It's really simple:
Powercreep for a Faction which is behind another faction by-design would be a GOOD Thing.
Powercreep for the first Faction when it totally dominates the second already, is a BAD THING.
And it doesn't take a microscope to see which of those is going on here...

If a buncha Hero-Only gamers are just flat-out Horrible players (and a lot of them ARE), then using global Datamining to drive these decisions makes even less sense than blindly throwing darts at a corkboard! -

DualBlades for Stalkers had 2 or 3 redname's 'attentions' in Beta.
I'm not saying this IS pointless, I'm just pointing out that any Time-Frame for fixes, puts those fixes so far into the Future as to be Chronologically Pointless.

...unless it's a SuperArachnoid (atleast 50% Toxic damage /w BIG hits) paired with another boss that Buffs that SuperArachnioid in a defeat-all mission in the "water room". Oh, and the other Boss haz Bull_Shyft so he'll just phase @ will if U try to kil him 1st. I got that ruuvvry mission rast night and went through atleast 3 uses of Liquefy. LIQUEFY, a power I only have down to a 180 sec RCH. What a rediculously drawn out fight, only b/c there's NO WAY to reliably get Toxic Resistance either. It might as well have been an AV fight at that point ....Oh, did I mention it was TIMED TOO and failing it would totally suck b/c it wuz part of Efficiency Expert?

...And also b/c alt-tabbing out to C.o.data is a real PitA for a game that uses as many resources as this one, and I already play it in windowed mode! I'm thinking it's the other way around when I look at some of these sets being ported... See, there's a REASON that everyone just PL's their Psy-Blast Defenders...Heavy Psi Resist Mobs that dominate entire level ranges: levels 3-20: Vahzilok -- levels 20-29: BanishedPantheon ...levels 25-35: tons of Council arcs with Robots. Levels 41+: Almost half of all Praetorian mobs. ...None of this crap is a problem for Villains. ...but for Blasters, it's like shoving a square peg in a round hole just to mess with PvP. Meanwhile on Villains, NRG damage is much more commonly resisted in the PvE game and what blast set did they give us more of? ...yeah, Electric = NRG.
Let's face it... PvP changes haven't been a featured addition since Bases and IOP were Announced. The only way this situation is ever going to get fixed is by making it center stage gain. ...hearing more of the honesty we heard last night. More dialog between the Devs and the players who are interested in PvP... casual PvP'ers as well. Waiting and waiting and waiting is not improving this situation when some the biggest and most loudly-announced features this week hurt PvP more than they helps it and bring no real benefits to PvE either. It lacks professionalism and I know this studio can do better (even if its marketing Dept seems like a lost cause) -

Only a small percentage of players actually come to the boards and post. The "whining" pvp'ers here who may scream doom and cry foul are not necessarily wholly representative of the pvp community in game. No more than the pve players who do the same thing.
There are plenty of players (like me) who engage in pvp casually. Should people be flipping out before anything's been tested? Of course not. Attacking the developers is never acceptable. Accusing them of hating villains or pvp'ers or stalkers is silly. But expressing legitimate concern over how these power ports will affect one area of the game isn't "whining."

As much as I might PvP, I still spend nearly all of my time in PvE, and my comments would be no less valid solely on either basis. If I see the Devs making poor decisions that mirror in exact detail other decisions they've made in the past, I'm going to point it out. Adding more sets in itself isn't the problem here, it's the haphazard way they're going about doing it and then defaulting to the "wait till Beta Testing" excuse. After this point here, it's already too late. -

Stalkers (well... Cloaking device replaced with Practiced Brawler for obvious reasons)
Just trust me on this one... I've spent well over 200 hours PvP'ing on a Traps Corruptor and it's basically just a really weak "Devices stalker" with 1 really powerful PbAoE based effect that might as well be an assassin's strike once it takes effect... -

You guys are looking like a bunch of Amateurs right now. There were plenty of other Sets way ahead on everyone's wishlists (both PVE and PvP communities) that could have been 'ported' instead that would have made more sense while also involving less Tweaking and bug-fixing.
There's been so many controversial Changes by this team over the years that I fully supported despite so much of the whining from FotM'ers and PL'ers on these boards... The G.D.N, E.D., Controller/Pet nerfs, even "Inventions"(loot). I supported all of those things b/c I knew ahead of time they would make this game more diverse and add more "character" to the metagame.
But this "Brainstorm" being announced today is just plain unprofessional in the choices that were made. -

As I stated in an earlier thread, we are still weeks out from closed beta and more weeks out from open beta and then launch. So, expect to get something on a weekly basis from now till then. If we just dumped it all out now, well we'd be sitting around going "that's nice, but when can I play it?" So, thanks for your patience and understanding that it won't all come at once.

Well, it's disappointing b/c it doesn't actually tell us anything new about the CoV content that's always been in shorter supply to blueside. Just giving us one more "proliferation" tidbit would have been real news. Or how bout some more vague clues about a VEAT? A 'tidbit' about a zone that most ppl avoid now and only spans 5-10 levels on only one faction was hardly anything to get our hopes up about. (no offense to Warwitch, she rocks). It's just too limited in scope to be real news.

Actually if I had to guess the "exploitable" nature Castle is talking about is the fact that these buffs are apparently team oriented. An unkillable team buff would be pretty powerful, obviously too powerful as far as the Devs are concerned. It'd almost be like a Vet based variant of a zero END cost Leadership pool power.
Once again balance is key.
My bet is if they made these pets unkillable they'd make the buffs NON-team oriented at the very least.

Lookin at the numbers so far, 5 of these things stacked together wouldn't even measure up to the Protection/REC that 1 layer of Rad-Infect & Accel-Metab provides. For soloers (especially Melees), they won't even be Worth summoning. The most "Use" anyone will get out of these weak buggers is for putting their floaty E-Dilz on display in Atlas Park.
In real PvE (and PvP especially)...these things are ANYTHING but a "combat pet".
And "organized Teams" would get BETTER bonuses by just taking Manuevers+CJ. -

Just a Hypothetical here...just to be Mentally-Noted, not necessarily Responded to... but Can NcSoft itself through you it's Spokesman, ensure that this won't simply become a closed 'Technical' Issue as soon as this "compramise" patch inevitably goes Live just like the previous one did? We know you value feedback b/c it's your Job to, but the guy who really has to give a few inches here is Positron b/c at the heart of this is the REWARD. If this issue gets closed after this, then ALL the IO rewards are set to suffer for it in the future and the market becomes and even worse "CessPool" of price gouging, Flipping-PvP, and disparity.
As for the TF Missions... I don't think anyone expects a complete Overhaul. Cutting the actual Size of most of the 'in-between' maps in HALF would be a huge improvement though, especially all these dull BORING defeat-alls that look exactly like every other map in the game. If they're too short after that then make every named boss at the end of it an EB or even a Pair of EB's to spice it up. Either way you slice it, a LOT of these TF's just have boring [censored] Laboratories, Caves, and Warehouses that are simply too Large for a casual team and often have them spending 30-60 minutes per map clearing. Get the Worldbuilders to just Cut out whole sections of all the boring Maps until they take 15-20 mins tops. -

Hell... 3 of the 4 guys I do it with can solo 8-man spawns @ level 20. I can solo 4-man spawns.

Castle, BaB, and LH are very consistent about addressing issues that are actually their Departments.
...Reward changes however and Quality Assurance... I think we all know who's department that is, and that he won't discuss the big issues with us b/c we all con "Grey 2 him"
