    Last weekend we had a good test of PVP with the Defient's, was all in good nature and good fun, although we did loose but we gave as good as we could at the time. - however, are there any Union SG;s that could host 8-10 people for a few pracice sessions in arena.

    Few games, with diff setups and tactics, just for practice and fun.

    We would welcome anyone is the same shoes as us who has a large active SG that wish to introduce PVP to some members and to simply improve in a unknown feild with a large format and multi AT based squad.

    If so leave a message here or contact me in game.

  5. Although that sounds fun too, but I'd rather us not escape from the point of the original post. and thats our SG wants to have a few battles in the arena so we can sort ourselves out as in what works well, what does'nt and to also introduce some other members into PVP.

    However after we have achived this, sure a union v Defient can also be arranged should there be enough.

    Last time it was all LVL1's servers were packed with people stood about missing a lot

    How about doing it in teirs?

    i.e All to the arena at lvl 1 LMS FFA game..
    Then all level to 2 and try again, 3 then 4

    Will be interesting to see the differnces it makes.. and lets face it. takes a few moments to get to lvl 4, just a suggestion to make it more fun...a bit.

    I know your are a ranger.. but a mixture of AT's would be better for us to train against?

    Just a friendly post to ask if any SG's out there want a few hours of Arena matches this weekend. - Our SG want to look at a few possibilities of diff setups and therfor wish to train with another team/SG

    Not sure on exact numbers but poss 5+ any AT's are welcome.
    Not doing it for the win, but for testing (aswell as fun)

  14. hmm Clear mind is an important tool in your set as a empath. Sure o2 boost can work. Steamy mist is not _that_ reliable you can still get held and cant always depend on being inside the aura.(depends how the fight and chaos is spread) - also the defender/controler who has 02.. who will CM him?

    when I use my empath im spaming CM sometimes just as much as I do with heals. - and as harps said. Leaping ppol and acrobatics can really save you from a lot of hassle..a team mate in trouble is a nightmare if you are on your back for perioids of time.

    Depending on how you want to take it. but my Empath is lvl 34. I dont have stamina and tbh dont think I will either. I have been in some realy hectic moments where im constanly active and my END bar just has not moved. and as RA recharges in 3 mins or so then should be ok with that.

    If you want to get attacks then Stamina is usefull but you said you wanted to be a pure empath..personally I'd get rid of a lot of your attacks and get the leaping pool for your own security and SJ in missions can be a real help.
  15. nope I totaly disagree, DA has enough END problems even after ED to support just those attacks. you are a regen so you dont have this problem. for me barb and lunge get used later on when my end is low for sustained fights, throwspines/ripper always get used first or untill end is draining. - we are DA we dont have your luxory. and as for epics..I only took the gaze hold as its a very useful power in PVE and PVP.. Why would I take LBE and energy torrent? Im a AOE Scrapper want to keep them close not push them away...

    diff builds require diff powers, I use it a lot and has served me very well. - depends how and when you use it that matters. for DA, our END is a problem.. if we are in long battles, then we need to resort to less end efficent powers to carry on the fight until our End is recharged. so barb and impale use little end so is therfore our savour.

Spines are in fact one of the better tools for PVP, OK, they deal less damage than the rest of the scrappers AT's but. they have speed. so less DMG, but more attacks over time really does amount to a better outcome in PVP fights. plus if paired with DA, then you have additional dmg dealing powers (deathshroud)

    Impale is very useful for flyers and paired with Buildup your looking at decent dmg. add 3 dmg, 2 acc and 1 recharge and you will see that you use this on a regular basis. the beauty of it.. it costs very little end.

    Another useful one for PVP is Barb Swipe, this is a power that most people miss.. I on the other hand take this as its a good power to use while waiting for the more important dmg powers to recharge, so its a "fill in power" again very little end cost. and slotted correctly does about 80/100 dmg.. Ok its not much, but also consider than Im running DS (25 per tick) and quills ( about 25 a tick too) so thats an extra 50 dmg every 2 secs) - then add OG and they are disoriented and ready to drop..(blasters/trollers/defenders) tanks/scrappers mainly have res to this so its tougher and is more about pure combat rather than status effects.

    I have all the primary attacks with my spines scrapper, and can tackle almost anything, if you open the dark mastery pool and get the dark hold "petryfying glaze" it works a treat.

    Spines/DA is a great combo, and I had very much fun talking it to 50. great damage and very usefull. its weakness are your not as strong in defence as others and can only realy trust on your dark generation for your survival in long battles. but its aim is too get in, kill quick and get out!, however in PVP this does not count.

    Lots of Slows from spines/add recharge to Dark regen/ buildup and lots of fast power attacks should see you through..

    The mass downside to a spines/DA is a energy blaster!.. toggle drops.. then you need about half hour to turn the 50000 toggles back on! arrgh!

    You Need to get the SG healing badge for this. - then you can unlock the "Auto-Doc" and that will give you inspirations to use.

