question: Anyone figure out a way to get the costume change emote to work during a costume change without bringing up the costume window?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, don't think you can.
Also, WHERE IS MY FIRE EMOTE? We get LIGHTNING for the electrical people, but no FIRE for us FIRE people? THAT'S FAVORITISM!!!! -
I know it says game codes are non-refundable, but due to this glitch they HAVE to fix it, don't they? Either way we can contest the charge if they don't refund the other two.

And the NCSoft Store collapses under the strain...
EDIT: I got that error, but my card was charged. So I think it went through. Careful you don't accidentally buy 10 magic packs...

ACK I GOT 3 CHARGES DUE TO THE ERROR PAGE. -

It's the Wicked hat!
[/ QUOTE ]
Totally! I can't wait to get that hat for my blaster to use instead of the Cabal hat, for her Elphaba costume. (You see, my blaster has a obsession with the wicked witch of the west heh)
Now all Jennica will need is a flying monkey to sit on her shoulder (she currently has a flying kitten that dresses up as the flying monkey when she's in her "witch" costume). HAHA. -
SO! Any chance on this happening? Like I said, it would totally be cool as a additional pack. Include rollerskate costume options, then maybe a superspeed rocket skates power to go with it
-
I'd like to see you fix how most costumes when you select "white" they end up nearly transparent. I realize this will make the "naked" heroes mad, but really it makes it hard to put anything white on a Caucasian character.

I believe we get "pick any two powersets", though the critters more than likely won't be getting all 9 powers from each
set.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well right i just was wondering cause of my character Anya Lupescu she's a werewolf with darkness and storm powers (in game she is minus the storm powers since I made her a claws/regen stalker, will get the "dark" from Ghost Widow)
[/ QUOTE ]
One of the devs have said we won't be limited to the archetypes' powersets. The example he gave was being able to pick Fire Blast for the primary and Invulnerability for the secondary. So it might be possible for you to pick Claws and Storm Summoning if you'd like. But I don't think you'll be able to combine Claws, Regen, Dark and Storm powers in the same character.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right, wouldn't be any need to really.. if I could I'd probably do her as dark/storm for the actual archvillain version heh.
So, from what the devs said, we could make like Frostfire, that has really two primaries so he gets both Jack Frost AND Imps? -

Ah ok cool. Also, will you be able to "break archetype" with custom villains, like for exampe a few storm powers and a few dark powers, or will you be limited to the same archetypes as characters?
-
Anyone heard if there will be an option to "load character" like for example, if I want the villain in a mission to be my level 50 dominator, will I have to actually recreate her IN the system, or will I be able to just say "use Psychic Violet"

I hope and pray they don't allow side flipping. Let hero-side be hero-side and villains be villains.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, although I understand how badgers would like to see side-switching happen.
What I could see as a compromise is a new AT that can 'jump the fence' so to speak. Something morally ambiguous to begin with, say working for Crey Industries? Paragon Protector perhaps? Science based anyways. Maybe make the new AT a badgers dream( whatever that might be), and tie unlocking it to having 200 badges on any one AT. It might be an interesting experience to be a 'moral chameleon', and being able to move anywhere in the game. A Crey based character would have the right background to fit into either Hero or Villain sides.
Just an idea,
Grizz
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, yes badgers may and probably will switch sides to get the most badges, but the thing is, heroes and villains switch sides in the comics all the time. Did Marvel's White Queen start out "morally ambigous?" No. She was a villain, through and through. However, now she's a hero, part of the X-Men in fact, her former worst enemies, at least last I heard. SHe might be a villain again for all I know.
Thing is, just like all the people that will be abusing the Mission Architect to creatie farming missions, side switching WILL be abused. All NCSoft can do is TRY to minimize what abuse they can, and be satisfied with that, because some players WILL find a way to abuse any good thing. -
[ QUOTE ]
If I can just throw my two cents in here...not that anyone will hear it over the complaining, but...
I for one am looking forward to the MA. To me, it represents not a farming tool, or an XP generator, but an opportunity to tell stores, and where appropriate, share those stories with others. I enjoy writing stories in my spare time anyway, and nearly every character I have in this game is more than just a collection of AT's, IOs and badges, they are living, breathing representations of an idea, concept or persona given form. I desperately hope I'm not the only one who sees more than just inherent mechanical flaws, but a blank canvas on which to paint ideas for others to enjoy. Okay, maybe not everyone has the passion for telling stories that I do, but still, it has to be worth something that they're allowing players to do this at all. To date, I've never played an MMO that allowed players any meaningful control over how they play (grind the endgame instance, get the uberloot, wait for next big release). I wouldn't begin to suggest that the MA is the end-all, be-all of this game, but I think it's a ballsy step for the devs, and I for one appreciate the offering.
With that, I leave everyone to return to their regularly scheduled critique of a system that hasn't even seen the light of day yet. :P
EDIT- dammit Arckmage, ya beat me to the punch lol. At least I know I'm not the only one now

Totally! I can't wait to have heroes get hired by my Arachnos Widow to take out her "mistress" (for info on my Widow, see her virtueverse page at Viper Widow). -
Just a nitpick, CoH is the first to offer user created MISSIONS, however Pirates of the Burning Sea has allowed user created flags and sails and even ships since beta. In fact, a good 30% or more of the ships were created by players during the beta and are named as such.
-
Well, yeah it would be a lot of work, which is why I said it would be cool as a booster. That way, they could justify the extra work it would require for those of us that care.
-
Some friends and I were talking last night, and we all decided we'd love to see roller skates in the game. I am putting it here instead of Jay's costume thread, because it would require work from the animation team too, maybe like even a booster pack for those that care, those that don't can leave it. Though, if you do add it as a paid one, then please make a few options for the skates, like at least traditional and then some blades at least.

