Shoot, I would buy it. No need to make it free, I will pay for a male/huge version of the sash.

Quote:For me at this point it is just about stuff. I want some of the same cool stuff the female models are getting, just as the female models wanted some of the cool male stuff. I really want a sash in a bad way, and I would have loved to have a belt with a clock on it.I disagree with several of the details, but I do think that regarding particular posters (I wouldn't count you as one of them) the post itself hits the mark.
I do think that there should be a sash for male and huge characters. But when you have guys coming into these threads complaining about numerical equality and ignoring situational equality (as in, do male and female characters both get similarly useful pieces or do the males get the useful/badass pieces and females get the sexy pieces), that the definition of equality is pretty self-serving.
The way I see it, is things can still be evened up in their current plan of a little more for the female model. The smart thing to do is to not make much requested items (like the sash) gender exclusive. It is also not such a good idea (as we have now seen) to release a single gender costume pack.
At best I hope the devs saw the reaction to the carnie pack, and don't plan to repeat that mistake.
This week has held a lot of reflection for me. CoX was a part of that reflection, because it is really my only outlet these days. See, I may not play female toons, but I do like to see the female model in the sexy items. I am a straight male, so I feel that is pretty natural. I however respect that not all females want to dress that way, and do not begrudge their desire for more gender neutral items.
What I would like is for those who do play female models to also respect the desires of those who only play male toons. There are items we would love to have, things that I see no need to list all over again. I think it is awesome that Dink took personal time to fix some of the glaring issues with female costumes. I hope her or Jay can find the time to do the same for the male models.
Sell it if you have to justify it. I would have bought the WHOLE carnie pack just for a male version of the sash. I (and many others have said the same) have no issue paying for the extras that I want. -
I really hope that they see this keeps coming up, and take the time to actually address it.

Magic Pack
Females: Why does our outfit make us look like a ****?
Males: Don't worry about it.
Gunslinger Pack
Females: Why does our outfit make us look like a ****?
Males: Don't worry about it.
Carnie Pack
Males: NO WE DON'T GET THE BELT, SEXISM SEXISM UNFAIR!
Devs: Here are some not-**** outfits from the packs you bought.
Forumbase: OMG SEXISM SEXISM UNFAIR
Seriously. Are you seriously equating "lack of one belt" with the outfits females have been stuck with since the inception of the packs? Freakin' tired of it.
And this post is better than any of the others how? -

Quote:I did send Zwill a PM.Unfortunately, we're not allowed to talk about that here on the boards. If you're concerned, contact a community rep about it. Not the mods, though, since I'm not convinced they actually have souls.

Since the devs felt the need to close the thread just as the sash was being reasonably discussed, I am starting a new one.
I want the item for my martial arts characters. I want it bad. I don't want it swept under the rug that it has been a much requested costume item for YEARS and yet it was only given to one of the three player models.
In a word.. it sucks. So, I would like to discuss why others want this item, just as we were about to do when the devs decided close the other thread.
On a personal level, I found out last week that I have cancer, this week I found out that to remove it I would lose my vocal cords. So I am more likely to be passionate about certain issues this week. I would REALLY like to know why the other thread was closed with out even a note from the mods. -
It was pretty crappy that they didn't take the time to port just the sash (A MUCH requested item) over to the male models. Really I think just doing that would have kept me out of these discussions, maybe many others. Hey if they would just let us know that giving males a sash is on the schedule, I may would back off. But BP has everyone in such fear of their lives we can't even get an answer on that.
There were items in that carnie pack that could have been shared, they chose not to. I have no real issue with what is being shared from male to female, I just think it is bs that it is not going to other way also. -

This. I have posted as much several times in other threads. All that really needs to be done is add some sticks to the DB set.

