  1. imo power mastery is by far the best way for an empath to go, thats for PvP tho
  2. what do u mean by "hit or miss"? i have never had a problem with using my kin 1v1

the best union blappers are a problem for me but its usually pretty close where as i think /rad wud be far easier for a blapper to beat, the only AT i have that can usually consistantly beat blasters is my fire/energy tank

with ss brutes and tanks they can hit through LR using rage without a problem
  3. different powers from earth have -DEF, -FLY, -JUMP and -SPEED
  4. not speaking from experience but i would have thought ss brutes and tankers will eat u alive, blappers i wud think wud find it a lot easier to beat /rad than /kin
  5. with 2 good kins it still fills up the screen in large teams

And if so, which AoE cap?

    [/ QUOTE ]

the +dmg caps out far before the AoE cap so u really dont need to worry bout it

Would think Fire/Rad > Fire/Kin 1v1, unless your up against an AT with pets.

while the debuffs wud make it hard for the fire/kin to win against fire/rad there are always builds that will trump others, i would go fire/kin as it dominates so many other builds, fire/kin can bring down RES class scrappers and tanks like they were squishies. A good SR scrapper will defeat me every time but they can't bring down a regen, the point is while fire/rad while probably top fire/kin a fire/kin can top many more builds 1v1 than fire/rad, imo anyway

except the DoT from fire cages and hot feet after fulcrum shift and containment....believe me fire/kin does the most dmg in the game by a long way

I never said it didn't - it's just not the safest way to go about it.

And it also requires you to be in spitting distance of every mob, is almost exclusively DoT, and with a decent endurance drain for the privilege.

    [/ QUOTE ]
True, but if you go /kin, you'll need to be there anyway and will have Transference after 35 (and probably Stamina before then).

    [/ QUOTE ]

pretty much what he said, i no this isnt supposed to be about secondaries bout with /kin the heal is so rapid u can easily look after urself in the middle of a mob, and fulcrum works wonders on fire cages, imps and hot feet

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you're spending all your time spamming Transfusion, that's time you're not spending using RoF>Char, and that's time you're not spending directly damaging things. Those tactics really work best with Fire/Rad, where you can get into melee with relative safety... although you then lack Transference and Fulcrum Shift (but can pick up Consume in the /Fire epic).

This just further illustratess my point, though - Mind gets a solid attack chain from level 6, whereas all the Fire tricks require powers that don't pop up until over halfway through the game (Imps, Transference, Fulcrum Shift). Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Fire (I love my little Fire/Rad to bits ), but Mind allows for just as much offensive play, and it works straight out of the box.

Well, we've had a post about best troller for soloing, then about best troller for teamin... so I guess it's time to see which troller would u like best for PvP, 1 vs 1 intended, or it would depend mainly on the rest of the team powersets.
IMO Illu/Storm. The nice dmg Illu deals, spectral terror, that can keep immob mez resistant ATs, and an active stealth, that allows u to attack while invis.. combined with the debuffs and slow (and detoggles) properties that makes storm shine, are good enough to make it my fav for PvP... (although fire/kins is great too)

    [/ QUOTE ]

depends entirely on whether ur talking 1v1 or teams? if teams it depends entirely on ur team mates builds. fire/kin is very good 1v1 but isnt so good in teams

See you Monday Evening for pentade matchs

  17. back to the original question anyway:

    for dmg i'd have fire/kin
    for control i'd hav earth/rad

    edit: thats PvE of course

Mind deals the most damage, has the most control, and has the most fun power in the game, what else do you need?

    [/ QUOTE ]

ur joking right? fire/kin does far more damage than anything else in the game let alone mind

[/ QUOTE ]See the mind control thread on questions board, cant be bothered to C&P my responses from there

    [/ QUOTE ]

just read them and u reckon hot feet isnt that good? u wanna see me in action with it with containment fire cages gives good doT dmg as well and fire imps can down a boss in seconds especially with fulcrum and SB, fire/kin is far more damagin than anything else hands down imo

ok no secondaries i'd still like to see mind compare to fire cages, hot feet and imps...

    define experts

    [/ QUOTE ]

"a spert under pressure" as my dad used to say .

Actually dont really get it but still... Think "expert" is very subjective but was going on recent performance.

Its a pitty that people do seem to be trying to argue who the "best" pvp SG or teams are, (not aiming this at you).

As far as I see it these matches are all about having fun and learning more about teaming and what you can do. Would be a pitty if it ended up with RL competition.

P.S. Honestly though is there a way to read their posts? My French is very poor .

    [/ QUOTE ]

it is all about fun mate i completely agree i only started speaking cos sum1 said the only pvp group they wud recommend was AoW and dismissed every1 else and specifically "three lions" from the pvp scene all the pvp on mondays is done with great spirits and is always great fun

    [/ QUOTE ]

Errm where did I specifically dismiss you? I think I said until I knew of another group that had regularly beaten them in recent weeks, I would consider AoW the best PvP group and mentioned I had not heard of Three Lions.

That's still the case. Three Lions are not listed in the raid directory as a team interested in PvP, I know of no other VG/SG's from the Union Leaders channel who have heard of them and I've never come across them in PvP. My quote below covers that

    [ QUOTE ]
Like Jumanji, I've also heard very little about the other groups mentioned so until I hear that one of these has been beating AoW in PvP regularly in recent times, they will be regarded as the experts by me

    [/ QUOTE ]

The fact you say there are only three of you goes to confirm it really. How can you consider yourselves the best PvP'ers if you only do a maximum of 3 on 3 battles while AoW can field full raid teams and any size arena or PvP zone team?

When I've come up against AoW in large teams, it has been exactly the teamwork that has won it and organising teams of that size is a damn sight harder than a 3 man team

    [/ QUOTE ]

i was never talking about u valens has said everything that needs to be said about this post apart from when did we ever say we were "the best PvP'ers"? and since when was raiding the only form of pvp?
