  1. Arc Name: Synaptic Field Test
    Arc ID: 53003
    Faction: Villainous
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @Foxfirega/MikoReimu
Difficulty Level: Moderate (dangerous in numbers)
Synopsis: You've been hired at a very high comission to participate in a field test of the Synaptic Security force. All you have to do is beat the ever-loving snot out of a few enforcers, collect a file at the end of the mission, and turn it in. What could possibly be easier?
Estimated Time to Play: 15 minutes

Author's Note: I'd really like any feedback regarding your opinion of the combat capabilities of the Synaptic Security force, and in particular how you feel they fare in a group environment. I'll caution you, however, and say that pulling large amounts of them is really not advised. They're designed to be a passing threat in small numbers, but stack up like Legos. Evil legos.

Also, any design ideas you can give on the uniforms would be great. They've changed a LOT since test, and while I'm happy with it, we- er, I - would like to provide a quality viewing experience for those unfortunate enough to deal with them.

EDIT: Thought I should mention that this is merely an information gathering arc with a bit of a loose RP reasoning behind it - it's only temporary, and will only last until I finish the dialogue for Competitive Interests (soon to be published on Live! Complete with updates to the missions; Should actually require you to get to the end to complete now), as a means to test out the Skittles without forcing someone to do the entire arc. Completion time listed is if you're only going for the glowie, as it's a fairly large map. If you actually clear it, it may take up to twice that amount of time.

You can PM me here with feedback, or mail Karen Stelvind.

Gender equality nao! Hello Kitty Cannons for males and huges!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Sure, why not.

No reason boys can't feel pretty, too.

Do you wanna come to my tea party? You'd have to RSVP now, though.

[/ QUOTE ]Mr. Fluffy doesn't do RSVP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, we can't guarantee a seat, then. Because, yanno, this is a veeery exclusive tea party, that has such a long waiting list, and stuff. Plus we only have so many seats for tea, and there's, like. A LOT. Of stuffed animals that have already RSVP'd for it, and they do get first shot.

We'll call you if we have an opening, though.

[/ QUOTE ]Mr. Fluffy makes his own seat.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That sounds more like a personal problem and you should reeaally see a doctor for it.

This suggestion is bad, and you should feel bad. :<

(WARNING: This post may quite possibly be in jest. )
  6. ...Darn, Silver Mantis is hawt in that.

In a totally creepy way. Because she weirds me out.
  7. I'll run through it later. :3 Just debating on whom. >>
  8. I'd consider it, but the only instance I saw of it being offered in an MMO was, specifically, for those people that were upgrading from Beta to Live, or for people buying in the first month (Founders, essentially).

I mean, I can't fault the logic there - as a long term plan, it's kind of silly (development costs would need to be covered somewhere, and after a point there's not a lot for it left depending on the number of people that switch up), and wouldn't exactly be upset if it was exclusive.

I'd definately give it serious consideration if they offered it up and I was eligible, though.

Still Waiting For People Who Can Draw Art Aren't Afriad of Critques To Post. No One That Fits That Yet I See.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It could be because you've yet to prove that you can provide any critique at all with anything relating to clarity or sufficient detail, given the woeful number of typing (you don't need to capitalize every letter, for example, that's just plain silly) errors, general failings of punctuation, and outright grammatical butchery.

You may very well be, as you claim, a '[Professional] Art Drawer' (though I'm not sure what that means, exactly. How is that different then an artist, other then the number of keystrokes involved? You see what I mean about grammatical failings here?), but I fail to see where at any point in time that gives you A) the right to critique other people's work (And I will say right now, being a 'professional artist' is a qualification against your ability to critique without bias), or B) do so in an easily understandable manner.

I'd like to declare troll on this, because at least that's less offensive then assuming you have no idea what you're talking about or how to maintain basic English niceties on an internet forum (Which is akin to not being able to speak proper English in real life - If you want to discuss things on an Internet Forum, do so in something we can all bloody understand).

And I mean all of this with the best of intents and interests at heart, and apologize deeply in advance for being unable to word it any better then I have here. It's a rough week for me. :/

  14. Could've just been a misreading, then. I've been going through a lot of mental stress today. >.> And my reading comprehension is a little low as a result. :/

Ah well, not like I haven't been wrong before.

