Also copy your carefully-crafted bio into Notepad, etc., if thats the attraction for the character.

Yeah. Especially with being able to save the costumes now (generally one of the more time-consuming bits that people don't want to lose,) I see no reason to do anything but reroll.
(I have exactly one character that wouldn't work for - and that's because they have the original pointy-ear face and malaise pants. Of course, they also can't ever change that first outfit... which is a shame.)

Save the costume. Copy the bio to notepad and reroll. It only takes an hour to get to level 10.
