Quote:Yeah, no one will be calling you a 'noob healer' on any of my teams. We save that for Cobalt when he's on his Dark Defender. As a Defender, it's one of the things you think about: you let the tank die, so now he's in your face as a "noob healer" and your playing experience starts to dwindle. Hasn't happened yet on Champion for me (and I've seen tanks die... ><).
It has been nice to team with you so far. (I was on Fleur Noire running AVs.) Feel free to send me a tell if you experience any trouble finding a team, though it doesn't look like you've had a hard time with that as of late. -
Wednesdays should work for me. See everyone there!
(Dazz's banner-making skills FTW. ) -
Congrats to everyone on a highly successful evacless raid! Very smooth.
Thanks to Cherry for organizing it for us. -

You can put me on the reserves list, since it'll depend on what day/time you choose.

Quote:It's a suggestion. The thread is titled as such and it's in the 'Suggestions and Ideas' forum.how about we wait and see what the developers plans are for Issue 19 before trying to make the plans for them?
therefor: /unsigned to an extent I'm not sure can be communicated in any known language.
I don't think it should be that difficult to appreciate it for what it is. -
Sounds like fun.
Congrats on going strong for 5 years! All the best. -
Sorry Kahlan, looks like I was 'not there' due to working late.
Hope it went well. -
Quote:I think Net has a point.I object.
We cannot have these raids every other Saturday. That is a total outrage. I mean, if we start having this along with the Strike Forces on Fri/Sat, people will start to play the red side. This cannot happen. Everyone thinks the red side sucks and that is has poor content, etc. If people start leveling up villians, and experience some of the funnest arcs in the game, then word will spread and more people will play red side. And with that will come a glut of IOs on the market which will savagly cut into my fat profit margins. On behalf of the Evil Marketers Anonymous, I must denounce your actions and send forth a legion of packet eating daemons upon thee.
=)
Also, a higher population of villains will mean the death of more kittens. After all the kitten sacrifices made at last night's Hami raid, I'm not sure we can afford this endeavor without risking extinction of the species.
To summarize: bi-weekly villain raids = srs bsns. -
Quote:True story. Not entirely correct. Those o' us on Champion raid Hami nearly every Sunday, unless conflictin' with an in-game event such as Double XP or the like. I also wouldn't go as far as to say that it's directly due to population issues (i.e. not enough people showin' up). As it's stated in the Wiki, Champion led a sixteen-person raid, which just goes to show that you don't honestly need the fifty-ish people to pull it off. Sure, it'll go faster with more, but it still can be done with a lesser population o' raiders.
Judgin' from recent experience and dialogue between us and another server, the problem seems to stem from lack o' experience in the raid strategy. People will almost always come out for a raid if they know about it, they usually just don't know what to bring or how to go about it.
To The Coming Storm: I wouldn't assume that less populated servers have any more trouble kicking Hami in the jewels on a regular basis than servers with higher populations. I'm not sure where you read that information, but if you browse the forums of different servers, you'll see indications that there are Hami raids taking place, such as posted guides, or raiding schedules, raid team organization, etc.
Also, congrats to LSK! -
Great raid everyone! Special thanks to the raid leaders and to Llewthor.
As for regular raids, I won't be able to do every Saturday but I'll try to make it when I can. -
I'll try to bring my Controller, Fleur Noire, to the event if I'm available. It's only fitting.

Quote:I understand your frustration, but with the zone cap being 50, leaders have to zone in well in advance of the raid start time if they want to guarantee a spot. If the count in zone is climbing and it looks like one of the leads isn't going to make it, it's best to look for a new team leader at that point. Having flexibility in your leadership makes for strong leadership.Ok here is my 2 cents on a hami raid on this server. The problem with this server is that too many ppl are about I this and I that. The last raid that i lead was private up until about 1/2 hour before it started. It was planned with SG Coalitions and friends. We had all the main teams planned ahead of time. Then when it was time for the raid one of the team leaders were not able to get into the zone because it was full. We asked serveral times for anyone that was not on a team to leave the zone. Nothing happened. So i told everyone to move to hive 2 for the raid and several ppl left and went to hive 2 but we stayed and the leader of one of the teams was able to get in. Had it just been a friend that could not get in no big deal but he was part of what we planned. Then i got several hate tells from ppl so on so forth.
Quote:One of the reasons other servers do these on a regular basis is they don't have the selfish ppl that just won't coperate, and they don't have all the chatter in broadcast that happens on this server, it is mostly quiet so everyone knows what is going on.
Quote:I did 2 raids on vertue and it was ammazing how ppl listened and did what they are told. I am sure it can be done on this server on a regular basis but the right ppl need to be there and everyone needs to listen to what is going on. -
Welcome back, Fan Mail!
Good to see you again. -
There seems to be a bit of confusion surrounding when raids start, so I'd like to clarify it here.
Weekly raids are scheduled to start on Sundays at 7:30pm EST. We have been running community raids at this time since November 2008. Please note that teams will start forming up approximately 30+ minutes ahead of start time and continue to form as more people zone in. The raid leaders usually enter the zone early so as people start to log in, we can invite them to teams ASAP and not leave them hanging.
The zone caps at 50 people. After that, people will be sent to Hive 2. For this reason, players have typically entered the zone ahead of start time to guarantee a spot at the raid. The raid leaders are not in control of when people decide to start zoning in. We just try to be there in advance to make sure people get on the right teams and so that we ourselves are not locked out of the zone.
In the event that the zone caps ahead of start time, the raid will begin early, as no more players can possibly be added to the raid at this point.
I hope that clarifies the issue. Please let me know if you have any further questions. -

Quote:True story. From what I've read and what some of the other server raid leaders have said, our first raid would probably take 2-3 hours. That is mostly because we haven't raided in a really long time and are probably a little rusty. The time would be cut down drastically as we raid more and more. Getting thru that first raid is gonna be the toughest, because at 3 hours the rewards seems miniscule. If we can get thru the first one, we will be golden on future raiding.
When we first started up community raids again, the first raid took 3 hours, then the next was around 1.5 hours, then they started to run consistently between 30 mins to an hour. So don't get discouraged if your first attempt takes longer than expected. It just takes a few tries to get everyone up to speed on the i9 version of Hamidon.
Once a raid date is set, I'll be more than happy to transfer a toon over to help out.
Best of luck! -

I've been involved in leading community blueside Hami raids on Champion since November 2008, and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
Please feel free to send me a PM, though I'd prefer to answer questions in game if possible, as I will have some questions for you in order to provide you with the most relevant information possible. My global is @Amygdala, and I'm usually online weekdays after 5:30pm EST.
Look forward to hearing from you.
