Signing up a friend:
What are your in-game Globals?: @Sorah
What characters do you have on Freedom?:
EM/Nin Stalker
SS/Fire Brute
NRG/NRG Blaster
Empathy/Elec Defender
Are you willing to respec into a PvP build?: Yes
Are you willing to roll a new character if needed?: Yes
Briefly describe your PvP experience: She used to do a lot of Fight Nights on Virtue & would destroy zones with her stalker posse. All pre I13. -
What is going on with practices? First day we started two hours late and yesterday there wasn't one. Am I right in thinking this week is more about logistics (getting everyone signed up/figuring out what we have) rather than actual PVP practices?
No aggro, just curious as to what's going on.
And LOL Guildportal needs to be down more. -

My point was that the turnover/price of recipe's is more indicative of how available PVPIOS are. (I.e. not "impossible to get.") I have a sneaky suspicion that some people in this thread are looking at the "last 5 sold" prices of enhancements and wrongly assuming that's the current market value.
I agree with you on drop rates though. Anyone getting 2/3 per night is using three accounts, not two. -
Quote:Supply on PVPIOs is higher now then it has ever been. When both supply/demand and inflation are at play, you can't single one out as the sole cause.
The only reason prices haven't dropped MAJORLY is because the market is still adjusting to the changes. If you don't believe me just go look at the market. PVP Recipe's have a higher turnover, higher supply, and lower cost than PVP enhancements.
Most of the last 5 sales for the enhancements are from last month.
Glad javs, Glad Armours, and Panacea Procs will always cost loads. They're the exception not the rule. (akin to LOTG & Miracle's.) -

Hello there friend.
I know what you're thinking...this is just another thread pitching a PVPIO for sale.
Well you'd be right. But wait...there's more.
This PVP IO fits really snugly in an Assassin's Strike or a Knockout Blow. For PVP the chance to hit isn't the normal 20%.
...it's 33%. That's right. It connects ONE IN THREE times you make the attack.
And I should know...I'm so sure of the product that I use one myself EVERY DAY.
I'm sure I don't have to tell you how valuable this recipe is. Recently they've been selling for anywhere between 800M and 1000M.
But because it's you. And because i'm your friend, i've decided to make this ONE TIME OFFER of 700M.
You heard me right. It's selling at 100M BELOW market prices.
...and it's already listed.
Your friend,

Quote:What if there was no need to transfer servers? Would you remove the 10% fee? I'd happily transfer a lowbie to and from you in order to trade.I've decided that, since nearly all my customers are on Virtue and Freedom, I'm going to change my "Bank" servers to be those two.
So my new rates are:
10 gets you 9- Virtue and Freedom, both sides.
10 gets you 8- any other server for either side of the transaction.
These rates are still symmetrical: you could give me a billion infamy and get 900 million influence, or give me a billion influence and get 900 million infamy.
I am on all US servers- so I can take Champion infamy and give you Freedom influence, or take Pinnacle influence and give you Protector infamy, or whatever. Those are at "10 gets you 8" prices.
The additional 10% fee for "any other server" transactions is not additional profit for me- it's a Went-fee, because I will probably have to move the influence or the infamy to the other server, through the market. (Worst case, I have to move my money THERE at a 10% fee, and your money BACK at a 10% fee, and I break even.)
I'm @Boltcutter in game. -
Quote:I agree. Prices are an issue of inflation. Not drop rate. (Case example: prices of costume pieces when inventions launched. They didn't go for more than the influence cap despite rarely dropping.)Inflation is rampant. Things going for more than the market cap is obviously a problem, considering the market cap is supposed to be the individual wealth cap. Obviously, something is quite horribly broken there.
Protip: Give your endgame massive influence/infamy sinks. Inflation goes bye bye. -
Quote:Secondaries (in no order):Thank you Sir, I appreciate the info. Now what about secondaries for those Sets?
Scrapper: Regen
Stalker: Regen, WP, Nin
Blaster: EM, MM
Corr: Therm, Cold, Rad, Pain, TA
Tanks (primary): Fire, Inv, Shield
Brutes: Inv, Fire, EA (when paired with DM) -
There was a thread a while back with all the ATs listed in tiers. Blasters were #1.
-
@EmpireForgotten I wouldn't worry too much. The market isn't going to change. But Positron's end game content for GR is likely going to contain massive influence sinks that should help combat the massive inflation of Influence/Infamy since I14.

