  1. Which is weird because that's unlike the other "go talk to this contact who may or may not have stuff to give you" missions. It's weird that they're not just outright droppable.

Thing was with that, is *the security chief was for a zone I wasn't anywhere near*, and I didn't feel like going there. Just like with Wincott, it operates visibly like everything else, but then just ... doesn't.

whereas with heroes the contact chain continues throughout their career from zone to zone to zone to zone to zone and back to the other zone and then another zone.

    Fixed that up for ya.
  3. Actually last night, I hit what MUST be a bug, or else a serious flaw in the mission selection process.

Merisel Velanzuela suggests I go to the Eden Security Chief. (Merisel is on the far west side of Brickstown, in case you've forgotten. Eden is on the far south side of Founders Falls.)

I suggest to her that she is smoking crack, why not give me a real mission instead? So I drop the mission.

And instantly in my nav bar is "defeat 35 Devouring Earth in Eden".

?!?! Say what?! Yeah so I bugged that. I was not planning on GOING there, at all, but wound up wandering through anyway and dying (it's embarrassing to die because of all the Swarms, you know?) and quitting.

So the mission selection setup might be borked for certain contacts, just... be aware of that.
  4. If the "City Vault" had come online, perhaps that'd be about the only way I'd say this would be feasable. However, that project has long been scrapped because it just didn't do what they wanted it to do. I'm not certain of the specifics but it just wasn't working. I doubt that you'd be able to get any success in these suggestions, since they seem extremely like the City Vault would have been.

    Fixed that for you.
  6. ... Yes, the screenshots and fan art area *is* the appropriate place to ask for "screenshots". You should try it.
  7. Organizing a Hami raid on any server requires a lot more preparation time than standing around using broadcast... Broadcast is good for those folks who may not have known about it the hour of the event, and say "hey I have a couple hours to blow let's do this".

Hami Os are not "all that" any more either. They're far outshined by io sets, and since they're random drops anyway you just never even know that what you're going to get is going to be useful to you.

So I'm not really clear on the complaint here... People dont' know that there is a "hami raid" concept, I can understand that, were you *broadcasting in Atlas* or in *PI or FF*?

People who claim that a tauntless tank is better than one that has taunt are insane. Particularly if you're gonna do a hami raid, you MUST have at least A taunter. I didn't have taunt on MY tank for a long time *because I solo* and didn't need it for team play. I know some people who DO have tauntless tanks and have turned it into an artform, but they're the only players I would trust to run a group event with, on a toon like that.

... So jot on down to the server forums, and poke around to see when hami might be good. But I don't really like doing them, if they'd change it back to the old way I would even try *leading* one, I did so many way back when with my first 50. But they changed it just about the time my 2nd 50 came up, and she only has maybe 1 HO on her for that reason. Hami raids aren't as fun for me as they once were and the pitiful whining about them in some channels when it's brought up leads me to believe a LOT of people don't like the new raids either.

You felt heroic engaging in a competitive sport of killing people without consequence?

    Low standards, man.

  9. I ran the arc and really enjoyed it! But her mailbox is still full, so my comment didn't get sent

    >_> I realized recently while watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, why I don't like Tennant as Who....

Because he's EVIL Barty Crouch Jr. EVIL EVIL EVIL!
  10. They keep supporting the market, they continue to be an influence sink, and yes - generous if you consider they didn't have to allow it *at all*.

That dude is HARDCORE. He makes his own freaking tortillas, and that is really incredible.
  13. Well, what about a progression of "hack" to "ultra spiffy" quality armor? More and more sleek design, indicating their travel through the levels with more and more respect and influence to afford to improve on the original.

Or, the normal model, then "down time" - surely he doesn't wear the armor *all the time*? Heck my peacebringer's one costume was her 'you caught me just as I finished working out' outfit with legwarmers and a headband and little shorts. Maybe he has a workout outfit. Or, does he have a day job? An alternate identity?

Oooh, or what about his "I'm doing Public Relations today" maybe with a different head (I'm assuming helmet, obviously it'd be moot without one) that shows his face to smile for cameras/meet people.

Also the passage of time - maybe have his original face, but then in later costumes have an older one?
  14. You made something that had "farm" in the title, and you're complaining that someone tagged it as such?

    Yeah. Welcome back to reality.

    Eggs

I like sunny-side up fried that are still runny, because I love dipping toast or waffles in the yolk.

I also love hard boiled eggs.

If I could eat milk any more, I'd still be making omlettes with cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, salsa, and cut up sausages. MMMM. Unfortunately fake sour cream and fake cheese just don't cook the same as the real thing, so I don't try.
  16. Freedom will start a fire in the server rack, you mean...
  17. No, no I'm gonna put my influence on "I can't get in to FREEDOM this weekend! WAAAAAH!" threads for both Rikti and 2x Weekend. After that, 50s.

The rikti invasions MIGHT (with luck) draw some of those AE babies out into the zone to combat a real threat. Maybe then... they might notice that there are other doors to explore...

    I know, it's a stretch.
  18. One or two seem to have, but by and large it's "do that short arc and head back to the paper".
  19. Yeah it's a completely different system since there were already plenty of contact trees in place on Hero side before Villains came out.

I like the progression of contacts better in Hero, but I really, really prefer the 'stay in one zone' of Villains.
  20. The location where my office was when I could afford it, looked EXACTLY like the Independence Port warehouse area. Only difference: there's a canyon next to it, instead of a water port.

The environments in this game don't do it for me at all. Bland colors, flat low res textures, overly-simplistic geometry, weak effects, enemies doing jack all, further bogged down with severely lacking audio and a pervasive feeling of emptiness (like Skyway's empty highways). Not to mention those garish war walls.

Most mission maps are plain, too.

It's really the worst part of the game.

Maybe you should get a new video card and change your graphics up a bit. Because I'm not seeing what you just described...
  22. Sort of. Some parts of the Hollows were MEANT to be, and bits of other zones. Perhaps it's that everyone in this area aside from Croatoa lives in apartments and high rises. Or they're actually all living in terror stuffed inside the war walls.

I actually had a dream about that, once... people living in the spaces in the war walls....
  23. Yeah definitely pick a global channel or two - go down to the server forum and check around for a thread on that. You will be amazed at the conversations you find in some

Welcome to the game, and I'm SO glad you're enjoying the Hollows - if you're interested in one particular way of scooting around the game and leveling up in a certain order try this:

You've done the Hollows (or will soon finish - I recommend doing all the contacts in order) you'll get to around level 15-16.

At that point, head over to Faultline. Now, it's a little different there, as some of the story arcs you'll encounter may have a bit of a break in levels. But basically, 16-20ish at Faultline.

Head over to Striga! It's another 'hazard zone' with its own shortish set of contact arcs. This will generally get you from around 20ish to 25-26ish.

CROATOA! And then... well, there's also the Midnighter's arc, the Rikti War Zone, and plenty of other stuff just in the main zones.

But sometimes it's fun to completely bypass the "standard zones" and head through all the hazard zones instead. A benefit to this on hero-side is that those newer zones and upgraded ones (faultline was upgraded and then the Hollows too) have more coherent story arcs, as well as better storytelling in general. Plus, with those zones, you STAY in the zone for a while. With standard contacts, you may find yourself run ragged crossing all manner of zones for missions.
