Have access to your other toons as pets

This is basically in use at the AE. it's not possible to have "your" characters because of the way logging in to them works. But that shouldn't stop you from getting a team of yourself remade in the AE.
Also, with the new difficulty levels, this shouldn't really be an issue.

While I think the idea of having access to your other characters directly as fully functional pets might be a bit overpowered and unbalanced it did give me an idea for a similar suggestion that might be a bit more doable:
Allow for a pet that's pretty much exactly like the 36 month Vet pets (i.e. holograms with no in-game abilities) but allow us to create their appearance using the costume creator. The net effect is the ability to have a "sidekick" that follows us around like the Vet pets do but it'd look like anything we wanted it to look like.
I think that would make for an awesome future Vet award.

- the AI sucks. so an AI controlled character would be stupider than a human controlled character
- debuff the "main" by a set percentage when they have pet side kicks
- debuff the pets by amounts directly proportional to how many you have
main is weaker -> pet(s) = the loss -> 1 pet = 7 pets -> 0 net gain/loss

But I've also run entire missions without having them die on me. Of course there's usually at least one of two things going on with that. I'm either 1) soloing with a ranged oriented character so my Vet pet stays safely far away from MOBs or 2) I've been in teams that so completely buff the Vet pets up that they stay alive. That's how I've for example used them with my Brutes before.
They certainly aren't easy to use and are clearly more useful to some ATs than others, but they aren't -totally- useless.
Anyway my idea for "customizable pets" would probably be based on the non-killable hologram style Vet pets anyway.

I've considered trying to make a challenge map for AE, informal of course, "make it through this ambush-ridden map filled with snipers, with your Vet Pet intact"

I was thinking about this last night as I awoke from a bad dream. What if it was possible to have access to your other toons as pets to help you out in battle? It would go something like this:
Every toon would have ability to access their other "created" toons that they have on the server at will, like pets. These toons will have the full access to their power sets as they would normally have when being played. You would only be allowed to have 7 toons as pets for a 8 person team. Each toon will only be active for only 4 to 5 minutes with a long recharge. Each toon you access will "auto level " to your level so your level 50 Blaster will drop down to your level unless you are a level 50. You would only be able to access one type of Alt. per pet,..e.g. one Blaster, one Tanker, one Stalker, etc. This would eliminate the crazy potential for an all Master Mind team which would tilt the dominance in the players favor. You can only access these pets while playing solo. Again, to eliminate the chaos that would ensue with toons running rampant.
So what do you guys think? I know some might say this would "kill" team play since this would only be available in solo play. Others might think this would upset the continuity of the game and the way it is played. I don't know, but it was just a thought that I had to put down on this thread to start up a conversation. Any other ideas that are geared towards this, please feel free to add to this thread.
