So, a "9pm at the Clocktower" thread in the Union Villains forum for updates/recaps/information?
Hmm... well, I've nothing against the idea. I'll probably end up posting my recaps there anyway since I won't be able to resist... -

[/ QUOTE ]
As far as I can see, you haven't done anything wrong so my answer is, as you say: /ignore.
And, indeed, I'd be tempted to petition them for harassment.
With regards to maturity, I've found that age and maturity frequently have very little correlation. I wouldn't worry about it and I look forward to seeing Lep at CT again. -
[ QUOTE ]
two people didn't even hear me speaking since i talk fine out of CT they just either searched and saw my name or saw me flying past...
[/ QUOTE ]
Two people took your name and/or costume as an insult to Ireland and/or the Irish? Well, that really is ridiculous.
It's one thing to take exception to a portrayal that one may feel stereotypical and a mockery of the Irish (not something I think you either do or intend, btw) but feeling insulted by such an innocent name and costume is a bit much.
I can imagine it must be quite upsetting, Stalingrad and, for what it's worth, I haven't seen you do or say anything to cause offence during the unfortunately brief time I RPed with Leprechaun.
I hope we'll see the mischievous little fellow at the Clocktower again, Stalingrad. -
Re Munitions Mastery: I'd get both Cryo Freeze Ray and Body Armour (in that order, personally). Body Armour's resistance is about 12.5% fully slotted, iirc which is more than RPD from invul (I think). Sleep grenade ain't all that great, IMO - but I am a fire blaster so that may colour my opinion slightly... ).
Re Somke Grenade: Hmm... Using my freespec, I dropped this power - I had used it in the past but, sadly, never found it to be of great utility for my build. I'm sure it could come in handy but I just haven't found it to be terribly useful. *shrugs* -
Retcon is the shortened form of the fancy phrase "Retroactive Continuity" where the creator/owner of a character/universe changes personalities and/or history partially or completely. DC's Crisis on Infinite Earths is a very good example of an active retcon.
I'm afraid it's up to you, Stalingrad. Personally, I'd feel it a shame if you abandoned the character completely - a subtle retcon/alteration could do wonders - but it's your choice.

i want to move there second i get the money...
[/ QUOTE ]
The more the merrier, I say - we can always use more RPers here!
But be warned: tis a pleasant place but it's getting mighty expensive... -
Unfortunately, Stalingrad, this is a very tricky issue.
If people feel insulted, then, regardless of your intent, you may need to rethink your position. Could you, perhaps, alter the character somewhat to avoid causing discomfort or insult to others? I recall a leprechaun at GG a few times (not sure who played him, though) and he didn't rely quite so heavily on maintaining the accent, if that helps.
As I said, it's a tricky issue and I'm sorry to hear that your receiving complaints. I hope you can resolve it without having to give up on the character completely. -

Speaking of which, we gotta have a combined night with crowds from both locations at Pocket D.
[/ QUOTE ]
As in a GG/CT meet up in Pocket D?
Hmm... don't think Ana'd show up for that - not her scene in the slightest. Though I'd love to see Torgo meet RC... -
As stated by Max, I'd definitely squeeze Fire Breath in there somewhere...
Hmm... Maybe drop Auto Turret (having tried it, I'm not a fan) and move all the powers after stamina down one, so to speak. That's off the top of my head, to be honest, may not work terribly well in practice.
And definitely keep cloaking device. Great for planting a time bomb in the middle of a mob group (not Nem, though... *shudder* ), then laying a caltrops/trip mine trap to catch the survivors who chase you, fire breathing them as the get stuck on the caltrops....
Ah... toasty -
Last night was entertaining. We could well be the worst bunch of villains going given our performance but it was fun.
I'm with Lotus - Wax is well worth waiting for!
Look forward to seeing her again whenever you can make it, Stasis_.
Not sure how I'm fixed for Wednesday but, if I can be there, I shall. -
Sorry to see you go, ShadowGhost. -
Well, I'm afraid tonight is out for me but I'll be back on Wednesday.

