  1. Have any of these other games introduced the capacity to inflict misery, pain and destruction upon Rhode Island?

    I thought not. ^_^

I do think you have missed the point ever so slightly here.

Imagine, if you will, a British-made film depicting the battle of Midway that ends up going very badly for the US. Then, when the Japanese are on the very cusp of victory a group of King George V battleships and Illustrious carriers steam into view and single-handedly wipe out the Imperial fleet and save the day.

We all know how our transatlantic cousins would react to such butchery of their proud moments in history. Yet they feel other nations are overreacting when they express those exact same sentiments.

Ultimately, I think people are more annoyed by the hypocrisy than anything else.

Oh, and U-571 was an appallingly bad film .
  4. I suspect Lord Recluse would have enjoyed Vic and Bob's 'Families at War,' had it gone into full production:

Ah, that 'C' word. There was a time when it had none of the negative and ostensibly vulgar connotations (ah, my Thesaurus just burst into flames) it does today.

A shame really, I quite like it...... in a linguistic sense that is! Other senses are not for here. ¬_¬

So we get to blame it on Brits.
You may want to research 'f**got gatherer' as that appears to be what you are thinking of. In any case there is no connection between that and the US term for gay men.

I think we can officially blame the yanks for this one.

Both meanings are derived from a word which essentially means a bundle of sticks.
Quite why the Americans felt the need to turn this into a derogatory term for homosexual and/or effeminate men I is something I probably don't want to know. Among many other things.

Clever use of .png transparencies I thought. Made me laugh.
  10. The worst part of beer is the aftertaste. Gach!

My parents are real beer connoisseurs, as such I've tried quite a variety of the more expensive brands and they all taste the same.
    Dreadful.

Tea and juice 'till I die! And, maybe the occasional glass or two of Rosé with a meal...
  11. I like these ideas. ^_^

Contacts reacting to player interaction would be nice too (client-side of course.) Things like the explain and lecture emote.

But what I really want is for the contact and player to use the cellphone emote when they make a long-distance interaction.

Imagine them doing that while standing next to each other.
  12. Have they added Rikti to Google Translate yet?
  13. Time Control could have been represented by boosts to movement speed, health/energy regeneration and cooldown reduction. Their opposites could have been utilised as debuffs against foes.
A hold that takes the target out of time for a brief period could also be a possibility, useful for enemies and allies alike.

So it's likely that Hasten and the Kinetics set what that power eventually evolved into.
  14. Just for the record, it's 'cheque' not 'check.'

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree! All varieties are nice, but I like raspberry the most.
Anything that has raspberries in makes me so very happy.
  18. Marmite, mushy peas and Jammie Dodgers are all well-and-good, but does nobody care for Black Pudding (Boudin noir and Blutwurst as our French and German friends know it) at all?

    I just love it!
  19. Other people from Britain?
    On these forums?
This I did not expect! Well, not more than a handfull at least. ^_^

Hello to you all. It's nice that we can all converse here even if we can't in the game.

Wow, those look great! At first I was really impressed with Jessica Raleigh, since I've had a lot of difficulty trying to get a UK look on one of my alts. But, then when I saw Tanya...hooboy. Both are awesome.

    Thanks!

I stumbled upon Jessica's outfit by chance. As I was playing with the wedding tuxedo I noticed the white trim resembled St. Andrew's cross and went from there.

I was rather pleased with Tanya, especially when I got the cape at 20. It really just rounded off the whole design. Sadly I can never settle on any alternative costumes as I like the first too much.
