This thread is, literally, full of WIN.

I'm guessing the Grimms and the Reapers have a long connection. Given the names, it could be they were once part of the same group, i.e the Grimm Reapers.

Quote:Exactly. The problem you may run into, is that if the Devs think 'it looks stupid' it won't matter if you think that argument is invalid. The Devs aren't objective when it comes to aesthetic choices, and they get to make the decisions whether we like them or not.
There's no objective argument to be had because the reasoning is subjective.
-
There are rules in every fictional universe. They don't just throw everything out the window.
They choose which real-world laws apply and which are broken base on interest, feasibility, gameplay, plot and looks.
This would look stupid and be nonsensical, imo (and probably the Dev's opinion, too.)

My opinion of knights has been greatly lowered.

Quote:This for me, as well. Very well put!I play for the character concepts, and that's the extent of it. Like Minecraft is a tool for the creative far more than it is a game, City of Heroes is a tool for the budding artists among us who just aren't particularly skilled at any of the visual arts. I can't draw for ****, I can't model, and while I CAN write, it's not visual enough. City of Heroes gives me a tool to put my imagination into a tangible form, and then play with it as though it were a toy. When I was a kid, I had a series of action figures (Batman, Robo Cop, Skeletor, etc.), but was never satisfied in how limited they were in motion. I always wanted to have a cartoon... No, a GAME made after my own imaginary characters.
Now I can!
City of Heroes has been by far the greatest source of inspiration in my entire life. This is less so because of what it offers as source materials and more because almost anything I can think of, I can make here, and I can have make sense with some degree of effort. This kind of freedom is stimulating, it causes me to try and come up with ever more unusual characters, ever more interesting characters, ever more absurdly amazing designs, as if to test the limits of what I can achieve. And there really is no hard limit on what you can create in City of Heroes. Where hints of it exist, we can simply appeal to the development team, and those limits will usually go away. I wanted to have a giant green troll woman with a giant sword. As of yesterday, I finally can.
The rest of the game is "not bad." I've played a lot of MMOs since I started City of Heroes, and this one is just about the only one which doesn't irritate me and waste my time with busywork. Missions are straightforward, for the most part - find instance, kill and click everything inside, hope your objective is achieved when you do so. The story is actually pretty interesting when it doesn't try too hard, giving me both examples of good writing and very cool ideas from time to time and it very rarely pisses me off.
Essentially, City of Heroes - to me - is a creativity tool that I love attached to a game that does not bother me.

Hey, Boar!
I, too, was looking for a RPSG and recently found one that is just starting out. We have a retty good group, so far.
Check out the site: http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.asp...&TabID=3672606
My Global name is 80sBaby. Hit me up!

I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel's makes that the new reason, though. they love a good, pointless retcon.

Cyclop's blasts are concussive force. He actually absorbs sunlight and converts it into his eye beams. Cytorak has nothing to do with it.
Havok absorbs all ambient cosmic energies for his powers. That's why their abilities don't hurt each other.
Oh, and Cyke's GOML (Get Off My Lawn) blast is pretty uber.

The Steel Surfer?
Although, I kinda dig the new look.

Quote:The fact that you were able to post that shows the forums are not COMPLETELY broken. Thus, the previous post I was responding to is hyperbole. The login problems, which causes a multitude of OTHER problems such as losing track of "last read" posts. This has been around for well over a year now.
The broken hero skin, which causes lost images and broken page borders. This started a month or two ago.
Have there been issues? Yes. Have some of them been ongoing? Again, yes. Is the forum completely screwed up? No.
I post almost daily, as well, and haven't encountered anything too horrible. YMMV.

Quote:Thor did as well.In my recollection, the only one who's ever been able to harm a Celestial (outside of WhatIf alt-canon and without obliterating themselves in the process) is Sue Storm.
He had to wrap his Belt of Strength around Mjolnir to do it, though and fire his Godblast to do it.
And, as was stated, it destroyed the hammer in the process of cracking the Celestial's armor.

Quote:Right. "Huggernaught" was weaker because he was all goody-goody.But...but...but...
Dammit, the reason Cain didn't stay good was because Cytorrak was limiting his power because he wasn't being an engine of destruction.
Basically, the played to Cy's vanity. Yeah, Cain was causing mayhem BUT it was in someone else's name (The Serpent.)

Quote:Who said they expect us to believe that? There are many reasons why these numbers would be kept secret. Pretty much all of them are not to the benefit of the consumers. If Paragon expects us to believe that they're not trying to soak us for a quick buck, it would behoove them to back up their talk with numbers.
They're a business. Their sole purpose is to make a "quick buck." Anyone who doesn't believe that is incredibly naive so I doubt they're really trying to fool anyone.
It is what it is.

I agree with the chrorus.
Specifically themed content is something I would very much like to have happen.
The idea of an exclusive AE team for specific origin stories is a fantastic idea, as well. Should post on the AE forum.

During FI (Fear Itself.) Cain was given one of the Worthy Hammers and, combined with his Juggernaught abilities, was TRULY unstoppable (Cyclops comes up with, like, 50 different plans which all fail.)
So, as a back-up, he has Magik, Peter and Kitty travel to Cytorakk's realm to get him to reemove his enchantment. The demone-god does so and is about to choose Illyana as his new vessel until Pete interferes and gets it.
He then goes on to fight Cain, mano y mano.

Quote:Oh, k.The wider-than-normal view of any thread while using the "heroic" skin. That was supposed to be fixed today as well as changing it so that every VIP's username would be gold by default. The log-out bug was not on the fix list.
Doesn't seem more pressing than F2P to me. Especially from a business standpoint.

He recently showed up in Uncanny X-Force (AWESOME book, btw.)
He was basically re-incarnated as some kid and X-Force had to make a moral choice of whether to kill a child for what he "might" become (I won't tell you how it turns out but is was great, imo.)
Oh, and I love Emma on the team. Her relationship with Cyclops is one of the most refreshing things at Marvel. They rarely show a realistic, adult relationship in comics, so I like it. Can't stand Jean Grey.

Quote:That's just it. Nothing's changed. He's still supposed to be a big X-men villain but it's the frellin' X-men!Is that a sign of being sucky now? I haven't read main universe Marvel comics for a long time now(1) but back when I was reading the X titles he was a pretty big deal, one of the (if not the) most dangerous enemies of the X-Men.
What's changed?
1.stopped not long after the Twelve storyline I think it was. The snippets I remember from when I was last reading are that Wolverine had been made the horseman of death and gotten out of it, The High Evolutionary changed all the mutants to humans which got fixed and Magneto got nucked by Xaviers strangled in the womb twin sister and Emma frost joined the team.
Apocalypse is a mutant who's been alive for millenia, can alter his gentic structure at the molecular level and has access to Celestial tech for the same amount of time. Yet, what has he actually accomplished in all that time? NOTHING. Dude couldn't even succeed in killing an infant (Black Manta's done that much and he's an Aquaman villain.)
Now, think about someone like Doom, Magneto or even the Red Skull. All of them have had far less time and resources than Apocalypse yet have achieved MUCH greater results.
If I had my way, Poccy would be a villain of the entire Marvel U, not just the X-Men. Now, he's pretty much a jobber so I can't respect him.
