Quote:I have accepted that the incarnate system is just not for every character I have, that or I have to be very creative in the story of why they have these things. That's no fun. Heck, that's downright uninteresting. How interesting would Batman be if he's doing his kung fu and all and suddenly zaps you with rainbow colored lasers out of nowhere? It doesn't fit. It's straightjacketing you into a narrow concept, which is against what this game is supposed to be about. Also, okay, you've got "the power of the gods!"
... and you just got beat up by Malta. Y'know, the totally unpowered guys with guns? Yup, that Demigodhood is going real far, ain't it? :P
Seriously though. I really hope the devs include some stuff that's usable by the people that like to play low-powered characters and tech-users. And it could still feel powerful! Imagine, say, throwing out twenty shurikens in less than a second! Or a trick arrow that ricochets around and hits everyone in the target area! Or whatever. Be creative, but don't just make us shoot lasers and ice and whatnot. -
72 months for me, I just love the game. The costume creator is a creative outlet for me, and the game play is relaxing, or challenging depending on what I want. The great community helps also.

The police station would of had one also. Also if it had a gravity fed water supply (still pretty common in the south), then it would have worked.
-
Feed did a good job explaining the hunger. They zombies needed flesh to convert into more of the virus to spread.

[QUOTE=Mixlplick;3296161]Quote:Not true, Supernatural the show has smart people, and it still manages scary at times. There's newb and then there's just plain stupid.
You get better scares with the stupid. The stupid ratchets the tension up in the audience, priming them for delicious jolts of pure horror! If everybody were smart, it would be one boring series filled with people holed up in houses talking at each other very quietly.
I had great fun watching this. We've made a standing date with our friends to catch it every Sunday night. -
Quote:I think Shane just wanted one thing in that escape. Rick had Keys to get in, I would guess that people just couldn't get in, they wanted to still obey the law, or the National Guard rushed them out.I was wondering why the police station wasn't ransacked, either by locals looking for guns, or by Shane when he skipped town with Rick's family.
Still, hot water, electricity, guns and ammo, and all in a fortress. Why would they leave, for that mater I am not sure why Rick wouldn't return when/if he locates his family. -
After the Dawn of the Dead remake I wasn't sure I would ever find the slow Zombie Frightening again. The way TWD did it was great. I love the concept of the hoard.
I picked up a Zombie novel not long ago called Feed that also did it extremely well.
I noticed though that they do seem to have more speed, and are capable of quick bursts if they are well fed. I am not sure if this is by design, or just actor excitement.
There is some great Zombie literature out there other than just TWD. WWZ, Zombie Zurvival guide, Feed, and Xombies come to mind right off the bat.
I am a huge Zombie fan though, and can admit I may enjoy all of those more than others may.
There is something that baffles me. That police station (if any thing like the ones I have seen, and as a Paramedic I saw more than I wanted) was built like a fortress. I am not sure why the Jones family didn't just set up there. I would have.
In my plans there is a National Guard depot right down the road. There first thing, with my copy of the survival guide. If it is full of stupid people I would head up the mountains. I live in western NC, so there are plenty to choose from. -
I was extremely impressed. I read the comics to a point, and I was not sure that the Human Drama could be done as well as in print... I was dead wrong. I will not be missing an episode.
Also to those who are concerned with the actions of some of those in the show. These are mundane people who may have never seen a zombie movie, much less read Max Brooks amazing Zombie Survival guide.
I will admit, I went to bed last night thinking about how to Zombie Proof my home. -
I like this one.
I have to agree these rules are a bit overbearing. You need to decide if you still want this to be a community or not. As they stand, the rules are tearing down the community, for the sake of what I am unsure.
There are other games that I have tried, but the community always pales in comparison to the CoX community. I fear that the tyrannical policies being pushed will damage that aspect for many people.
I also find it odd that the names of other games are more heavily monitored than some curse words, or personal attacks on these boards. I find that to be an odd priority to have. -
Quote:If this is true, I will be massively pleased with the incarnate system, and the new TFs.
the Incarnate system, players will embark on the path that will end with them being seen as more powerful than the current iconic figures in the game. -
Quote:This for me too. The first thing I do is collect some of the event salvage I have sent to myself, and get a second costume. I spend hours on each costume though. They're usually "right" until I get new costume pieces that they need.
Which may be why I keep giving them money for booster packs. -
I had a friend on another board suggest that modern setting games should do in game adds on a f2p model, then a monthly sub to opt out of the in game ads. This with micro transactions could create a pretty healthy game.
I personally am not a fan of the f2p model. My experience has been the same as others in this thread. All of the f2p games I have played tended to have a less mature player base.
As is, I don't think CoX will go to a f2p model any time soon. -
The steam jets do need to have longer bursts. I also agree the runes could use a little more opacity. I tested them on my fire blaster (hands and eyes) and I could not see the runes while the blast animation was going. The goal was for him to look like he is casting a spell.
-
I love all of them, and agree with all of what Zombie Man said.
I noticed several other things that I would like to add. I recognize they may not be possible at this late date.
Rune, and Tarot would be better traveling in an alternating pattern. Right now they swirl in a repeating direction, and I think it would be better served to be more random.
Thunderhead really needs to have the cloud one color, and the lightening another. I really recognize this may not be possible currently.
The rest I love. -
We really have no clue what the money these boosters go towards. I caught the post Jay made about BAB leaving before it was deleted. He mentioned staying over and working extra for love of the game. That there were times they were just inspired, and wanted to do it.
It is possible that these boosters are the result of that inspiration, and the method by which the company can justify paying them for going the extra mile. Perhaps in the form of a bonus or what ever.
I don't know this for a fact, and it is an optimistic outlook, but it is one worth considering.
I will buy this one. I would like to see a bit more in it, but I am fine with what is there for the price. -
Quote:Pure Truth. You're spending $15 a month on a video game (plus the cost of buying it) plus the cost of your internet connection and computer. So you attitude is rather hypocritical to say the least. If you're really worried about other people, you should divert that $15 to a charity of some sort.