Right, it was quite a busy evening, got plenty of people now I think who'll be regulars there.
So now the time has been moved to 9PM.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep. Started out very slow and quiet but a load of people turned up then and RC got to have the OOC limelight for a while!
Interesting night. 9pm, you say? Hmm... Gonna be tricky with GG... but, given last night's turnout, it should keep ticking over.
Things are looking good, RC! -
I arrived a bit late last night and, despite it being a quiet night, Tress had a great conversation with Iceflame. Learned some interesting things about him...
RC, give it a chance - it's still early days. You guys chose a good location so, fingers crossed it'll get more attendees soon. -

Leprechaun's accent was superb though.
[/ QUOTE ]
QFT. Thoroughly enjoyed deciphering that. Nice job.
A quiet night but Tress was, once again, highly amused by the Clocktower attendees and surprised to learn of the cooked food available.
Enjoyed Torgo, RC. Shame there's no hunchback slider in character creation. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm there most evenings and - as Ana Firebrand, at least - make an effort to say hello to anyone I see.
[/ QUOTE ]
Edited to add emphasis.
Plus, once I get home, I'll dig out the logs cause I'm 70% sure Ana's talked to Molok before but I shall find out for certain - and edit this post rather than completely hijacking this thread...
And, if I'm wrong (30% chance and all ), I'll hunt him down and shake his hand.
Edit: Well, turns out I was wrong. Exchanged tells briefly but it doesn't look like Ana ever got a chance to say hello. Prepare to be hunted! -
First of all, welcome!
I'm pretty new to RP myself - start back in March by turning up to GG through curiosity and being dragged over to the statue by RC. *shakes fist melodramatically*
As for the RP Guide RC links to, the unfortunate thing is that such a guide - or any guide of that nature, really - is going to be controversial. There will be things in it that some or even many would disagree with as it represents one way of roleplaying, not -the- way to roleplay, if you follow me. Best not to do so in the long run, IMO.
As for intimidation, I can most certainly empathise. I was nearly sweating each of the first nights I came along and was truly scared of messing up. But... I kept coming back and, as you do so, it gets a little easier. That said, of course, I'm still intimidated by the long-term GGers.
Regardless, I would recommend you come along to either the GG meet or the newly started Mercy Island Clocktower meet in CoV (10pm-ish). I'm there most evenings and - as Ana Firebrand, at least - make an effort to say hello to anyone I see.
And don't forget: there's no such thing a silly question if you don't know the answer so fire a tell to me if there's anything you want to ask.
Again, welcome and have fun! -
Having a very solid SS/Fire myself, I'm curious as to your /fire's build and what level you're at.
I've found fire to be very good.
A decent, quick recharging heal that doesn't rely on acc like DA's one.
A nice damage aura that works wonders with fury but needs some careful slotting - though other sets have this too.
Good resistance against everything but psi - I'd still recommended picking up tough though.
A handy end recovery power and a further damage buff to add on top of your primary one and fury.
Thoroughly recommend it though it does need tough - as mentioned - and more or less forces you into SJ as a travel power to pick up acrobatics.
That said, I've heard good things about both DA and Inv. Up to you. -
Aye. Should be there for a little while at least but how will GG cope without its resident Stoic Soviet Super Soldier?
Or should that be Soviet Super Stoic Soldier... or maybe... no, I'll stop. -
Enjoyed tonight immensely.
Tormentress turned up and spent a while leaning against the wall watching the others. She was joined by her friend Echo Hammer and the two chatted about schemes and... other things...
They were joined by Half N Half whom Tormentress... tormented... mercilessly.
Good fun.
Took a couple of screenshots late in the proceedings (late for me, at least):
Aerial shot of some of the attendees
More up-close and personal
I'd post some logs but they'd take up a load of space, anyone wants them, PM me and I'll be happy to oblige. -
Screenshots look good.
I'm hoping to turn up for the next one - what time? 10pm still?
Edit: Due to RC's stealth posting... -
Place looks good, RC. Nice find to all who searched!
Only thing is timing: will it be, as others have wondered, a 9pm thing or something else? Sadly, there seems to be potential, at least, for conflict with GG. Now, that's not to say it's a bad thing - competition is always healthy and the more RP the better! - but it would be a shame to see either venue suffer because of t'other...
No idea how to resolve that, I'm afraid, but we could see how it goes, I guess.
Once again, nice idea and a great find to all! -
Pushing the rotting wooden of the cave open, the pale man paused and allowed the women who were accompanying him to pass by. Expressionless, he watched them make their way outside and pick their footing on the rocks. Satisfied, he followed them and bade his goodbyes to both rising noisily into the air.
He detested the ludicrous contraption that allowed him to do that. It was heavy, bulky and loud. None of which was conducive to constructive thought. Regardless, thoughts came unbidden
Rebecca? Did you get them? What kept you, dammit?!
Rebecca pushed through the lab door, scowling at Thomas. She moved over to one of the more empty lab tables and set down the case. I have them. It would have been easier if you hadnt neglected to mention that Silmans assistant was still in the building, she retorted icily, looking around the room, Well have to work quickly.
Thomas ignored her and reached greedily for the case. His hands trembled slightly as he released the catches and tried to open the lid. Frowning, he looked at his colleague who was wearing a small smile. Pushing him aside, she stood before the case and, with Thomas peering over her shoulder, released the catches in a subtly different way. The lid opened easily.
Well now. I believe we are far closer than I would have thought possible. Rebecca reached into the case as Thomas moved off to prepare
The pale man blinked and shook his head almost imperceptibly. Frowning he looked down at the buildings below him reflecting on this new memory. Yet another piece of the puzzle that was the events that had led him to this place and time.
Descending, he landed lightly on a rooftop, batting its decrepit inhabitants off with ease. Standing motionless, he looked out over the city. It would be best to continue what he had started here. His lips curved briefly as he contemplated his actions thus far. It would take time, but his path was clearly marked now and those he had chosen as allies would serve him well. Idly, he wondered what had been in the case but came to the conclusion that speculation was futile, he would remember in time.
Two Arachnos soldiers came on to the roof where he stood and stopped dead. The pale man turned to face them. His lips curved again, a lethal motion, involuntary and dangerous... -