    But for us, the Healing SG badge does not seem to work. - have been doing normal missions with empath's. healing away, and the bar is always in the same position for the last 2 weeks. - where I have heard others say that they have done this in a day???

    So confused really...
  19. afaik, instant raids, anything can be destroyed, but for an IoP raid its a bit more serious and must emply a repair drone or 2 to repair any broken items.. (if repairable)

    At least this is what I understand.. I may be wrong..
  20. personally, I want to raid/be raided first for practice using the instant raid, that way get practice etc. - no bases yet are full configured for choke points and mass defence systems, - so having a raidable base with an IoP is a waste of time.. imo

    If anyone wants to do some base raiding with us. then give me a shout ingame as zor. or PM me here

    Freelancing

    to be honest, I think this idea is a waste..I mean the whole point of SG bases/Raids is a SG effort.. members you have played the game with since day dot. - we would never want to have the feelin of lets hire people..that would be very degrading in my book, our SG is social and fun, we like to keep it that way. we earn our own prestige and build our base the way we like on our own terms and prestige. and not by somone who keeps spamming other SG's for this and that reason.

    Also a lot of SG's dont have 5 mil inf just to throw for 100k prestige..(100k prestige is a days work) 5 mil is not!.. most people that play in SG mode now need all the inf they can get, and the ones that do have the inf is shared around the SG for the greater good!.

    Also it can lead to problems later on. You will know what people have, security wise, or base layout... sure you can have an advantage that way but think of the team that you were hired by, and you saying.. Right lads the power gen is here, and IoP is here etc..I just dont buy the idea. although apparently lots of people do...

    Good Build

    Personally I hated propel, its time consuimg in the heat of the moment (animation) and is end heavy. - although pre-32 its the best attack you have, post 32, and onto epics, get firemastery to really show the devil in you. for PVE its awsome and likewise for PVP. >> Hold, Debuff, and Fire!, scrappers/tankers are never a threat to me, (specialy if you take leadership pool) you will be immune to most taunts. Blasters Snipe is the most dangerous, as they are out of range of your holds. // Anything ice is hard, and controlers, I fear Illusion, as once decived your Storm and pet turn against you, and thats not a nice thing to have in the middle of a pvp fight

    My tactics were to blend them to the nearest corner., Debuff with rain, and use Storm to toggle drop, and use the fire to do my main part of DMG, for me wormhole wasnt effective enough and slowed me down lots. - as a controler you need to keep moving and staying away from those long range blasters. - keep moving, see target, Thunderclap toggle drops and hold. Pets then slow, use fire to dmg, and Storm to finsh them off. - it all sounds so simple in words.. but to play a grav/storm is hard and certainly keeps you on your toes.

    You rely on recharge so add an extra one in all powers. - Never had a problem with end at all with my build.

    Stormys are great for pvp and fun to play.. But when I turn the tables and fight a stormy... damm anoying having a taste of your own medicine..

Yeah Grav/Storm has so far been the most fun Ive had in the game to date. - The Grav set (if used correctly) can offer the best set of holds there is, (Max slot for +ACC) and you wont go far wrong. Storm on the otherhand is a tricky one, lots of knockback powers, use the grav to lock them down, and simply Unleesh the storm!.

    I have heard so many times on here that the Tornado power is the worst. - well I'd like to clear up a point.. tornado is one of the best powers that a Strom troller can have. for PVP it offers -slow and disorient and does good DOT damage. Its more of a situational power or a panic button. for example, never use it in a team if you have tanks or scrappers present..you wont be too popular. But for AV's and for Solo/purple Bosses etc its awsome. and the same goes for PVP. for those that complain about it are not using the storm set correctly, or dont have the ability to lock a group down first.

    If you get the Fire mastery at 41, you will soon be doing more damage than a scrapper and a tanker put together.
  25. Once you have a 8 room base, with 6 dimesional Anchors and hold an IoP (from the SG Mission computer thats not yet active) then you have a raidable base. Although not advisable at that point as you will have no defence or structure in place to withhold defence from an attackers team.

    You will need to switch the plot to a secure plot, and then have choke points installed that you can add gunnery and other defence into. (bearing in mind your power and control can get attacked in a raid) - this costs millions 3 mil prestige for the basic secure plot size that wont really benifit a good raidable base. so start with the next size up, I think thats 5 mil and thats JUST for the plot size. - then you need an extra 150-400k per room size, then choke points, (very expensive) and then equiptment on top of that. so looking at about 10-15 mil before you even have anything worthy, well thats at least for a fully raidable IoP base. - However you can ignore all the above if you just want a instant raid base, where IoP does not matter, and items if destroyed are automatically repaired, more for fun than anything else really.

    The above is not based on actual figures, just a guestimate as Im at work so cant tell you what things cost. - You can try and read the US boards for more accurate information as they already have fully raidable bases it seems.
