It'll be a nice day when people regard individuals as just that instead of representatives of some larger group that they may be a part of.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like you have a dream.

Wow, someone earlier said it took them a week to get a rejection letter from Paragon Studios? It took me less than 8 hours.

[/ QUOTE ]

Did they give a reason why you were rejected?

If the gentleman in question is one of the environmental artists then he is either Don Pham or Ryan Roth.

[/ QUOTE ]
He's neither. I asked about him because I thought he was someone else who still works at Cryptic Studios and was told he was "John, one of our environmental artists".

[/ QUOTE ]

Hmmm... there is no longtime employee named 'John,' at least no 'Johns' that came over from Cryptic. There is a John Hegner hired in the first quarter of 2008 who is listed as a World Designer, but, I've seen a pic of John Hegner, and he's not it (the picture is too small to make a positive ID of who is the actual John Hegner in the group shot).

Of course, there are other recently hired folks for whom I have no name and he might be one of them. They've had a job position open for an Environment Artist for a long time, since Aug of 2008 and haven't taken it down yet. It's possible they wanted more than one and only filled one, so, they left the posting up.
5. The banning of any one using words with three double letters in a row. That's the future of CoH.
6. R stands for Radioactive.

Matt has let his alter ego of Positron go to his head and he's put all the programmers in radiation suits to contain their energy.

I'll close with a line I've come to adopt when discussing this subject: Spider-Man don't have no travel suppression!

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny, every time I see a blow land on him he gets knocked into a wall or his webbing is cut and he falls on his butt. Not much traveling happening when one is sitting on one's butt rubbing one's half-dazed head making wry comments on how surprisingly strong/quick one's opponent is. In that regard, Spidey is the posterboy argument *for* travel suppression. It would be hard to think of a worse example for the point you want to make.

Besides, webbing is a slow travel power to begin with, laterally. It seems fast because of all the simultaneous vertical movement, but you don't really travel horizontally very fast, especially if you're not going to take advantage of a full 180 degree arc with each swing. If Spidey wanted to go the length of a city block and managed to web the top of a 20 story building to swing on, I could walk it faster. If anyone's seen a Foucault pendulum, you know that's true.

I'm not even going to say who's dating whom.

AE and TF's

[ QUOTE ]
Heya folks. I've already reported this bug, but figured I'd post it here.

I logged in my WS who I had forgotten was in the middle of an AE arc to join a Posi TF being started by my SG-mates. They were reforming to include me, as they had just started when I decided to join. So they quit and reformed, threw me an invite, and I was able to join successfully (without quitting the arc). Strange thing was when I joined, it showed an active mission: the first mish of the Posi TF, even though we hadn't restarted it.

We started up the TF, and on the way to the first mission, I noticed in the middle of my experience meter rather than the typical "TF" symbol, it was the "AE" symbol. Strange. So I enter the mission... and my client locks up. Fire up task manager, kill it, and restart the game. Once loaded, I discover the game booted me from the TF and back into that AE arc. Team had to quit the Posi and reform to get me back in.

Moral of the story: make sure you quit your AE arcs before anyone tries to invite you to a TF.

[/ QUOTE ]

And I found out that if you do get invited to a team and you have a AE arc up and quit the AE 'TF', then you'll wind up quitting the team, too.

Hey hey hey buddy! Stay on task here! What does that gentleman do?!

[/ QUOTE ]
He's an Environmental Artist, which I believe puts him working with Melissa "War Witch" Bianco.

[/ QUOTE ]

War Witch is more into environmental design than art. She places spawns and writes dialogue. Environmental art creates the 3D world with 3D modeling, meshing, and texturing.

If the gentleman in question is one of the environmental artists then he is either Don Pham or Ryan Roth.

18. Names to the faces in the group Paragon shot.

As many as I could make out. I'd do better if:

1. Some of the faces weren't half obscured.

2. The picture wasn't so low rez and grainy.

3. People who attend meet&greets and cons to see the devs actually took pictures of devs and remembered who it is they took a picture of that's not severely underexposed and is not endless shots of themselves having breakfast or photos from the car on the way to the con.

Castle's missing and I don't think Ron Friedman's in the picture, either.

I'm glad they're taking a new one. Hopefully better posed and higher rez and they warn everyone to 'dress nice ( )'.

LMFAO, oh I did enjoy that No but really... what does he do? Lol

[/ QUOTE ]

I've never seen him before in any of the Cryptic/NorCal/Paragon/HeroCon pics before. If he was in one of those pics, I certainly would have remembered because, after all, he does stand out because he is.... tall.

Just out of curiosity, how many people do you have actually writing the game. I'm currently enrolled at Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in game design and minoring in creative writing. Only a freshman, but I got my eye on you guys...

[/ QUOTE ]

If you mean writing and designing missions and content, then:

Matt Miller (lead design)
Bruce Harlick (writer)
Joe Morrissey (writer, bible keeper)
Melissa Bianco (World Designer, NPC dialogue)
John Hegner (World Designer)

John and Bruce were hired just this past year.