Quote:I almost resisted commenting on this...almost, but I am bored, so I will anyway.Hmm, that seems a little pricey to be honest.
Maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy, my 60 month vet badge is a week away, but these booster packs look less and less value with each one.
**wanders off grumbling about how we used to get this stuff included in our monthly sub**
You get what you pay for. Go back and look at the free costumes we got with the issues, and compare them to what we are getting in the boosters. The content in the boosters, and in GR is far superior to the items of the past. I am not going to slight Jay, and the work of the past, but with boosters I am sure it is worth it to the company to focus on those cool bits a bit more.
I don't love the price, but I can live with it. Wish it had a new costume change emote with each one. -
Or the OP could be updated to include the information Ocho gave in response posts Not that I think most people read all of the OP

Quote:Ocho already stated you can get them from the start. This is better than The Party Pack but I still feel it is light and unavailable until toons reach levels 20 and 30, I wll be buying it the question is when. If the price is the same as pack prices have been in the past not until Christmas. Not when you can't even access these until you are higher level. For an Origin pack we should be getting things that we can use at character creation.

Quote:Yes please.
Maybe all capes and auras should be available at level 1, and the missions can just be for badges or story. -
I have one at 45, and I really enjoy it. I am not going to say it is the most awesome combo I have ever played, but I am having fun.
For me the end drain component of Electric has been the most useful part. YMMV. -
I like that there is a booster between each issue. I hope they continue to do this, because if I buy it or not, it is still fresh stuff in the game between the issues.
This is what it is, MTs are the way of the future I am pretty sure. When the big boy on the block started doing it, I figured the rest of the world would too. -
This alone is a selling point for me. I pretty much hate waiting till 30 to get an aura, and I hate having to run the cape mission first even more. With this booster, and the GR auras I may can skip those two missions on most of my characters.