Quote:I love this post, thank you!People like you are why men are given negative stereotypes. "Men don't care about the way they look". This is absolute crap.
I like cheesecake too. But unlike you, I am a man that actually cares about how he looks. I go to the gym, I do cardio and lift weights. I go shopping and I enjoy it. I like nice dress shirts, as well as creative graphic tees, designer jeans, a variety of shoes, different coats and suits and accessories. My closet ranges from from sharp and dressy to casually stylish. Because I want to look good.
I am a V.I.P. subscriber too. This does not make me special, nor you. The majority of players here have at least one V.I.P. account. Some friends of mine have two. And as a subscriber, I also pay for the costume options being made. As do all the other V.I.P.'s here. We all have opinions, and I am proud to say mine happen to differ from yours.
This is understandable. What else gets old though, females now getting EVERYTHING that males get AND MORE!
I fully support as many possible costume options for BOTH genders. As well as a Huge Female body type. What I am really getting sick of, is the female costumes getting special treatment. I want more male equivalent costume parts. Give us a long jacket that has the detail and customization of the bolero, with a jacket tail that actually moves. Like that "old and busted" trench coat but with "new hotness" detail and customization. This fallacy that women have more fashion needs is just as insulting to me, as the overly sexy and skimpy outfits are to you. -
Welcome. I really hope you are a gamer as we have certain personality quirks that do not exist in the rest of the world.
I really hope you last longer. I am not sure I would ever leave a job at paragon studios, but I also doubt they would want a soon to be professional counselor on staff.
Good luck, and welcome to the community. You will soon see that there are some things that we can be very passionate about. Also understand that many of us have "known" each other for over 7 years. -
Quote:Meh, don't let em get to you. It is not a feature I would purchase, and it is not one I would want to trade my transfer token for.I guess it wasn't enough to just give away the Going Rogue Expansion features away as a benefit for VIP subscription and allow just any subscriber to change their alignment for free.
I guess we're also morally bankrupt to give away free server transfers a month for free to VIP subscribers, too.
And for anyone that never purchased the Going Rogue expansion or let their subscription lapse, we're apparently lower than dirt to charge a $10 "service" fee to change a character's alignment that a non-paying customer spent time on....
C'mon folks. *This is not profiteering on the backs of VIPs.
ALL VIP subscribers and any customer that purchased the Going Rogue expansion have a FREE option to EASILY and FREELY change their character's alignment.
Come at me with the pitchforks, but really? *Are you not seeing the reasons for introducing this service?
Non VIP customers can now change their character's alignment to try the content on the other side without deleting thir character and grinding up to a power level where they were before (if they got up to level 20). * VIP customers get 400 points every month that they can apply to this 800 point service...., or as I pointed out earlier, VIP customers can change their alignment for FREE using the in-game system.
If you want to provide more constructive feedback like "this is a great feature that i would rather get free per month as part of my VIP membership than server transfers or 400 points per month" then we're all ears. -

Quote:NCsoft does not currently stock in our inventory nor currently distribute the CoH or CoV Collector's edition boxes..., but some can still be found online. (17 COV : CE in stock and 1 CoH: CE in stock on Amazon.com at the time of this post.) [Please note that I do not know if that is a typo or error by Amazon. I just used Google. <--I'm seriously not trying to be snarky, just helpful.]
[edit: I just realized that I got baited into a response. sigh. I promise that I will not respond further to this thread and will monitor feedback.]
I read some of the reviews for those links, it was like doing an Oro mission.
I have the CoV and the CoX CE. I could care less if the items were sold in the store. -
There was a lot of stuff in the CoT set we didn't get.
Also, I see the point about scabbards. His reason for those not being done is really good. However, quivers is a different story. All they need to show are shafts, and fletching. It can be static, because arrows are not really that customizable on the back end. -
Quote:Already you are answering more questions that anyone except David (when it comes to costumes), and you offer more technical answers than he. I would like to say I think your communications with the community are awesome, and I want to thank you for them. You are quickly finding your way into our hearts. That is a comepletely different area. We would have to add a new category in the Monstrous legs section and since the Geo is different on the Monstrous legs every skirt would have to be duped and re-built to fit to that Geo.
Edit: Thanks for the answer about the bow and shield, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't somehow missed them. -
Did we get that bow and shield and I just missed it?

