A level 27 MM i met ingame has asked me to post here for him to get him a spot on the team. So i am, his name is premius

Ok, firstly i've never tried to write in this context before, so i've cheated a little and am basing the characters off my own toons AT's and names. Secondly it's only part 1, its short and I didn't spend long editing it, so your'll probably notice mistakes.

Some feedback would be nice, but im not going to dwell on it if noone posts. Although if you'd like me to continue the story let me know either here or in a PM.
P.S. Sorry about the unimaginitive title.


Introduction: Everything has a start.

The room was dank. Filthy wallpaper and paint had slowly begun to blister and fall away from the walls. The stench of fungus and decay filled his nostrils but it didn’t distract or deter him.

Flipping to the middle of a large book he stood frowning at the page. After a few moments he closed his eyes and started muttering, the longer this went on the louder his voice rose, cutting through the damp atmosphere, as he tilted his head back. He could feel an energy building inside him, outside his skin pricked at him as goose bumps crawled over his skin. He forced his eyes tighter shut as the room, unbeknown to him, began to fill with a thin grey mist. Lazily it played around him and the dirty room, dancing in swirls before it reached the ceiling and went rolling across it.


“This is the place” Tyroque said confidently grasping the door handle. “We all know the plan?” He glanced over his shoulder to the two men who followed up the steps behind him. They nodded in acknowledgement. “Don’t forget, if he has completed the ritual he may be much stronger than before” He opened the door and stepped over the threshold.

The smell stole his breath, his eyes watered as he fought back the urge to cough. A solid hand landed on his shoulder and pushed him onward. “Thanks” He whispered to Torrad as he blinked the last few tears from his eyes and cleared his vision. The walls of the corridor were stained with grime, a foul dark green and black, insects of all kinds scuttled around the crevices. He felt sick.

Deep in the bowls of this abandoned apartment building a rumbling echoed creating an eerie hum. “Can you hear that?” He hissed “He’s already started, we’ve gotta be quick” Doubling their pace they silently bounded down the hallways, following the sound as it got louder and louder…

Finally they arrived at a door; the noise was almost deafening now and was unmistakably coming from the other side of it. A voice shrieked inside at a climax.
“Ready?” Tyroque asked turning to face his companions. A familiar nod in unison answered him as he quickly and quietly turned the handle. It was locked. Panicking he stood motionless; his eyes darted from side to side until he was pushed out of the way. Grasping the sides of the frame Torrad balanced himself before kicking the door off its hinges in one kick. They rushed into the room as Xylax pointed at them:

“Now it is time!” He boomed as Tyroque felt two hands grip his ankles like iron. Wavering he turned to see Torrad wrestling with an Undead monstrosity. Its skin flaked around it as he pounded at it, grabbing its head he spun around and smashed its skull into the wall. He turned just in time to see two more charging him, he raised his hands to shield his face as he was planted and thrown to the ground. Dozens of hands tore through the rotting wooden floor and pinned him down. The monsters turned and gazed around the room, their eyes black and glazed showed no emotion, no life. The expressions on their face were another story; they seemed puzzled.

Don't take offence, i studied C+P Writing at uni just so you know..
When writing internal monologue you dont need the apost you just write it in italics like...

Aeronaut counted quietly to 50, wondering how is going fast with a low profile different from my idea?

Enjoyable read tho not trying to put you down :P It's always hard to edit your own work

My GF would like to come and respec her lvl 30 Stalker as well if thats ok?

Ok... So just to clarify

Zombie,GraveKnight and Lich = 6 slots each (total 18)
Fearsome Stare = 6 slots
Twilight Grasp = 5 slots
Tar Patch = 3 slots
Pet Gaze = 5 slots

- Should i slot Gloom?

could use some brutes and debuffers if anyone knows some looking to do it as well?

Ok so im level 30 and plan on respecing my Necro/DM MM as stated in the title.
At the moment I have the following powers...

Necro
Dark blast
Zombie Horde
Enchant Undead
Life Drain
Grave Knight
Soul Extraction
Lich

Dark Miasma
Twilight grasp
Tar Patch
Howling Twilight
Shadow Fall
Fearsome Stare

My other power sets are Fitness with Speed, Jumping and health and Flight with Hover/Fly.

Now I'm almost 100% sure im going to drop Life Drain, however im not sure whether Fearsome Stare and Dark Blast are worth keeping. This is partly where i need some advice; I could also use some advice with whether I should take different/more extra power sets and with slotting.

I fully intend to slot my henchmen with 6 slots, but could use some advice with how many slots and what enhancements would be best to use in other skills, twilight grasp for example, how many sockets, how many healing enhancements? Should I drop some recharge SO's into it as well? Etc.

I'm not asking anyone to give all the information i'm after because it may be quite time consuming, but bits from different people would be welcome.

lol trying to travel thru St Martial at level 25 is a fun way of gaining exp debt; i die traveling thru it at levels 29/30... :P

Im a level 30 MM Necro/DM i'd like to get this done before i level again so count me in, if u malefactor me might make the end mission easier?

I love my level 20 mastermind. I'm a one man group and an awesome addition to any other group. Using DM i can keep them all healed and i can't wait to get my Lich. The Grave Knight and making ghosts from the fallen pets rock. Although tourtured spirits can be a pain to control its awesome when i get wiped out and its the only thing left and i can use it to own the remaining mobs and work off my debt before going to the hospital/reviving.

Just started a brute tho, and thats fun, but im only playing that whilst my friends who were a little late getting the game level up. As soon as they hit level 20 im back on my mastermind. Providing i get my missions debugged :P

Righto, very helpful, hopefully the GM will be just as forthcoming

Ok, now i'll do that if you explain what you mean. Sorry but i've only been playing a week.

2 things really:

1) I cant get even, when ppl just put me in a hold and drag me 500 yards into mobs, without using breakout inspirations. But then they'll just do it again (after they've killed me) Im a Mastermind, I die in like 2-3 hits.

2) I can see no way to bypass the bloody bay missions, hell i've even filled the guys bar completely there. When ever i talk to a contact and ask about missions they tell me to go to Bloody bay. ALL of my contacts in my list do this. Ranging from all the zones i've been in upto cap au diable. The only option i have is running newspaper missions. Why is this? My friend filled the BB contact's bar trhingy, and came out and got missions off the Seer in mercy straight away, i cant?

Am i bugged or doing something wrong? i've checked all my contacts, even brokers... nothing.

Hi ive been playing for less than a week so sorry if this is an old and overasked question but...
Im currently level 19 (mastermind) nearly level 20. All my contacts are pushing me to run missions in Bloody Bay, which i did grudgingly. So i ran like 6-7 missions (got lamed by ppl who find it funny keeping me in hold and dragging me into NPC's so i lose exp) then when the bar for that contact was full... nothing. All my contacts continue to tell me to go to bloody bay.
I didn't make this toon for PvP and i dont like having it forced on me. What must I do in bloody bay to resume doing normal missions, atm all i can do is newspaper missions and to be quite honest robbing the same back over and over again from the Cap Auy Diable Broker is getting seriously boring.
