Can't be there this week, going to be camping with 12,000 close friends in western Pennsylvania (huge medieval recreation event, with mass combat and loads of classes and parties).
Have fun without me! -
Quote:You still are having problems with your definitions:That is answering the question I was asking.
If at 10 you do Posi 1&2, Syanpse, Yin, Sutter, Moonfire, Citadel, and Hess you will probably hit 30 just doing those, or come close. It is easy at that point to just go to Oro and do the arcs. Far easier than trying to get them the normal way.
I do understand that many people equate powerleveling to farming or being leveled. That is not what the term means in MMO's in general. It is leveling quickly as opposed to doing the content.
Given the vast leveling difference between a team of 8 and solo, I regard teaming as powerleveling. I suspect that many people regard powerleveling as doing something more exploitive than what they do. In the George Carlin sense that "anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?"
TFs ARE content. Just because that activity, and teaming in general, may gain XP at a faster rate DOES NOT make them powerlevelling, as the term is generally used in MMOs. They are playing content.
I understand your question is about reasons people may or may not want to flashback for content, but your OP started from an entirely jewobbered premise of what powerlevelling is defined as - hence the tangent the discussion took.
My objections to using Ouro instead of doing content at each level as I reach it are the same as others have stated - I don't like some of the mechanics, such as being locked into a single arc until I finish it instead of being able to change easily between arcs.
My question back to you is "Why are you limiting your experience of exemplaring back only to Ouro?" You can join any team at any level to go back to lower level content (even the TFs you seem to think are not content for some reason) and still have the flexibility of switching between arcs if you grow bored with the one you are on. -

Quote:Nice answer, Sam!That's like asking "If you live alone, why not sleep on the couch?" Why would I want to?
So, OP, what content are you using to PL? Also, if I am soloing, who is doing the PL'ing? Not me, I'm playing solo.
Sometimes your philosophical ponderings seem to start from very odd positions, such as this one. -
iTrials are team only - large teams at that. Generally, there is a place people congregate to form up, it varies by server, but it is often Pocket D or RWZ.
DA is the soloing alternative to the iTrials. There is a short intro arc that takes you to DA, but I can't recall the contact sice I only did it one time.
So the choice for Incarnate content is the wild & crazy iTrials (lots of powers fx going off, big, big opponents) OR the solo DA content OR (after the Alpha slot is opened) the usual level TFs like ITF, etc., which will then drop salvage used to make Incarnate powers OR some combination of all of them.
iTrials is definitely the faster way to go, if that is a consideration. -
Gold Name = VIP, doesn't it?
Welcome back! -
Bringing AdAdtra Dark/Ice Blaster, level 38, so she just squeaks in.
-
Planning on being there with Briony Deep.
-
Looks like this TF will be pretty soggy, all the WB characters.
-
Briony Deep (water/dark blaster) will be there!
-
I haven't seen this one before - it's a slightly different angle.
- Valid, and noticeable warnings at character selection, "This characters seems to be using IO's, your account standing restricts the use of Inventions"
I could see the utility of adding warnings about restrictions on characters prior to unlocks.
It is my understanding that there is already a warning about redtricted ATs which was another one of your suggestions. -
Just one of each? What if the Premium player has more than one character with different ATs or spread across a couple of servers?
That is possible for Premiums with earned or purchased character slots - and is even technically possible for someone who has just 2 alts.
I'm also not sure if it's possible with the current forum software, which seems to be a bit stupid at times. That would be asking it for a lot of individualized profiles, instead of the really basic VIP/not VIP. There's an awful lot of Premiums accounts out there, and the potential for lots more. -
Pretty surprised you haven't run into a "blood-tinted" WB character in-game. At least the first week or so, it seemed like at least one third of the new WBcharacters were on that theme. I ran into the first one I saw in the DfB trial I was running with my brand-new WB (non-bloody) blaster.

OMGs! This is the most horrible threat humanity has ever, ever faced! It will affect every man, woman, and child!!
Oh, sorry level 12 character. You're obviously not good enough to help out. Go PL until you're 50+. What's that? You're free to play/premium? Well, sorry, only VIPs can break the 50 mark. Both of you go sit at the kiddie table while this massive and world shattering event happens. Here, hold my cape so you can pretend to have something you can do that makes a difference.
Don't get me wrong, I love my incarnate. But shouldn't people less than Incarnates get to help save the world from the biggest threat humanity has ever faced? Because a level regular level 50 would be smeared across the pavement with one hit.
Sometimes I wish they hadn't introduced Incarnates. I frequently wish they hadn't concentrated so much new content on them.
As an altoholic, fairly casual player, I don't have a single character "completely" incarnated. I have 1 that has the first, possibly the second level shift. I have another one that has the Alpha slot unlocked.
If OP has his way - the other 50 or so characters will be useless, and the character that has partially shifted will be borderline. Ughh. -
To be fair Experienced is a Tier 7 reward, and new players won't get that one without dropping some cash. I know we can't go by Reg dates, but OP looks like a newer player (2012 reg date), so his suggestion would be a potential benefit.
That being said, the fact that there is a Tier reward that does the same thing makes it unlikely that the Devs would add the OP's suggestion. -
I would like to join with either Winter Shock (elec/ice 'troller) or AdAstra (dark/ice blaster).

My Water/Dark Blaster is named Briony Deep.
I saw Cruel Aid (corruptor who tinted blasts red as blood) on Infinity on the first night the set was available. -
Briony Deep will be back (water/dark blaster)

Quote:^^^^I'd be willing to sacrifice my current base if it meant they would bring back base updates. I can always rebuild, but at the moment all we have is all we're ever going to get. I don't like that.
this
BUT - absolutely not on bringing back base raiding as part of the package. Raiding puts restraints on what I build and I was ecstatic when they removed raid-pathing in I13. -
To find people to team with - go to the specific server forum below and ask for the "global channels" that are used to find teams - they will work much better than trying to broadcast a team search or using the LFG tool in the game.

(joking - I have a law degree as well, I just work for a trade association instead of having a practice.)