You want the guidelines? You can't handle the guidelines! Son, we live in a world of imagination. And that imagination has to be guarded by men with puns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Zodian? We have greater derangements than you can possibly fathom. You weep for reality and you curse the fablers. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know: that reality's destruction, while tragic, provides fun. And our existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, provides fun. You don't want guidelines. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want us using that imagination. You need us using that imagination. We use words like character, plot, dialogue... we use these words as the backbone of a life spent imagining things! You use 'em as punchlines. We have neither the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to a man who logs in and plays under the blanket of the very fiction we provide, then questions the manner in which we provide it! We'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, we suggest you pick up a character and start a plot!

Fantastic!
Leif_Roar, I'm going out to buy a hat to tip it at you.
*tries to squeeze it all into sig box* It won't fit!

Oh, and as for guidelines: remember that In Character Actions have In Character Consequences and have fun! -
I'd agree with both Idris and Cynic: get consume (3 rech, 2 acc and an endmod if you have a slot spare) and slot your attacks with endred.
Personally, my lvl 34 SS/FA has, at most, one dmg enhancement in her attacks with 2 acc and 2 endred and some rech. I find it works a treat combined with the occasional consume to top up your end bar during a lengthy fight.
For consume, however, I'd try to catch around 3 mobs when activating it and 2 at the very least. Only worth it in desperation in there's just one mob.
Anyway, that's my 2 inf.
