Tabitha tried the burritos.
Nuff said. -
I agree. It'd solve the age-old posts of "where can I find the most pvp server?"

Quote:Gave, past tense. I don't think they still do - but I might be wrong on that. Most lifetime sub offers are limited runs. Most lifetime offers are for games which don't appear to have the lifespan this one already has.oh im sorry i was under the impression that LoTR online gave lifetime subs and they still sell them on shelves.
Right now, if they offered a 200$ lifetime for this game, I would take it. I'd have to swipe money from my mother's accounts, but I'd take it. However, I'm perfectly happy with the yearly subscription offer and the extra-month bits.
This game's worth my money. -
I will throw an educated guess, that to add any more skeletal or nodes on a character, it does require a different engine.
We could use upgraded hands - but that's purely visual, we don't NEED individual fingers to work like fingers in, say, Half Life 2 or something. It'd be nice to be able to have something other than mittens. (but then, that's why if I want fingers or nails, I use the Zombie Thin hands/feet or Monsterous.)
A walk animation is something that's not currently on the table because it'd require the character to like, turn off powers or *be* a power, or some such. I saw one great workaround where the walk animation is actually just 'extremely slowed movement', but it wouldn't look like "walking". -
Hahah, he's like, "I don't know what just happened, but I think I liked it!"
I love Brandon's work -
There might be 75 PLAYERS who are interested at once, maybe, sorta. Getting them all on together, on the same server... not so likely lol.
-
With the new I16 character generator and tailor screens... maybe this might become possible. I hope. I totally need more.
-
Though I just posted these in another thread a couple days ago, and like,... 2 years back with the original Motivator thread... here goes!
And a lolcat from waaaaay back

Quote:"Precident" means it occurred before now. That game isn't even out of beta yet, please don't bring it into this. I'm talking about established games - oh, say, like Eve or Wow or EQ or whatever that have been *around* with this issue to be solved too. Plus: CO does not have full respecs from what I've heard, thus moot point anyway.
-
I'd love to be able to earn, construct OR buy more slots. Earn or construct them per-character, buy them in lots globally. I think the main issue is, not that they aren't willing to do so, they might not have the proper setup for another extra slot yet. Remember, when they started with the "extra 5th slot" all characters have that slot SHOWING, but not AVAILABLE on their character. We were all, "what's that last one for? aaaaare we getting a new slot?!?" I would have to wonder if they'd have 10 slots shown, as an example, but only if you earn/buy whatever them, they're not accessable? that'd be kinda sloppy on the screen.
new interface anyone? -
I rarely get higher than 30, at times...
I don't think that the graphics in this game are in any way "poor" - especially considering that it's an MMO. Not considering it's an "older" mmo, it's graphics are way ahead of the curve as far as I've seen for most other games of this type. i prefer the realistic look to the cartoony crap elsewhere and yes this means CO as well as WOW and the others.
Point is though, that this game will run on darn near any system, and if too many "improvements" are made, that just won't happen any more. Already there are people who *cannot enter some zones* because of the graphics and lag on their systems, and I'm not talking about ancient computers, either. They can certainly refine the images but there's no need to really go overboard and overhaul too much - it's great the way it is, there IS room for visual improvement but honestly... not much. -
Well, to be fair, we did the same thing with COV and RV, in our beta... though not necessarily just FOR the event, more for testing purposes...
-
I did, but it was pretty clearly last wave lol
It looks good - there are some odd bugs I've been reporting, just little things so far. Since I primarily solo I still dont' have the chance to test anything bigger for em. -
Well, on that note though, how many other games actually do supply such things? I don't know, I don't play any others so I'm clueless. IS there precident set from other mmos?

@Coyote: I'm not taking it the wrong way, just pointing out that there are already plenty of ways to get around this issue, already.
Myself, I'm notoriously bad at respecs. Really, really bad.
The last ones I think I'm running about 1/3 botched, I managed to screencap my enhancement screen and figure out what I wanted out of the other two. Normally I was running at least 4/5 botched, but I hardly ever really DO respecs, just tweaking.
Since I just hit 60 months I respecced a character out of teleport and into flight, and actually only needed that one-page printout and *thinking*.
Mids is there, test is there (mostly), and really - we've got so many respec options now it's not even funny. If you want to claim "those of us who were there then" - you've GOT what, at least 3 vetspecs on every single toon you make, including level 1's. They're available on the market. They're repeatable in the game with trials.
... Thinking and being meticulous about what you want out of each respec is more important than a quicker "I might forget what I did anyway but let's test it out" feature.
Im' not saying that the respec process couldn't be cleaned up a lot, but there are so MANY of them out there, and so many helpful guides and such... I don't think it is really that insane to think it'd be unnecessary. -
Holy crap, yeah, congratulations!

No really, the test server is where you can do everything you need to, you can even duplicate your toon several times over to have enough inf to buy those expensive items, provided they're available there (which is rare lol).
Yes, the test server is unavailable in those few times when it's being used *as a beta server* which is its actual pointed use.
But we have plenty of respecs, plenty of chances to tweak and change really without repercussions.
Wait it out. Make a new toon and play it for a while before the test server opens again. I know it's frustrating - I made a contest toon there, right before it went to closed, and haven't been able to rework or even get a screenshot of him since. But... I'll live. You will too. -

There is a big difference between the added particle physics of rain and snow, as opposed to just changing the color of the sky.
Remember that the game can only render a certain number of things on screen for each person, and beyond that number things *just do not appear*.
Rikti raids, any time there are more than a handful of people around? Notice well that if you back up, you see different things popping in and out of your view.
Add rain? Snow? No thanks. I wouldn't mind there being more basic effects like the Halloween / Zombie attacks and the Rikti raids, as well as fog like in DA, but honestly... it's not necessary, and it's been said by devs that it's just not something they're looking at doing. It *could* be done. It's just... too consuming on resources for this engine. -
That's excellent work! You've got all the basic ideas pretty well covered, so it's just some specific things I could say to improve it:
Watch her torso direction - her upper shoulders to around her breasts are kind of facing one way, while her waist is going another. It's okay, but it looks a tiny bit odd to me.
Watch the eyes - a little cleanup digitally could change the left eye to match the right.
Aside from that, sheesh - good work! -
"no" springs to mind.
There are reasons why our powers work the way they do, and are restricted to the archetypes we have. Because other ways *do not work*. they aren't fun.
"Tankmages" are not fun - for anyone BUT the tank mage, and generally speaking in a game with them, it's also a game which can easily be gimped by inexperienced players. It's no fun being around a tank mage either - because there's nothing else to do.
As it is, Controllers often can tank pretty well, in different ways. But tank/defenders are harder, and I'd rather keep that to people who know what they're doing with specific powersets from either tank or defender, instead of just being "allowed" to mix and match. -
I've considered trying to make a challenge map for AE, informal of course, "make it through this ambush-ridden map filled with snipers, with your Vet Pet intact"
