Wait, why is Maelstrom's Origin "Mercenary Super-powered Soldier"
O.o -
Finally! I made a few toons the wrong height a long time ago, finally I can change this!

On the plus side, if it's unbanned it'll be unbannable forever unless you edit it

Now, NOPE. Just log into atlas and get on a team and BANG, a new person can get stuck in there and never learn that there is more.
[/ QUOTE ]
This isn't directed at you personally, but this wording is something I see used very often in similar posts. "Get stuck", as though they don't have a quit button on their team window like everyone else.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately, newbies don't know they can use it. If you're told that's what we do in the game, as a newbie, that's what they'll believe. They're more likely to Quit the game than quit the team.
[ QUOTE ]
The other thing I've seen a lot is people making it sound as though 50s and other high levels are actively wrangling new people. From what I've seen, there's FAR more low level people hitting up Broadcast LOOKING for a team than the reverse. From the description some people use (again, not you personally), it comes across like lvl 50 fire/kins are hiding in corners in Atlas, whispering to newbies "hey.. you want some xp? I got the good stuff." like drug dealers or some such nonsense.
[/ QUOTE ]
Level has nothing to do with it. Jaded Vets are PLing their alts. -
Give mine a go if you so wish
Marked Man (3463) and/or The Perfect Drug (244209). -

Oh well. Enjoy your power leveling and lazy style of play while you can because it wont last forever.
[/ QUOTE ]
What makes you think he power levels and is lazy?
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't speak for Nethergoat but I'm very anti-farm/anti-PL and I still think a blanket nerf to AE rewards is stupid and will cause people to stop using it. -

Ahh, welcome to the beauty of economy. Can you say greed boys and girls?

You are wrong. MA missions are being used by the majority to farm and power level. That was not the intent. Reduce the rewards by half and let the MA missions be for story telling.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll bold it so maybe you get the point.
Nobody is going to waste their game time on junk that pays out 1/2 rewards
Except those five RP'ers.
It needs competitive rewards to be useful and the devs know this.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I'll bold this so you may get the point:
You are wrong.
See how that clears things up?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, Nether is correct. Whatever problems we all have with the AE, a blanket nerf of rewards is most definitely not the way to go. -

Maybe only malformed custom groups could have reward nerfs? Like say, a group with just one enemy in it means you'll get 1/4 XP for defeating them. I doubt this will effect any legitimate players/creators.
[/ QUOTE ]
But what counts as a malformed group? If I have a group of all electric blast enemies, does it get lower XP because a /elec brute can wade through them 20 deep without getting scratched, even though they could splatter most other characters? If you say yes because that would make them potentially farmable, does that mean that you lose XP for making a Winter Horde story arc? It's a very hard thing to define in a way that won't just lead to people gaming the system or normal arcs having penalties.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, an Invuln tanker can wade through anything that's smashing/lethal like it's not there.
And really, I don't think custom critters are the problem so much as custom groups with regular enemies. -

Another way to look at it is that if you do get the right purple drop, you can sell it and be set for life.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's the only reason I want Purples
[ QUOTE ]
I am still surprised to this day that no one has setup a place for players who hate the markets to trade IOs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably because you can't cross server trade. -
[ QUOTE ]
Also, the meaning of the location markers was incorrect in the help text last I looked - Xs are supposed to be boss/patrol spawns while Os are rescues, but the help text says the opposite.
[/ QUOTE ]
That would make sense based on my experiences. -
Dollars you say?
[ QUOTE ]
There's just no way the casual player is ever going to afford a purple recipe now - or is that the idea?
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct, casual players do not care about purple sets, because they are not needed. In fact, I'd say most casual players don't care about IO sets at all.
(If you do care about purples, you might want to re-evaluate if you're actually casual or not )
I'm not a casual player and even I only have a few sets dotted on various characters. -
[ QUOTE ]
I never use in-game email, so I'd like to be able to turn it off, if only to not have to bother with deleting the spam to get rid of the distracting red text that accompanies new messages.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the red text annoying. If they did something about that, I could happily go back to ignoring the email function like I always have -
No, absolutely no need to fill them unless the mission can actually be failed.
-
The first thing to happen is someone would make you fight their [censored].
The enemies would be huge models and would have the height and body sliders set to max.
It's also why this'd never happen -
Yeah, the markers seem to be rather vague...
-
If you're still accepting arcs to review, you can try Marked Man (3463) and/or The Perfect Drug (244209).

A friend led me to the Matrix room inside the Arena once. That was before I got my new system and lost the screenies I had taken.

Such an awesome room than never got used -
Okay, I currently have two arcs up, it'd be cool if you guys could play and rate them
Marked Man
Arc ID: 3463
Suggested level range: 25-50 (Suggested).
Length: 4 missions
Morality: Villainous
Enemy groups: Custom group, Circle of Thorns.
Description: My first arc that I made, recently updated to make it I15 compliant. After stealing a gemstone on what you thought was going to be an easy job, you are now marked by its immortal and relentless guardian. You'll need to free yourself of it's curse or eventually you will be just another victim!
The Perfect Drug
Arc ID: 244209
Suggested level range: 35-50
Length: 5 missions
Morality: Heroic
Enemy group: Council
Description: I made this arc to take advantage of some of I15's new options as well as make things a bit more complicated, while still staying coherent and easy for the player to get. After you save a hero from the clutches of the Council, he gives you information that shows the Council are working on something that could be extremely bad news for Paragon City and the world.
Any way, there they are, please play and please enjoy and vote as you wish -

Everytime i see this thread, it seens plain wrong...
I am sooo glad the forum people isnt majority on this game...
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing is, I think a lot of us here see this driving newbies away, and without newbies joining and staying, the game will die. It's all well and good to say "let everyone do what they want" but I'd rather limit disruptive game styles and still have a game to play in 2-5 years time rather than let everyone do "what they want" and not be able to play the game any more because it's become unprofitable. -

and shouldn't be too much trouble on the part of the devs.

AE buildings out of Atlas, Galaxy and King's Row, yesterday.
[/ QUOTE ]
A better solution: make the level of the AE mission dependent on the level of the zone, the same way that radio missions are. That is, if you're in Atlas, you can only play AE missions that are up to level 10. If you're in KR, you can run AE missions up to level 15. In PI and GV you can get any level mission.
That means that newbies have to go to PI or GV to run those auto-SK-to-46 farming missions.
It'll hearken back to the "good old days" of PLing at Portal Corp, and reduce the double whammy of AE and costume contests in Atlas.
[/ QUOTE ]
You'll still have broadcast spam for AE farms though.
