:3 Every now and then, I come up with an awesome idea.
The fun part about the longer martial arts robes, is that there are so many different patterns (that I never noticed until I bumped my graphics up a bit).
Other things you could consider for gloves are Smooth/Bare -> Wrapped (Which is a glove option I just love) or Sinister (sans pad) for a belted/plated look. >.>
For colors... that can really vary wildly. I went with mostly blues on Nanao, except for her 'The Amazing Mini-Scrapper Nanao-chan' costume (that she personally hates - it's a temporal disruption brought on by going through an Ouroboros or Portal Corps. portal) I went with a more 'classic' White/Red that I liked.
Really, though, you can mix any two colors (usually one 'bright' and one 'dark') and pull off a convincing look. The Tsoo are a really great examples of colors you can mix and match with, as are some of the MA-using or Wuxia inspired Generic Heroes and Villains that show up in Mayhems. >.> -

But I'm running a little slow today. D:
[/ QUOTE ]Ahem, there's this really cool inherent power called Sprint . . . .
[/ QUOTE ]
Bah. Why sprint? I have Super Jump.
You not real Kung-Fu Mastah without Cloud Walking Prana.
You Keanu Reaves! -
>.> Gimme about... 20 minutes, and Server providing, I can bust out the look I had for Nanao's 'Kensai' costume that, I think, turned out fairly well.
It does include a facemask, but that's totally optional, and only included in because I'm a scarf [censored].
Edit:
It's one of the generic martial arts robes, with one of the longer 'shorts' options under Skirts/Shorts, the Dragon bracers, and Sinister Boots (sans plate). Before I had the Sinister ones, I was using the Motorcycle boots for more of a shin-guard feel to the look.
That's about as 'classic' martial arts master as I could make things, sadly. >.> Other suggestions I have would be using some of the Tucked In pants styles and the boot of your choice for the leg areas, but the top is really hard to do properly. There just aren't that many jackets or shirts that really work, though Tops with Skin -> Tanker or Tee work fairly well for a 'civvie' look in a pinch.
Sorry about the crappy lighting, too. Had I been thinking, I'd have ducked into my Base before taking the shots. >> But I'm running a little slow today. D: -
...Sheesh.
All the GOOD lines already got taken!
(Sidebar: Yowza.) -
I certainly wouldn't mind staring down her b-
*Pauses, as she's handed a note from off screen.*
Huh. It would appear that my censors have forbidden me from finishing that sentence. Looks like I can't even get away with some stuff on Christmas!
Very nice piece all the same! Brandon does amazing work. :3 -
The creativity and ingenuity of people amuses me so.
You get an A+ from me, dear sir! -
Definately diggin' the lighting effects, Jug-man!
NeuroVolta, in particular, seemed rather awesome (the pose, etc.. that, and I have a weakness for that particular bit of headgear. <.<. But, really, they all were fabulous pieces.
Darian Spectra (unsurprisingly) had my brain stopping for a second. >.> <.< -
I don't take as much time to memorize artist names as much as I probably should. >.>
I do know, however, that I'm a big fan of David Nakayama, Todd Nauck, and Kevin Lau, though. Both have produced some very nice artwork, and I'm definately a fan of the styles.
Masashi Kishimoto, also, is a personal favorite... if just because I like some of the outfits he's come up with. And the overall style.
...I should probably make it more of a point to keep track of which artists I actually like. -
For not being finished, that's looking pretty sweet. :O
The final piece should be fairly epic. -
Oh my goodness.
That one left me anything BUT frosty, dear sir.
If you know what I mean, nyoro~n. ;3c -
...I am rendered without anything innuendo-ish to say.
It speaks for itself: Rrrrawr. -
Sig-lined. Though, I'm almost always on an alt these days, except on those brief sporadic moments where I feel the need to remodel the Rikti War Zone, and plow through missions (or area spawns and Assault Suits) on Nanao.
But, if you see iClawed running around Virtue doing... whatever it is that crazy girl gets into, that's me.
Also easily noticeable as Thermal Kinetic, and Captain Empulse.
But, then, I'm a rare poster, and usually just slide through threads to make an innuendo or give a high-paw to the artist.
If you know what I mean, nyoro~n. ;3 -
That is, indeed, fairly epic.
Whoever he lands on is gonna feel dat for a good loooong time. -
Definately nifty stuff.
The second piece was fairly nifty, too, in particular.
But, of course, gotta love the big wallpaper version of Bayani. Muy caliente! (Yeah, yeah. Wrong island. I knoooow!) -
...I wouldn't have realized it was done with marker if it hadn't been pointed out.
That's pretty awesome, and just adds to an already amazing piece.
Also, nooo! That kitty is CLEARLY in league with the villain in the shadows! Don't give in to the fuzzy cuteness! Resiiiist! -
Very slick piece! It's got me thinking a bit more about character design, and costume work in particular. The perspective, I think, is what prompts most of the creative gears in my head - that and some of the little touches here and there.
All in all, much awesome, sir. :3 -
Kind of scratching my head of why I didn't cruise through this thread earlier.. >>
Chalk it up to being busy doing nothing this season. :3
Very nice shot! And it's certainly... eye-catching.
If you know what I mean, nyoro~n. ;3c
(Sidebar: I'd forgotten you do traditional art, too. >> I'm so used to seeing the amazing 3d stuff. Dopey me!) -
Oh, great.
Now I'm going to have to fight the urge to recite The Most Fatal Line in Gundam History whenever I see that particular guy..
'It's a mobile suit.. It's a gundam!' (Death usually follows.)
It'll be worse on my Peacebringer, because I'll just *have* to wind up Incandescent Strike by prefacing it with Domon Kasshu's trademark signature line (What? I'm not the only one that thought of the Shining Finger when looking at the power list for PBs, right?).
...Now if you'll excuse me, I do believe my geek is showing. >> I must go remedy this. -
Huh. Weird. Nobody's thought of this yet:
Juggertha and Thor's Assassin, locked in an epic duel of...
Checkers!
I mean, sure, they could just arm-wrestle or something, but this saves money on replacement tables (in theory).
>> Then again, I'm nonsensical. :3 -

Have we figured out how to unlock the Ascendant Shields?
[/ QUOTE ]
Current theory is:
200 Council of any type;
Slayer or Silver Bullet;
Council-related TF badge.
I'm betting money on the first two options, as the third doesn't make a lot of sense for villains.
It is a rather nifty shield design, though. -
I was in just after the launch, but apparently there were some major crash issues for a lot of people (I never noticed any - I got a few Mapservs, though, but never outright crashed), so they did some emergency maintenance last night around 10EST.
Not sure about after that... I'll test it now. >.>
Edit: In, and lamenting my second build's lack of proper slotting again.
In other news, in the spirit of the board: Nurse Artifice!
:3 I really do like how her nurse outfit turned out. Though, I should see if there aren't any new/better options for her.. -

Though, I have to wonder if you yet realize the thing you've done. Saying 'free art' is like shaking a bell at a room full of kittens.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I understand. Thankfully you're all very polite kittens!
... now please put down the sword ...
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm? Oh.
>.> Sorry, I mean. There's a perfectly logical explanation for it!
Yasee, I was in Dark Astoria, there were zombies, and well... Scrapper-instincts took over. I swears!
...You're not a zombie, are you?