I'm on the this is unfair to non-west coast people bandwagon. Great for people in that area, shaft for anyone who is not. Using developer time to add content (however non-game changing it is) that players are not on equal footing to obtain is a real PO factor for subscribers. Something NCNC might want to think about.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a permenant version of the temporary power you can earn during the Halloween event. It simply changes your appearance into that of the PPD Hardsuit.
It is not a set of player costume pieces and it required very very little time to create as the PPD Hardsuit was already made and the power to change you into it was already made for the Halloween event.
[/ QUOTE ]
Alright, then how about for $9.95 make it so we can get ALL the Halloween costumes as permanent temp powers? They're allready in the game.
I have never liked in-game items being given as rewards. Maybe it's because I live in the midwest and will NEVER have any of the stuff, so Im just bitter, but when World of Warcraft does it every year, it annoys me because I can't afford to go to Blizzcon, I will never have a murloc pet, a murloc costume, or I think their new thing this year is a Polar Bear Mount.
So, give it away for free to the convention goers, sure... but let those of us willing to purchase it do so. -
Nice to see people that can afford a $400 plane ticket and $100 or more in hotels getting an in game item lots of people have been asking for.
And East coast subscribers? What about us Midwest subscribers? -
Mwahahaha my Defender will soon amass 14 costume tokens and she no longer has to use them!!! Mwhahaha! My plans for world domination... *cough*
I'm sorry did you say something about respecs and costume tokens? That's great! I could use a few more. Tailoring for parties gets so expensive.
*tries to look innocent* -
I also think this is a bad idea. Since voice chat was added to WoW, I've found various occasions where I've been KICKED from a team because I do not have a microphone and even if I did, I would not wish to do voice chat.
There are many third party voice chat programs, when a company makes it "official" even if it's via just the "NCSoft Launcher" that still makes it "mandatory" to some players. -

I made the mistake of telling a spammer that I was reporting him some time ago, and ever since then they have been harassing my with multiple spam mails every day to punish me. I have reported them for this over and over and over again as both spamming and harrassment and nothing has ever been done about it. I gave up on reporting them a long time ago. Also, doesn't the ignore command apply to the character, not the user? They use a different toon every time, with names that are just random combonations of letters and numbers- obviously just made to spam then deleted to avoid getting caught. I never thought to use the ignore command for emails, but if it does apply to all characters made by that account then I'll use it. Still, it would be nice to see something get done about it for a change.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, ignore_spammer with flag the entire account, however as it's just a trial and they get a new one as soon as it's been banned (actually probably before), there's not much that can be done.
Really, I again say... It sucks, but they really need to put severe limitations on trial accounts. Sucks for the legitmate users, but I understood when I played a trial of World of Warcraft, so I'd like to hope the majority of legit players would understand and... -

I was receiving tells over and over today from some guy standing in outbreak! A level one alphabetic type name telling me and my husband on his account that we have been forcibly disconnected from the server for advertisment! I went to Outbreak and stood there while he continued sending these tells in the spawn spot after create a character. Just had to smack the guy around a bit!
Wish I could reach him in RL!!
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't get those... unless someone sent them that tell as a joke and their bot program screwed up and took it and started sending it out instead of their advertisment. Weird. -
[ QUOTE ]
I have to admit as I don't need or want the services of these sites, I don't find them to disrupt my game play... the emails are annoying to have to delete but the in game tells I just gloss over already.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, they DO disrupt my game play, as on my main I had a mail that I was saving, had saved it for months, but when deleting 15 spam mails, I accidentally deleted that mail i wanted to keep, so that constitutes a disruption to my game. -

[ QUOTE ]
Well, not everyone knows your global to send you an email. Some players have friends they want to keep non-global friends. Plus, many DJs use the email to keep track of requests, with 100 people sending them tells of requests, there's no way they could keep track of that! The email allows them to. So, no... removing email would be a bad idea. Removing it from TRIAL accounts would be fine, I know most of the DJs if you tell them "hey, i'm on a trial so no email, but can you play this song for me" that's a few tells compared to the 100's they'd be getting with no emails
[/ QUOTE ]
Have you actually -used- the in-game email? They have to be directed to specific characters, not a global names.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why no, I've never sent an email to DJ Shecky or Rain Fox, or DJ Angel and had them play my song on The Cape Radio. Nope, not once. Ever.
Could my attempts to send emails to @DJ Shecky possibly be the reason!?
/sarcasm
Now, as for what you said, I think I see why you said that, I should have said "Not everyone knows your global to send you a tell when you are offline". Yes, I know email is for characters not for globals, sorry for the confusion, and my sarcastic nature. -
Just because some never use it doesn't mean some don't. Removing it would be a VERY bad idea. Now, a OPTION in your user settings to disable emails, that would be fine.

Actually, that is exactly the sort of petition that is against the forum rules.

So, you cannot make requests? Um... riiiight. The type of petition that is against the rules is...
We, the undersigned hereby demand that you acceed to our demands!
1. John

3. Rachel
4. Jessica
5. David
or, in the case of the forums, a bunch of people just making posts that say "/sign"
It is against the rules because it's just "bumping" a thread, which is against the rules. So, you make it a suggestion, open it up to suggestion, word it so that it's discussed with "Yeah, i agree because..." not

A "sign please" petition is against the rules, not simply saying "Hey, I'd like to see this feature!"
