Quote:"Die For Metal" by Manowar (scary bunch )So i walked outside into the street
From a hall i heard thunder and screams
I walked inside so i could hear
and the guy beside me gave me a beer
He had his fist up in the air
and called me brother said my friends
are over there
She's totally committed
To major independence
But she's a lady through and through
She gives them quite a battle
All that they can handle
She'll bruise some
She'll hurt some too
... would go well with "/powexec_name Walk". -
We have kind of a funny situation here in Quebec (I don't know if it's the same in the rest of Canada): there was this chain of electronic/appliances stores called "FutureShop", which got bought by BestBuy a few years ago...
... but they decided to keep all the stores under the "FutureShop" name open, even when they started to open brand-new Best Buy stores. Even funnier, they would still open new FutureShop stores from time to time (I don't know if they still do).
So, in some malls (ex. Centre Laval, in Laval near Montreal), you can have 1 FutureShop and 1 Best Buy a few hundred feet from each others'.
From the few visits I've made to Best Buy stores, they have more or less the same inventory, but their prices are usually a few bucks higher that FutureShop. -
Add Kreetch as well - last badge needed for Task Force Commander.

Quote:That would be... "Miss Take", by Horrorpops ?So there it lies, the whole mistake.
It eats away on us, it feeds on my mistakes.
Your satisfied smile, tells me it's not all right.
Like a father you watch me confess to all my lies.
Now bear with me, this is my 2nd (and last) "nautical disaster" song in this game...
A captain name of Phillips
Seekin' shelter from the storm
Turned us south of Bête Grise Bay
By way of Keweenaw Point
But the wind was blowing at such a rate
We ended up driftin' north
A wave broke over a knife of rock
Six Fathom Shoal
Mackenzie she was cut in half
The stern she rammed the bow
The men were caught in metal jaws
Flames burned out of hell
Stern kept runnin' all her lights ablaze
Not one man would be found
Captain's last transmission read
32 men down
32 men down
(too easy, too easy, I know...) -
Quote:Why, mon, 'tis Bob Marley's "Redemption Song" !Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery,
none but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy
'cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets
while we stand aside and look?
Some say it's just a part of it,
we've got to fulfill the book.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
of the big lake they call "Gitche Gumee."
"Superior," they said, "never gives up her dead
when the gales of November come early!" -
Could we get a list of those who signed up so far ? I'm pretty sure I did, but I would not want to miss this because of a GoogleDoc error...

Quote:"Going Through The Motions" by Sarah Michelle Gellar and cast, from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode "Once More with Feeling".I've been making shows of trading blows just hoping no one knows
That I've been going through the motions, walking through the part
Nothing seems to penetrate my heart.
My turn (and this is NOT a french song...):
J'ai changé cent fois de nom,
j'ai perdu femme et enfants
mais j'ai tant d'amis;
j'ai la France entière.
Un vieil homme dans un grenier
pour la nuit nous a cachés,
les Allemands l'ont pris;
Il est mort sans surprise.
Oh, the wind, the wind is blowing,
through the graves the wind is blowing,
freedom soon will come;
then we'll come from the shadows. -
Sorry, came back from Vermont with a bad cold, I'm going to have to take a rain check on today's TF

Quote:Whut ?!? I won ?!??Alright... since the Zombie Apocalypse has started, and I'm safe in my secure location and broadcasting, its time to announce our winners.
The grand prize winner, who wins their choice of 10mil Influence or Infamy is:
Archiviste!
I mean... YAY! I WON!...
I would definitively be Infamy, my Villains need love as well...
I'll get in touch with you, Del. -
Quote:Why not simply "New Players Welcoming Committee" ?
To reflect this renewed direction, the New Player Welcoming Night will have to change it's name to something more fitting. No longer will this be an occasional one night stand kind of deal, but a more involved mentoring program.
Quote:Note: The currently used NPWN global channel will be discarded also, as I remove everyone from it progressively. Protector Vigilance will be used instead if ever there is need for that type of communication. Teamspeak server access will remain available for volunteers.
Seriously; I know Protector Vigilance is your baby, but like I've noticed during our last PERC event, a non-dedicated global channel means that messages get lost in the "noise" sometimes. For some events, broadcasting on Vigil (or even JS, I'm not discriminating...) might be a good idea. For some other events, where communication between participants is a MUST, a dedicated channel is needed. Said channel can be created ad-hoc and discarded afterwards, of course... -
I got next week off, so I can play till dawn this time...

To all those of you attending Hero-Con:
Have a safe trip there and back, and have a wonderful time in sunny San Jose !
Don't worry, the server and global channels will still be there when you come back...
I'm pretty sure they will...
normally they should...
if all goes well...
I hope...

I'll stop by with good ol' Kreetch, but won't be able to stay more than 1 hour - got a meeting at the office bright and early tomorrow morning (I normally work from home).
