Sooner, Ice, T, Rasta and I ran it the other night, and damned if two of us actually weren't called out for enjoying ourselves (Ice and I). Seeing as how normally I'm screaming bloody murder by the third mish in (even at Sooner), it was a pleasant surprise. The level boost thingy makes it worth it, and alleviates most of the major hassles.

Did they ever fix the bug where the repairmen weren't working correctly at the towers?
-
How come I never get cakes like that?
And happy happy to you (but after seeing that cake, I don't think being happy will be a problem). -
The first two were a blast. I didn't get to go on the third, so I hope you had great success!
-
I'll give it a shot, T, but it might be a hair early for me - HOWEVER - Are you running more than one, or just that one and done for this weekend? If I miss the Virgil, I might be able to make another later-
-
I have a 42? I think Widow, and many toons that can hit the TF's/SF's under your conditions - I'd get in if you wanted to run one this weekend maybe, if you could lock down a definite time.
-
One of the best all-around people I regularly team with.
-
Hook 'em horns, right Sooner?
If you get a league going, I'd get in. -
Really, I don't know what's making me do this (probably because I have to get back in a particular mindset for work), but for the record? Wherefore, in Shakespearean language? It means why.
"Wherefore art thou Romeo?" means, "Why are you named Romeo?" - Juliet is making a reference to the fact that he's a Montague, and off-limits for her. She's not asking where he is.
So "Wherefore art thou Hamidon?" Is asking what made him, why is he who he is. My guess? Bad science experiment gone wrong. (But who reads game content to be sure? ) -

Sigh. I go back to work this week, which means my CoH daily playing is officially over. It'll be back to once or twice a week for an hour or two here and there for the duration. So I'm depressed. On the other hand, it's making me think back to all the fun I had this summer.
*Running the new Reichsman TF with a lopsided team of six, and beating the pants off it. You all rocked.
*Finding out that in the posted pix of some of the fastest TF/SF completions on Protector, I was in most of them, if not all of them. Darkest Lament and Spinedancer, FTW!
*The worst TF I've ever been on, a Citadel run with the worst tank and scrapper I've ever seen, which had the people I told about it on TS howling with laughter. If it hadnt been for Jan and Sooner on that same TF, I'd have pulled my hair out. Yet somehow, we succeeded!
*Some hilarious TSpeak conversations, and a couple not-so-hilarious but still fun conversations where the participants almost needed to be separated.
*All my new projects, including my new tank and dominator. Sadly, my new brute never made it out of the teens.
What are the best memories that you had this summer? I'll (for once) list my toon names that I played this summer (I have several that never came out of the box this summer), in case any of them involved yours truly.
Witch, lvl 50 Ice/Ice Blaster
Overpass, lvl 50 Stone/Fire Tank
Spinedancer, lvl 50 Dk/Dk Corr
Darkest Lament, lvl 50 Sonic/Ice Corr
Bobsled, lvl 50 Kin/Ice Def
U-295, lvl 50 Earth/Rad 'Troller
Disco Belle, lvl 50 Illusion/Sonic 'Troller
Crimson Rhino, lvl 43 Inv/Mace Tank
Jupiter's Vengeance, lvl 42 Grav/Elec Dom
The rest of my toons probably didn't run more than a mish or two this summer. So - What did you see that you liked these months (even if it didn't include me)? -
Quote:Exactly. What would have made it funny would have been, "Canadian votes welcome, eh?" Or, cribbing from South Park, "Canadian votes welcome, eh buddeh?"
That joke was not funny yesterday live, and it's not funnier on the forum...
Then it would have been hysterical. -
Of course you do; you're an intelligent person and obviously recognize the epic wonder that is my posting ability.
Quote:Sure the newness of a classless system and eye-candy is appealing.
But in the end, it's Emmert AND Roper (to whom the term "flagshipped" is glued onto) who are at the head of this and that does nothing but worry me.
Players shouldn't be overly surprised then if 1) once launched, the game will remain very static in terms of mechanics, even if buggy ("it's my game - you just play in it"), and 2) multiple ways of getting your money will be in place through paid expansions / updates, microtransactions and the like.
Quote:I've never felt Paragon Studios was out there to do a quick "cash in" on a popular genre. Not so with Cryptic at this point. -
While I have no real opinion one way or another about his song choices, I have to say it's hard to go wrong with the names of two of them. How do you get much cooler than "50,000 Unstoppable Watts" or "King of the Stereo"? On name value alone, those are my picks.
(Myself? I've always wanted the first screaming chorus of Zep's "Immigrant Song" to be blasted at full volume the minute I walked into somewhere - but that's just me.) -
Meh. I've seen the trailers and early beta stuff leaked to youtube, and I'll say this: While looking visually stunning (let's be honest, it's a great looking game), it has one major flaw, to me, and that's its developer.
Having played CoH from the beginning, and listening to all the stuff early on they "just couldn't do" for us, CoH has gotten nothing but better since Jack left it. Much of the stuff he said couldn't be done are somehow, without him, now being done; not to mention all the neat new stuff that has been developed and hit since he left.
So CO of course looks great now. It's fresh, and it's new. But what about 3 months? 6? When a few complaints and suggestions start rolling in from the playerbase. I remember the mass exodus of players from I3-I5 (I myself took a hiatus at the end of 5 for over a year) caused by some of his develpment and attitude, and I've seen nothing like that since he's been gone.
So CO looks good now. I might even pick up a copy and drive it around. But don't kid yourselves about what you're getting, and from who. -
Sweet. Thumbs up. I only have two, but in a response to one of my posts earlier in the day one of the 'Bamas had three, so I'm sure they'll be along soon to.......wait a minute. That was innuendo earlier, wasn't it?
I see what you may or may not have done there. What you did or didn't do there? I see it. -
1. What is your favorite AT?
Controller. I've gotten four of them to 50, and if I wasn't experimenting with V-side and some odd projects at the moment, I'd probably have half a dozen. My two favs that I play are my Illusion/Sonic, Disco Belle, and my Earth/Rad, U-295.
2. What is your favorite zone?
Founders- I just like the look to it. Talos would be a close second. I think they're the best designed zones in the game.
3. Which is your favorite story arc?
I don't get to play it much, but I always liked the Nemesis "Weatherman" arc. It just feels the most comic-booky to me in the game. Stopping an evil arch-villain from creating a weather control device and taking over the world? THAT's what I pay my cash-per-month for.
4. In Paragon City, which stores do you like best?
I'd have to say the Tech store in Talos. It's close to the train, so when I'm in a hurry it's usually the place I go see my junk. Sarafina's a close second, for similar reasons.
5. In the Rogue Isles, which Patron do you like best?
GWidow, probably. I like Scorp's arc better, I think, but since I received a merciless hammering from the EB at the end, repeatedly, tie goes to the one that gives me less of a problem.
