Quote:Off topic, but I am using CoT belt currently. It is still missing what makes a Kung Fu sash so unique.Guys that want a sash must be limited to the new CoT belt or upcoming Elemental Order belt.
Not too bad, compared with what we used to have before Freedom.
Brand, I agree those on the kheldians in game are most likely baked in. They are also one of the most requested items of all time. At some point I hope they decide to give in to that request... for all of us. -
I now bang my head on my desk over a point either communicated poorly, or a point missed. Like I said, we all have our hangups.
Besides all of that, I prefer to play male toons, for what ever reason. I dislike this pack because it ignored male and huge models. I also would have liked to have the sash with robes because there is NOT a good Kung Fu sash in the game, but I would have wanted it on the huge and male model also.
Either way, the most I can do is not buy this one, and hope that nothing like this is done again. I really don't even want any all male sets. I would really like a fair and even break down of parts for all models. -
Quote:LIES!!! The Book clearly says that I am from Mars, and my wife is from Venus!*Shrug* In my experience, the guys who actively try to "move into the female mindset" are the ones who do the worst at it. Contrary to popular male belief, women aren't aliens from another planet.
Personally, I don't get the "I'm not one so I can't RP one" mindset. You're not a alien/superhero/elf/whatever, either.
Now seriously, it is what it is. I am not comfortable RPing a female. We each have our own hang ups. -
Quote:I don't make female characters because I just can't get immersion when I play them. As a male, I just can't move myself into the female mindset.
But I don't really see it as the pack neglects a large majority of the player base (and I do think male avatars should get a sash option btw and do wish they had maybe put in the OT to get that one piece ported over with the set) but rather, for those complaining, the pack neglects those who decide to neglect half the options of the character creator. Namely the ability to make female and male characters.
If they had added a sash, that would have been enough for me. How they can continue to neglect a costume item that has been requested since Kheldians were released is so beyond me. Frankly, I think it is stupid.
As for fighting in tights, take a look at the K1, or old UFC matches where guys do fight in tights, or for that mater any High School wrestling match. Think a singlet is not tights? -
Sure why not.
What side do you pick more than others?
A: Hero, I like being the good guy.
What play style do you prefer?
A:Melee, which means scrapper or brute to me.
What power set(s) do you favor?
A: Melee!
What zones do you like the most?
A: Croatoa, First Ward, DA, really any zone that is spooky.
Do you usually play as a male or female (word of hatred) ''toon''?
A: Male.
Views on Role Playing?
A: I am an avid gamer of both LARPs and Table Top games, so I have no issue with RP. However there is something odd about online RP. I think it is that there is no tone of voice, or facial expressions to go on. I think I read that only 10% of communication in a conversation is spoken. That would mean that online RP lacks 80% of the communication total.
I however respect others who do it, and will take part if on a team that is an RP team.

Quote:Brand I agree with an overly large portion of what you post. This is not one of those times we share a stance. Put the shoe on the other foot for a moment. What do you think the reaction would have been if there had been a male/huge only pack? I am pretty sure there would have been a thousand flaming posts screaming for gender equality. They didn't.
They bought all the kids ice cream, and some of the kids said I don't any. You have the option to role a female avatar and use the costume pieces. You choose not to, therefore you didn't want ice cream.
This pack sucks because it neglects a large portion of the player base. Just like the gunslinger pack sucked because it ignored the female player's desire for more gunslingerish clothing. My annoyance springs from the fact that the desire for equality is a lie, because no one seems to care if it is equal towards males. Granted, that may just be my perception of things. -
Quote:This is very well said, and covers how I see it.There's nothing wrong with having a preference for one character gender over another, but there is something wrong with saying you're entitled to getting entire costume set releases for females only because of that preference. I don't say guys should get more costume options just because nearly all my characters are male; I say they should get nearly as many as females.
I'm okay with a slight preference for female options, since they do wear things that men don't and still wear most of the stuff that men do. But I'd say that men should get at least 8 or 9 costume pieces for every 10 women get. Giving women 10 and men nothing is not acceptable. -
I am not happy about this set, and I was very clear about that in the feedback thread. In this instance I am going to vote with my money and not buy it. I was NOT one of the people who wanted gender specific pack. To me, this pack sucks so am not going to buy it.
They say this was planned before the whole gender equality thread. I still think as adults they should have known better. As another person said, you don't buy one kid ice cream and not the other kids. -
Another week of saving points. I guess all the feed back for the CoL set was ignored. It is sad because this is the first time I have felt this way i over 7 years.

Quote:Zone Level Increase: Dark Astoria transforms into a Level 50 Incarnate co-op zone, with missions that can unlock Incarnate abilities for both Heroes and Villains. Dark Astoria is also now accessible from both Peregrine Island and Grandville.Humm, saw no mention of solo/small team Incarnate stuff...? Or am I really going blind now?
Repeatable Missions: Dark Astoria repeatable missions feature rewards befitting an Incarnate, including Incarnate Experience and Thread Components.
Ephram Sha of the Midnight Squad has tasks befitting Incarnate-level Heroes in Dark Astoria. Help him push back the forces of Mot!
The Circle of Thorns has an interest in the dark magics swirling around Dark Astoria. It has sent Maharaj, a powerful Soul Mage, to help Incarnate Villains sow chaos in the ranks of their foes. -
The stalker changes look great, and I am sure they are going to make a lot of people really happy. It looks exciting, however scrappers are still stuck with unreliable and random crits while every other AT has it's inherent revamped.
The rest looks amazing. -

Thanks ZM, just what I needed to ruin so many great childhood memories.

Quote:He means that they need to continue to make unique parts for the male models just as they do for the female models. You can have an item like a coat that is still unique because of the button position, or by changing moderate things.Do you have any examples of something that should be a male-exclusive item?
For the record, I am one of those people who could become very passionate about this issue. -

Quote:The zone revamps really make them a pain in the butt. What is worse though is (iirc) they do not reward the whole team when they are completed, just the mission owner. Now, this may have changed. I have been avoiding them for a while now.Street sweeping missions are so incredibly bad.
And it's not so much that they're easy or hard, as it is that it's incredibly frustrating to talk to someone who says "oh yeah, you'll find the lost in kings row" only to find out that there are very few specific spots in an area on the zone where they show up, and they share spawn locations with other groups so you might fly right by ALL of their spawns and never see one... And ask yourself "WHAT in the WORLD is this guy THINKING? There are no lost here!" -
Quote:This covers my feelings in a much more constructive way than I would have put it.Love the costumes, but I'm disappointed at what looks like a trend: limited unique pieces for male characters, with significant proliferation and unique pieces to female characters. While I can appreciate the precarious situation the costume team is in with the uproar caused by the Gunslinger pack, the problem wasn't that there were unique pieces on both sides but that the themes weren't consistent.
Please, begin to make unique parts for both sexes again under consistent themes. Between this Chinese Dynasty and the Sash/Carnival Costume packs, things are heading down the other extreme with just as passionate resentment building for those of us who value our male characters.
Also I love the Chinese costumes! -
You do, except the t9 repeatable slots. Not so hard for VIPs these days though. You get 1 token a month (unlike the old every 3 months), and 1 for every $15 in points purchased. Which is why so many of us are saying that we are just sitting on tokens.

Quote:The Omega set looks much more like ice than anything in this set, to me any way. All the ice chest and legs have going for them is the spiffy glow effect.Dare I say the one on the right looks more like ice than anything we got in this set...
I am a bit surprised that Claws were left out yet again. But I can see why there are no gund for the set. -
I think the Fire items look great, but the ice is lacking. I was sitting on 6 tokens though, so I bought it any way.
