the Luddites, Scrapyarders, CoV Family, Gold Brickers, and Arachnos. Then they stopped being used for a while. When I pointed them out to Noble Savage for Player use, all of a sudden, they started to be used again for NPCs, such as the Praetorian Police (the humans, anyway). But still, not for players.
What makes them successful compared to the waxy Normal Mapped faces is that they're not waxy or shiny, but very flat matte. And they have a bit of a graininess and uneven shading to them that resembles human skin rather than mannequins.
Come on, Paragon Studios. You know that sooner or later you *will* release these for players. It's inevitable. Please make it sooner than later.
To wit...
Newer ones v. old low rez...

Quote:1. Well, there is no Ferry in Independence Port. That's the Smuggler Ship that goes among IP, Striga, and Talos. It'd be nice if, at the least, the IP ferry sent you to PI too, not just the Talos one.
2. They could put a Ferry in IP if they wanted to.
3. Ideally, they could just put the PI Ferry on the Tram Line and call it a Transfer. After all, how many times do we jump into a truck or boat and exit inside a mission which could be an office building or sewers on the 'other side' of the city divide? We presume we took all the connecting transfer vehicles to get there. There's no reason we couldn't get on the Tram in Steel and get off the Ferry in PI and assume that we got off in Talos, took a bus to the Ferry there, and wound up in PI. -
Fixed link. They had to reupload the video which broke the link.

Thanks for finding the quote.
So, Business Manager. Who seems to call the shots for the sales. And who makes it clear he's not Marketing. So... Production? Or a new category?
Then Zwill makes it clear that Marketing is calling the shots, which would exclude Ghost Falcon.
We've been around this maypole before: Devs blame Marketing, Marketing says it's Production. Production says it's a group decision with everyone having input.
All I know is this: Whoever's controlling the content of Paragon Market is making decisions that they wed themselves to such that player feedback from Beta, which is where they're previewing these items supposedly for feedback, is going unheeded and there is no dialogue. Then, when it goes Live and there is player pushback, there is simply rationalizations given with no clear intent for gauging the desires of the players or adjusting course.
Content, and art direction, and game mechanics all benefit from being responsive to players. But apparently, not the Paragon Market.
I'm becoming less and less inclined to test Market items and give feedback and point out bugs if that feedback doesn't also apply to the marketing of those items. And consequently, I'm becoming less and less inclined to buy things so awfully packaged, priced, and marketed. -
Quote:So... Ghost Falcon is Marketing now? Because last time he was the one taking point for deciding how things were bundled and marketed and their timing. It's perfectly understandable to be disappointed by this and I'll certainly talk to Marketing/Business about our current strategy (please stop blaming production as this isn't their decision).
And Marketing doesn't answer to Production? -
So, twice now, I had a toon sitting in Beta and when I alt-tabbed to the forums to post, that toon auto-logged out to the log-in screen. Which I forgot about. Then, when I saw that Beta was patched, I ran the NCLauncher to patch up forgetting that the Beta client was still running. That leads to a crash. Closing everything out and repatching leads to a crash. Repairing then leads to a virtual re-download of all the files.
So, please change the NCLauncher to not allow patching on a running client. Thanks. -

Quote:There *can* be if you want: Overlay Zone Names to Telepad Beacons Cende [I16].Nice layout Zombie Man!
Oh if only there -was- text on the beacons. Villain-side tends to be darker and more difficult to distinquish one from the next.
That's not a photoshopped screencap. -
From early Beta, so, maybe some things were changed:
-
Maybe from a previous team the AV got a Stealth recipe drop.

Quote:Now... that's a good point.Well now that we have side switching and some people maintaining grey alignments, earlier access to the Midnighter's Club is useful for the purpose of moving between zones as it has different connection points from the RWZ.
With side switching, a level 20 Villain can go Hero, get access to the MC, go back to Villain, and while doing Wade's arc can say, "Hey, bub, I *am* a member of the MC already."
Wade's arc needs to be rewritten... unless is already has... anyone with a level 20-29 Villain wanna go Hero and back and then take Wades arc and see what happens? -
Quote:Make absolutely sure it's the same character. If it is, then send in a Customer Service ticket to get the Hero Merits due you and so they know this bug exists.Yesterday I took a character I'd never taken on the SSA, and did parts one through three. For each part I took a Hero Merit.
Today I took the same character to do parts four and five. For Four, the Hero merit was locked out citing that I couldn't take it for a repeated run(despite not having done it before), so I took 10 incarnate threads. Part five wouldn't allow the Hero Merit or threads.
Why does it lock out rewards for episode you've never done one day, but allows it the day before? There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason why the rewards lock out. -
That still doesn't solve the problem that Wade's arc is meant to get someone who is not a member in. To get villains into the MC before 30, they'd have to rewrite Wade's arc. That's a bit of effort for no real reason except to access the club simply because players want to. You still can't get to Cimerora until you're 35.