Part of me doesn't want to reply to brophog02 as that would imply that we are somehow peers. Or at the very least he has said something of worth that requires rebuttal. I suppose i'm just humouring him.
Quote:I highlighted the part that is a problem. You have something called experimenter bias.A thread that establishes such statements requires concrete evidence, tests, and figures. That thread was a very sparse collection of observations with biased individuals waving magic wands in an attempt to "convince" someone that these things are true.
My claim is backed up by the dropping prices of the majority of PVPIOS and the rising supply of PVPIOs since January 5th. Those are both facts. Taking into account anomalies such as the aforementioned procs. (One of which, the glad jav proc, was clearly the reason for this thread being made.)
Disagree with me? Go look on the market.
Quote:If statements such as "all PVPIO prices started to drop" were indeed true then threads such as this one which complain of low or no supply and capped market prices would not need to exist.
Incorrect. PVPIOs are supposed to be as rare as purples. -
Quote:It's not speculation. After the thread entitled "Are Prices Rising?" gave details on how to farm PVPIOs...the prices of all PVPIOs started to drop (and are continuing to drop as from 5th) This shows that AFK farming is the primary source of PVPIOs on the market. (Or that they contribute enough to impact the supply & price on the market.)I don't see why a PVEr would spend hours farming for PVP IOs unless they had like 6 accounts. Not to say that no one does, but I doubt enough of them to make any real difference. It seems the problem lyes in those dudes buying them from the market though. Not even sure if pvers affect the market at all. At the end of the day this is all speculation as we don't have any way of knowing what percentage of pvers even care about PVP IOs. I'd personally just like to see a raw increase to the drops period.
As 95% of the game's population is PVE. I can summarise that 95% of the AFK farmers should also be PVE.
Remove PVE affects from PVPIOs and these PVE farmers will stop. This will cut supply drastically and drive up costs.
In other words...Mac's idea is counter-intuitive. I personally believe that PVPIOS are fine the way they are. However, if you're looking for a "solution" I think the focus should be on changing drop rates...not on the FUNCTION of the PVPIOs themselves. -
If they didn't affect PVE then the supply/demand would both decrease. This would drive prices up. It's the fact that PVE people (95% of the game's population) want them that is inspiring all of the farming. If demand was lowered than people would be less inclined to farm PVPIOs.

Quote:But we can do something else.I can accept that. But it plays out both ways especially since we can't really gather up the entire community and say "Hey, so what do YOU think about this?".
If drop rates are so bad, then people will leave the game.
let's wait and see if anyone does. -
Quote:So you CAN do it but you just don't wanna?I have a 2 x lvl 50 fire kinioed out and capable of making this 2bill in a week but farming is disgustingly boring. As I said though, it is what it is. I just don't think the one or two people disagreeing here represent the majority of the PVP community.
Colour me confused. -
If you look at last 5 sold & the bidding/selling numbers...there are few PVPIOs that don't have one or two for sale at least. (I'd estimate the glad armor proc, glad jav proc, and panacea proc.) They're all over the market at the moment and nearly all of them are readily available.
This is all relative to wealth though. To your average gamer 2 billion is some sort of achievement. To mid level marketeers it means they're good at what they do. To the top marketeers its nothing more than a weeks earnings.
In short; your tastes don't match your earnings. You're like the kid who wants an expensive sportscar but doesn't have the house/clothing/lifestyle to match it.
