  1. Have you considered inviting some of your NCSoft mates from the other titles to come over and contribute emotes, content, maps, MA arcs, costumes, etc?

Hehe... get a few dudes from the lesser titles so they come cheap

Or even do a promo swap for a couple of projects
  2. One has to suppose what was originally going to go into GR:

    2 Powersets
    Ultra Mode
    Side-switching (and related content)
    Praetoria (and related content)
?End Game System (and related content)
    ?Costumes
    ?Emotes
    ?Badges

And we still don't know how much of I17 was actually pushed ahead from GR material.

With the ahead of schedule push of UMode, DP and DS as well as what appears to be overhauls in QoL, UI, Game Systems (which in themselves constitutes a major change that could've been left for GR release); I think the pre-pay is well justified.

Your prepay is helping to push out things ahead of schedule. Or at least keep it from falling behind.

    IMO

Between the pre-order and I17; gimme shinies nao!

Could care less about the free game time (unless you're giving away a free year ).

Sell that booster... sell that sucka now!

They need to stop making this game easier and definitely stop pandering to the lazy players. Epic archetypes meant something to someone who got their first toon to 50. Now, just like so many other rewards in the game, it doesn't mean much at all.
I'm sure it's because a bunch of people kept complaining how 'un-Epic' the ATs were. "I made it to level 50 and all I got was this weak ol' EAT!"

    j/k

Max 36 Character Slots per server

2 factions (play as a hero/play again as a villain)

    14 different ATs

Approx 100 powerset combinations per AT (non-EAT)

    PvP play vs. PvP play

Weapon, Power and Costume Customization; after all... one toon can't flash everything.
  7. Michael Ironside kind of reprised that role on Terminator: Salvation. An hard-nosed, officer of the organized portion of the resistance movement that adhered to the chain-of-command that has to deal with another (John Conner) that holds more rank/respect over the more independent portions of the resistance.

lol, now that I think about it... there's a few other similarities between T4 and V: TFB that may lead back to Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Entities bent on the takeover of the human species; wearing human skins in order to infiltrate and subvert while processing/transporting humans for food/experimentation.

Second, the Fifth Column, if you read the info about them (like on ParagonWiki, forget where else) they originated from the Nazis in WWII in the game story. Third, Their uniforms are based on the Nazi colors (gray, black, red and the white in their emblem), also their emblem is compsoed of wings like from the German eagle symbol used then with a rendition of a "death's head" over a "V" the Roman numeral for "5". Lastly, the 5th Column were in the game years before the recent show "V" was created. And just for some background info: the Column was removed due to a dispute about the game in Germany, for obvious reasons. They fairly recently brought back the Column in Issue 11, more majorly in Issue 15. There you have it, just so everyone is clear. =)
Wasn't referring to the recent TV series... was referring to the 80s series that had Robert Englund in it. I get the Nazi reference... numerous posts and a few links have been presented.

And although CoX may not have pulled from 'V: The Final Battle'; both apparently are using the same source to construct their respective antogonists.

The Visitors also utilize a red, black and grey color scheme. Their emblem is a play off the Swastika. They have a Fifth Column faction within their ranks (Fascists btw; according to wiki) that seek to usurp the current Leadership of the Visitors.

I think it's because both have an additional effect; Immob... (and they're trying to keep all 3 effects in sync) but I could be wrong.
  10. I'm not a big fan of Blaster damage auras (they don't have the benefit of Fury to make them dangerous); however, I'm trying out an Elec/Elec as well and applying EMod Stun procs to almost all of my -END attacks; including E Aura... so I'm willing to give E Aura a go (plus I plan on putting in the EMod +END proc in it).

WoC, I probably wouldn't take; it's only an 8' radius that I don't think works on Lts and above... but it can slot the AoE Confuse proc.
  11. Can Detention Field affect EBs/AVs? Bosses?

I think it's odd that you think that two powersets for existing classes are two of the biggest features of the expansion.

I would think all the New archtypes for the new beginning zone, the New beginning zone itself, the fact that all the tutorials are going through an upgrade, being able to switch sides, a massive graphics upgrade, new costume pieces, badges, missions, and stories are all more substantial than two powersets which have been in the rumor mill for two years now.