At this point I would be happy just to get a real sash for my Huge and Male toons.

See! We do all love one another!
I think i may have put one person on ignore in the last 7 years. They are no longer around, but I still am. -
Quote:This to me is a perfect review of the whole thing, and really sums up how I feel also.If the SSAs were a book, this would have been the chapter where I threw it across the room and went to Amazon to write a one-star review. As I was playing it, particularly the last mission, I kept thinking, "There's no way anyone could be dumb enough to do this." But I had no choice. If I wanted to get to the end of the story, I had to be dumb. So I bounced around that ritual room, looking for any other option, anything that could give me a clue about what I needed to do. There's an assassin? Let them come. I was sent in here to escort and protect an important hero. An assassin who sits around and does nothing isn't a very good assassin, after all.
But my hero, my so-called "protagonist" that Darrin Wade is supposedly afraid of, left his post and wandered back through a freaking Oranbega map to fight an assassin who's apparently as flummoxed by Oranbega portals as my dog is by glass doors.
Penny didn't even come with. She hung around by the ritual altar, making me think, "Okay, maybe that's the safeguard." Turns out, not so much, and she may have even been glitched for me. Whatever.
The problem is, my "hero" left his charge and went off to do something that wasn't needed, and as a result wasn't present to help actually do something about the real threat.
That's not just dumb. That's unforgiveably dumb. Based on what I'm seeing in this arc, I'm not a threat to Wade. I'm somebody who, when the final battle comes, Wade will distract with Youtube videos of kittens, then feed a poisoned cupcake to. I have, to this point, done basically everything he wanted me to do, when he wanted me to do it.
I leveled this character from 1-50 in the Rogue Isles, then spent several years thereafter still running around the Isles waiting for a chance to be redeemed. After finally making the transition to Paragon City and "hero" status as soon as it was possible to do so, I feel pretty strongly that in this arc I have done more to advance the cause of villainy than I did the entire time the character was under Recluse's thumb.
I was able to forgive a lot of the storytelling conceits in the earlier portions of the arc. The entire last mission, though, was ridiculous and insulting. And I don't think it would have taken a lot to salvage it, is the sad thing. What's needed is an intelligent motivation to do what was done. So, for example:
Rather than having to escort Psyche through not one but TWO entire Oranbega maps, you learn that she's tried to go it alone, for fear of what the ritual might do to everyone around her, and that she's currently lost inside Oranbega. You (and Penny, sure) have to go in and find her, fight off some sort of impressive NPC and its minions, and help her the last little way to the ritual chamber. Once you're there, another attack on her enters the caverns, and you can't stay with her because if the attackers make their way into the ritual chamber, everything could be compromised. As much as you hate to do so, and knowing that it's risky, you go back to hold the line, leaving Penny and some number of other guardians you called in to help behind. I mean, the entire FP got to Synapse's aid in 60 seconds at the end of the first villain SSA, so it can't be THAT hard.
Or something to that effect. There are WAYS it could have worked, or at least, worked better.
It's possible that we'll get some dialogue in SSA7 to the effect of, "We're sorry we had to deceive you, [charactername], but we suspected what Wade was up to and had to have me shooting Shalice appear to be the only option, and you're just too competent in general for that to happen if you're around." I kinda doubt it, though, and being made to look dumb by Manti isn't markedly better than being made to look dumb by Wade. At least there, though, it's not me being a puppet of the villain.
I don't agree with the writing philosophy that says, "If you wow them in the third act, all is forgiven." Because sometimes, the things that come before the third act are bad enough that the reader/viewer isn't there to be wowed. I'll stick around and play the finale for the reward, but psychologically and emotionally, I've checked out. Which, to me, is a shame.
I hate writing this kind of review. But the more I've reflected on the hero arc, the angrier I've gotten at just how dumb my incarnate-level character has to be, for it to work. If I'm doing the right thing, and bad things happen that I couldn't foresee, okay. But given that Wade's monologue in the last episode had to do with Psyche being next, why in the world would I not see this coming?
