I too am kind of sick of seeing Dev's Choices fill up the first page. Especially since now they changed the default search options so they'll still show up even if you voted on them unless you change the search options.
Here's a thought, they always have the Dev's Choice tag. So they'll come up if you search Dev's Choice. So why not have the arc show up on the front page for about a week before making it so you have to search for Dev's Choice to get them? Having them show up on the front page by default almost defeats the purpose of being able to search for Dev's Choice missions.

That's a good point.
I guess how I feel about it is, is the fun supposed to be in just making missions and throwing them away or actually having other people perchance enjoy them?
I vote for rotating. -
I keep hoping the email will be someone making a comment about my AE mission. Instead it is always, always spam.

I don't see that as being a dev or coding problem though. That's just people being too lazy to use the search features or click the next/previous links. You can lead a horse to water, you can't make it drink.

But that is exactly what the default sort does - it leads the horse to water. And that's all I'm asking for.
I'll say it once again - I find it hard to believe the best arcs were all created in April.

I'm sure there are many great arcs written since April. Use the search features available to you and you'll find them.

I think they call this swing and a miss. -
Someone mentioned being able to go do their demon farm now in PI...what's that all about?
-
So filling has been around as long as the game has?
-
Maybe I'm totally not remembering how things used to be but wasn't this in the game before and they removed it?

Let's take something that encourages grouping (whether you agree it's the wrong way or not) and remove it. Let's take something that encourages soloing and put it in.
Something's torn alright.
Ignore the snark. It seems to discourage teaming, is all I'm sayin'
[/ QUOTE ]It doesn't discourage teaming at all. It just allows those who prefer a smaller team, or even none at all, to enjoy the game more.

Okay, how about it encourages players to team less? -

Oh really??? That's welcomed news to me. Thanks

Are you able to change the weapon later on at the tailor?

I made a post like this not too long ago.
They should move the DC arcs to a different section after a month or so. They've already proven to be good, they have their accolade, give others a chance.
One of the attractive features of MA is to have a feeling that your story could be enjoyed one day as well. When you realize, rightly or not, that your story will be quickly lost among the other thousands of stories you figure why bother.
Like I asked earlier, you mean to tell me the best stories were all created in Mar and April? Puhleeze. -

The complaint is not that they are being fixed to fast. The complaint is that the abusers of them are necessitating those fast changes.
He's putting fault not in the quick reaction time towards cheaters, but straight into the laps of the cheaters.

So you expect sympathy from farmers?
And on the comment about 10 minutes notice. I realize we pay to play this game 24/7. But I always am a bit puzzled by players (not just in CoH) who treat the game like it is a life-support system or is keeping airplanes in the air. -
No offense, but it sounds like you are complaining just to complain imo.
It's a no-win situation, people complain that exploits aren't being fixed fast enough, others complain they are being fixed apparently too fast. -
Not sure how far the OP's friend got, but moving AE out of Atlas, wouldn't change doing sewers which is essentially the same as ae imo, at least from 1-7.
-
They have to either (1) restrict our access to AE (not my recommendation) or (2) make the other stuff more appealing.
(1) The ease of access is my biggest draw even above the amount of levels/influ you can get.
(2) I finally ventured outside of the AE building to get a cape. -
1-2 hours isn't bad at all. Especially on a weekend. Thanks all.
-
I remember task forces basically taking up a Saturday. I can't do that anymore. How long do TFs take nowadays?
-
Is it a coincidence that the best, most played arc where created in Mar/Apr?
I say make the initial sort go by most recent month so some new arcs can get some exposure. -
I'm not the only one then! Hahah
-
I was playing on a trial account and that's how I found out about AE.
After failing to make my own mission, I bought an account to do so.
If they then said I had to level to 50 before getting to play around with it I would have been ticked. Especially since I currently have more fun playing 10 alts mostly under level 20. -
In my opinion, the ae themselves aren't the "villians", instead it's the ability to do missions without having to travel anywhere. Especially at low levels, it is more appealing to spend time *doing* missions than *getting to* them.
What is the new player going to choose? I know what *I* prefer!
And even worse, extreme case, I started thinking about why bother to take a travel power at all?
I admit I flip-flop on the issue. While I'm trying to find a team I think AE is the worst thing ever, but once I'm on a team in an AE mission I think its the best thing ever.
While I'm getting all this easy XP and influ I think it's the best thing ever. When I find myself chained to it, because trying to doing other stuff doesn't pay as well I think it's the worst thing ever.
While I'm doing a hami AE getting lots of xp without risk I think its the best thing ever, but no risk is boring and it never takes long to feel like its the worst thing ever.
You see where I'm going with this, it is indeed the double-edged sword. -
And suggestions about power sets? I remember years ago I think people usually took fitness or was it speed?
-
As a "new" player I see 50+ teams looking for fire/kin and leveling fire/kin looking for teams more than anything else by far.
I assume endgame consists mostly of challenges where fire/kin is required/desired/necessary? -
I was paired up with an earth controller. Maybe I didn't notice the level difference. Seems like earth had a nice aoe around my level.
And yes I'm wondering if the pairing of Sonic and Mind Control was a bad idea for some reason I can't see yet.