And likely will be wrong again in the future (probably soon).
  15. [ QUOTE ]
It might be a violation. I'm sure someone could look it up for me. I'm just tired of getting PMs about this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I can certainly understand it, but breaking the forum guidelines is really the worst possible way to go about it.

Flag it as harrassment, and go about your business. This won't help, and may encourage further annoyances in the future, or get you in trouble.
  16. Even though I'm all for drama, calling people out for stuff like that is kind of dirty pool, and might possibly be against the EULA for the forums.

EDIT: And, indeed, it's a violation of Rule 4.
  17. Random thought:

Shouldn't participation in the event be worth more then whatever puny recognition by anyone else?

I see arguments like 'It's just a little plaque', and all I can think is 'That's not even remotely the point of the event in question' in response.

The event was done... because people liked it (I'm assuming). It got where it was through mutual interest and in the spirit of having fun. While I think it's great that it's going to have it's 60th session, and wish it much luck in getting to it's 100th and beyond, I can't really see where any of this is necessary at all.

Would you put a plaque up in a real life convention hall, to commemorate it being the site of the 5th annual underwater basketweavers convention*? Not really. Do you put a plaque up in a park for the same reason? I'd sure hope not.

It takes time and money for this sort of thing - and while it may not seem like a lot to you, and it may not even be an expensive plaque for a real-life event, it's still costing someone somewhere money. There's all sorts of forms (memos) you have to fill out (and send) to various departments (people) to get the licenses (green light) and approval to even start designing (Same link for gaming industry) the plaque itself, then pay to have it manufactured (coded) to be put in the game by an expert (world designer - Hi War Witch!), that I start to think it's not worth the effort.

However, I do urge you to, perhaps, submit something to the City Scoop, at the very least. Everyone involved with the management and running of the event deserves a thumbs-up, at the least, and a 'Hell yeah!' for all their hard work and dedication these past five years.

I just don't think this is the way to do it.

(*Disclaimer: Put whatever ridiculous thing you want in there, I tried hard to come up with something that was at least inoffensive. To all of you people that do, indeed, practice underwater basketweaving, I thus humbly apologize in the most sincere fashion possible. You have the right to be a freak, too, just like the rest of us!)

  19. Everyone does, brohan.

But, sometimes, if you truly love something, you have to let it go.

I see no valid reason that you have to go so freaking slow while using it. Seriously, it has an end drain to compensate for the small defense boost it offers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's extra endurance cost stems from it's ability to allow you to travel in any direction on the X, Y, or Z axis. That's the reason it costs more, not the defense boost, as Combat Jumping has the same defense boost and costs significantly less.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Movement in any direction, and staying there once you stop moving. (Unless you get hit with -Fly, anyway.)

Minor addition, but for me, that's a pretty significant one.
  21. Not much can be done about the levels, but you could use respecs to at least pull your purple/expensive sets out 10 at a time, and store them in a personal base (even if you and a friend have to make a small SG just to facilitate it) until you can transfer them over (keeping the 'keys' so to speak on an alt). Unless you already have a sufficient personal base.

It is a regrettable circumstance, though. :/

Actually, the proper suggestion should be about making NPC (Pets) smarter.
*To NPC pet* "Hey, you see that wall you're running into?.....GO *AROUND* IT!!!!" or in this case: "TURN OFF
    YOUR *ROCK* FORM, IDIOT!!!"

Yes, I've ran that mish repeatedly.

    [/ QUOTE ]

He can't turn it off - The NPC AI doesn't react very well to toggles, and all of them are changed to clicks instead. So, yelling at him to turn off a click power is kiiind of silly.
  24. *Duct-tapes Juggy to the forums.*

    ...What?

:3 All the same, welcome back, mang. And some very sweet stuff, too! I may have to poke around at costumes later today, again...
  25. The before shot seems to be the best, to me.

While the After shot is, certainly, a lot cleaner and less busy, I don't think it was necessarily a bad thing in the original costume. All of the pieces were used well, it was tied together nicely, and the color choices fit in decently.

You could probably go in-between on it (maybe the skull shoulderpads/chest, with the differently colored arm and losing the clavicle spikes), and come out looking fairly nice, as well. But, between the two, the former seems to be a bit better.

Though the latter is not without it's merits either - it's clean, simple, and very well colored.
