  1. I know Comicsluvr was actually talking about starting in January, but I'd be happy to join you on Wednesday, Psylenz, with a Demons/Thermal. (Unless you mean the first Wednesday in January, 1/4?)
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't back, in some fashion, before the end of the SSA. Maybe not at all in the same manner as the character is now - could be as a ghost, maybe his body is taken over in a more permanent fashion by the Well, but something that has the model back, if not the same character, right away.

This could have been addressed by including story lines in the game where you actually interact with these characters and perhaps even aid them in the endeavors that made them famous. What if the whole Ouroboros story line had been, instead, a plot by some nefarious individual or group to subvert the outcome of the Rikti War. And, as you travel back in time to correct what had changed, you fight along side the Freedom Phalanx and maybe even become a member, as well.

I suppose that wasn't the story they wanted to tell, but because we don't interact with these characters much at all - they are at best trainers or mission givers in the game - there is very little reason to feel empathetic towards them or really care about their fate.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: the designs are mostly already made. Just think of how much free money you could be getting by selling them.
And if it hasn't happened in the past because Paragon Studios doesn't want to do all the leg work of actually printing, shipping, marketing, etc. all of that merchandise, there are several companies out there that would do all of that for them. Paragon would only have to negotiate a licensing agreement for the merchandise.

Seems like a no-brainer to me, too.
  5. Since Mondays and Tuesdays have been mentioned as bad days, I'm available Wednesdays and Thursdays from about 5:00-5:30 CST to 9:00-10:00 CST. I could also probably do something on Saturday or Sunday, time a bit more flexible those days.

As far as character is concerned, I think I'd like to try a Demons/Thermal. I have a Demons/Sonic on another server and it would be interesting to compare the two. But, really, I'm open to play anything. I already have a Thugs/Thermal, Bots/Traps, and Ninjas/Time on Exalted of various low-middle levels.

I wonder if this might be because you can't purchase it while you have an active license?
  8. So, definitely some interest. Can we narrow down to day(s) of week, any sort of build theme, etc.?

If the idea is to start in January, there's not much of December left to plan.

I'd personally vote for one weekday and maybe one weekend day as the normal teaming days (if we do 2 days a week) to cover most playing times.

I'm really glad many of the long-standing vets, myself included, have chosen to remain VIPs. I think my original post came off more harsh than I intended. I'm keeping my sub to support the game, because I want to be sure it's around for as long as possible. What I was trying to explain is that it seemed to me that the incentive for long-standing vets to remain VIPs was somewhat lacking. You've made a decent point. Maybe, like me, most of the long-standing vets will remain subbed to support the game regardless, or if they unsub they will eventually return and resub for a time. Maybe I'm in a minority that sees less incentive to remain VIP the longer an account has been active.

I've seen other people make similar comments as the OP, though, here and in the game. And it just seems to me that there is more incentive for a new player to become a VIP than a vet. Perhaps that is intentional, though.
  10. I'm in roughly the same situation as you. I'm not quite Tier 9, yet, but will be soon. At that point, I'm not seeing very much that would entice me to remain a VIP.

That's the main thing I don't understand about the free-to-play roll out - if I was a new player, it would make a lot of sense to pay for VIP instead of staying premium. VIP would unlock a lot more stuff that I wouldn't have available otherwise. But as a long-standing veteran, there's very little that would make me want to continue to pay that extra money each month.

Perhaps there is some sort of perverse marketing logic at play where they would rather have newer players become VIPs rather than keep veterans as VIPs? I don't know, but they definitely did not leave very much enticement for long-time veterans.
  11. I think the solution, as has been stated previously, is to simply increase the drop rate of PVP IO's. If they were more readily available, there would be no need to farm them (AFK or otherwise).

If that's not viable then, this:

should be changed so that a character will log out due to inactivity whenever they are not in an instance (regardless of being in a TF/Ouro/whatever or not).