By giving us access to the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning early, they are simply giving us a small taste of all the goodies that are to come!
Ultra Mode is coming before GR; slated for issue 17... so the 2 most talked about selling points are seeming to be made available before full release (graphics and powersets). I'm not sure what the storyline for I17 is, however, if it's any kind of a lead-up into GR; then we may see GR NPCs beforehand as well (possibly even a couple of new tilesets)
  13. Yeah, I found those wiki entries... so I'm thinking maybe both CoX and 'V' are drawing from the same source. And I've seen the uniform similarities between them and the Nazi's (the grey shirts) but the red shirts do resemble the red shirts on 'V', so I had to ask.
  14. So I'm watching bits and pieces of the 'V' marathon (old school version) and find that the rebel faction of Visitors are called '5th Column'. The Raerei's even have similar outfits.

So is CoX's 5th modeled after the Visitors or is it a direct historical reference... or a little of both?
  15. If it hasn't been asked... does pre-ordering allow you to get your hands on Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning early on the Live servers... or just allow you to be included in the closed beta waves as they cycle through?
  16. I ask that players be allowed the option to change either one of their powersets prior to hitting level 9 (or 13). [The option being lost once the tonn hits lvl 10 (or 14)]

It gives them a bit of time to give their choice a whirl and there's little chance of IO set commitment at that point.

I know some would say 'just reroll' but there's probably quite a few who'd rather not completely trash a toon [that they've invested a lot of creation time into and] whose only 'meh' may be a powerset selection.

You may be right, but GR is a whole different ballgame than a few levels of co-op zones and a handful of co-op events. (And team play is different from solo play)

The zones and events allow Defenders to go back to Paragon with little competition in the way of Buffing/Debuffing (ie. Controllers).

GR allows the other 2 Buff/Debuff ATs to go home with the Defender; creating more competition for that function.

As a course of regular play, the Defender now has to deal with the possibility of being replaced by 3 ATs; 1 of which has more control, and soon, 2 of which will have more damage. Not just in the creation of the team but in the creation of the character itself (for team or solo play).

My question is more in line with the intent of each inherent (and their current description):

    Quote:
Scourge: The Corruptor is a dastardly villain indeed. As a Corruptor's foe health wanes, the Corruptor can start to land Scourge hits with his attack powers for up to double damage. The weaker the target is, the greater chance the Corruptor has of landing Scourge. Once a foe is weak enough, there is no escaping the Corruptor's wrath. A Corruptor shows no mercy.
    That's some hero right there.

Vigilance just needs to be reworked, period. With Corrs, Defenders and MMs sharing space; Defenders run the risk of falling to the wayside. (IMO)
  19. Wow; I put up suggestion that people refer to as game breaking or beyond code and my rep doesn't budge... for a whole six months.

I put up a suggestion that holds little significance and it goes up and down like a roller-coaster; in one day, lol. The last neg being "...cos that's stealthy."

...well, frankly, it is. It's that kinda stealthy, abrupt trauma that gave us 80s Slasher-core and has given more guts to heroine-driven vengeance flicks (Did I mention legions of Juggalos?).

Trust me, trinkets like kitchen knives and sickles can get the adrenaline going too... but nothing says, "BOO!" to a group of frightened kiddies like being splattered in the face with the blood (and possibly, innards) of one of their playmates; courtesy of an impromptu thunking of some form of [over-sized] hatchetry.

Heck, a BA Stalker would go back into hide solely because the rest of the vics would be running too fast to keep track of where he got off to:

    "*huff, puff* We lose him?"
"I think so, *breathe*, I don't se-" THWACK!!

Stealth isn't all about Metal Gear pansying or Siphon Filter egg-shelling (or even getting a booty-call on your office phone so your wife doesn't find out creeping); sometimes it's just about catching a bunch of horny teens with their pants down.
  20. Also, any mention of Inherent changes for those who switch alignments (esp. Scourge/Vigilance)?

Lol, not much you can do about Assassination though.

A good (but not typical) axe-wielding AS would be the scene from American Psycho where Patrick Bateman kills Paul Allen to the sounds of Huey Lewis and the News, lol (would post a link but that would be a definite no-no).

Another fine example of Axe Stalkering can be found in 'Wrong Turn' (the let's-hide-up-a-tree scene).
