hmmm you might not need it but you will definaty find it faster much faster i have done farms like that. you don't need it but it really helps against when all of your aoe's are down on bosses you don't need it but lol i helps lots -

yes it does uses its heal.. but i only seem to see it do it only if the toon drops below half life.. then mine which is teir 2 heals me for 250 ever 2secs or so till im full strength.. It also heals the other offensive pet..