But really, I don't see this as an issue in the first place.
  12. Awesome. I'm in. I already have 3 MMs (yes, I know, but I like them) on Exalted, but I'd be happy to start a new one, or re-roll one of my existing one's.

I totally agree. Rather than, in this example, penalize Tanks for having aggro and rather than make a Tank more like a Brute by increasing damage output, maybe that "Anger" bar should instead increase as the Tank has more mobs aggro on them. As the bar increases, they gain some sort of scaling resistance/defense and maybe their aggro cap increases at the same time? Let's reward Tanks for performing their role.

At least, this lyric site seems to think so, too.

I think it's a mistake in both cases. All of these should be designed to work with powers in the primary power pool of each AT.
  16. Why is it that for every AT except Tankers, these are designed to be used in the powers of the primary power pool for the AT in question? But most Tanker primaries (only the sets with a damage aura, I would guess, are excepted) will not be able to slot the ATO set in any power in their primary power set.

It seems to me like a Tanker-specific set should go into a defensive power of some sort, right?

But I must admit I've seen multiple bugs reported in multiple formats reported very early on make it to live servers. Seems to me there is lots of room for improvement... and not so much on the player side of the equation.
I have no special inside insight about the process here, but I'm nearly positive that unless it's a bug so severe that it will kill game play entirely, nothing reported in Beta is going to be fixed before it goes live.

Instead, I think Beta is the opportunity for us to QA what's going to go live so they can determine any items that need to be patched at a later date. There are exceptions, of course, like Titan Weapons (there was quite a bit of back and forth feedback and many changes actually happened) but stuff like the inspiration tray moving around is just not important enough for them to prioritize ahead of pushing code to live servers.
  18. Evil Dead 2 was suggested but I didn't see Evil Dead. If you're going to watch any movie in the series, you really should start with the first one.

Take everything that is now something that a VIP has to unlock with points (powersets, costume packs, etc.) and unlock them. If this means the monthly stipend of points needs to be reduced or even go away, that's fine. Make it truly desirable to be a VIP. Right now, there really isn't much incentive for me to keep paying $15 a month. If I didn't have to worry about buying any new content ever again, I'd make sure my subscription stays active.

    DFB and Badges

I typically run every DFB I'm in as if it were a badge run whether or not anyone asks for it or not. If someone else kills a cadaver before the doc, well, then it's fair game, but I figure there's not much issue to sticking to single target attacks for the 20 seconds or so a full team can take down that AV.
  21. This was the first issue I bugged during the Beta test. I've seen about a dozen other people respond to various posts that they bugged this, too.

Perhaps this should have been addressed before pushing it to live?
  22. There's a rainbow path aura? I've never seen it.

Generally as living conditions get better and education gets better that rate of population increase slows down over time. Basically as living conditions get better, infant mortality rates go down and education and equality between the sexes improves people tend to have fewer children. Not enough for negative growth, but the curve slows down.

This was highlighted in a programme I've saw on TV based in India where a wealth Southern province with a much better education system and standard of living had dramatically smaller families than the rest of the country (1 or 2 children per couple).
Fair enough. Even if we take population growth out of the equation advances in technology will still lead to increased consumption due to increased life-spans. Though I highly doubt we would ever reach a point where we would voluntarily adopt a zero-population growth without resource limitations requiring us to do so.

    OR
Low survival rate which means you need to have more children to insure survival of DNA.

With technology and education we've seen all 3 of those be reduced and lead to lower reproduction numbers to balanced out or in the case of the United Sates of America a reduction in population.
Um, you may want to check your facts. Never in the history of census calculations has the US ever had a reduction in population numbers. (http://www.census.gov/history/www/th...es/fast_facts/)
But these are all immigrants, right? No, not really. Immigration is a significant factor, but if we take world census calculations into account then immigration is no longer a factor. And, similarly, there has always been an increase in population numbers as long as population data has been recorded: http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/hist...ion-growth.htm
