  1. i decided id make a FM scrapper as it hits hard, and SR seems like a good secondary to go with it, so here is my shot at a high damage, tough scrapper, able to excell in end game content, just looking for constructive criticism, if you review the build and dont see anything wrong, please say so, dont just not say anything
With out further ado, meet Pyrostorm

  2. 4c3Player

    Pimp my scrapper

(im not trying to be rude at all, but it may sound like it)
many of your powers are overslotted, and some underslotted, so instead of being boring and listing all the things i am just going to post the build for my Fire/SR scrapper, fully built for incarnate a$$ whooping ( not for you to make a fire/sr but just see how i used enhancments and where), there are two things that the build doesent show,
    1. you dont need the body mastery pool, look at my build, i have plenty of endurance recovery and no body, i went for the extra DPS
    2. Agility core paragon (Alpha slot) is like your best friend EVER, it
    increases
-Endurance modification by 45%, helps with recovery, partially how mine is so high
-Recharge rate by 33% PERFECT for a scrapper, more recharge, more DPS
-Defense buffs by 20%, this increases the amount of defense given by your powers, allowing you to hit incarnate softcap MUCH easier
That alpha and SR are IMO a match made in heaven, they just sync very nicely

    Hope this helped! good luck!
follow this mini guide and your scrapper will be much closer to a "peak scrapper"
  3. definitly not going fiery aura, not tough enough for me, im not sure what secondary, but i will post it for revision as i always do, so you will find out soon enough. i will not be going the tank path however, i simply love those orange numbers, and tanks dont have enough of them for me. the responses so far for fiery melee are just what i as hoping for, lots of damage, this toon should be fun

  5. thinking of making somthing with FA, how is its DPS, does it hit fairly hard? ( i love killing things fast ) how does it copare to other sets? its a fire so id assume its dps is decent at least, im looking to make somthing that kills alot, and with good speed, not just ST, AOE too, i realize it only has one AOE , is it decent?( not worried bout secondary) will this fufill my wish?

    This
  7. and relying on rebirth for that heal is ridiculous, 1. We're talking about the set 2. If you wanna add in destinies I can go grab a lvl 1 defender and tank JUST as well as u for 30 sec with a buddy running barrier
  8. Polydeuces, I just don't get just how SR has so much more potential, the only things I see that SR has that EA doesn't is better DDR and less of a psi hole, how does that make the set soo much more capable? And obviously Alrdy mentioned,EA has a heal, that's very nice, even if it isn't a huge heal, it's a lot better than noting, I've played plenty of 50 SR' and its annoying when you dont have any greens and that health Bar is dwindling
  9. ALL i was saying people is that EA is a great set, in my opinion (which the numbers back) Play what you want, whenever you want, i was just showing people who may not know of this "underdog" set's capabilities. enough of the argument

-if you have ANY questions about EA please send me a private message, dont be discouraged by the back and forth.

I find psi in Lambda or toxic in UG to be a complete non-issue on almost any character, especially since we're counting Destiny, which means you're at least +2 and probably +3.
For the DDR problem, there's always Ageless.
/SR does do better in some edge cases, but IMX they are indeed edge cases, while /EA's advantages come into play much more often.

Showing so much favoritism that you think I'm hating on /EA? Yes, I have a 50+3 KM/EA. It's one of my favorite characters and I've mentioned how great it was to level an /EA already. But is it as capable as my MA/SR in iTrials? Nope, for reasons already mentioned. Tone down the bias a bit please.
If your KM/EA is not as capable (only based on secondary, not bringing in primaries) as your MA/SR then your EA wasent built to its optimal capabilities
/EA is almost everything SR is and more!, heres my evidence

    SR advantages
    Surperior DDP
    Typed defenses, helps against Psi

    Similarities
similar base defense numbers(one is positional, the other is typed, but similar values)

    EA advantages
    Heal
    self+endurance
    Stacking+ rech
    Resistance
    endurance drain resistance
  13. I feel you are either trolling or for some reason feel the need to hate on EA, you see the evidence that we have provided and you turn your head and ignore it, have you eveer played a 50 EA? its not this weak lil toon if it was made right, i would pit a EA against a SR Anyday, and the EA would come out on top 9/10 times

    Thanks for any help.
absolutley, i take advantage of it, it gives a quite nice def bonus

You are putting SR, WP, and Shield over a set that can achieve the same def numbers, has a click heal, a click end drain, and +rech to make both up faster? I get the impression you are intentionally missing a point.

You also seem to think that SR, WP, and Shield have no weak points. Yeah, continuing the conversation is pointless. I will wait let someone else take this up. Me, I am going to make a Staff/Ea toon as soon as it hit live.
All of this, but especially the purple, this is SO correct i cant even stress it enough, i admit those three have some nice things (mostly SD)(to me EA is just SR but way better) but i just cant compare them to EA, the ocasional nice thing compared to all the awesome things EA has? forget about it
<edit> also, you act like there is these HUGE weaknesses in EA, lol give me ONE secondary with no holes, if anything id say EA is one of the MOST capable of dealing with holes, gotta hole? theres a heal for that!
  16. On the contrary to what youve said about it not being well rounded i find its MORE well rounded i feel it takes aspects from most, if not ALL the other secondaries
    Self Heal-FA
    a little Res-WP
    Self + End-FA
    Great Defense-SR/SD
    self+rech-SR/elec
I find EA the best of all these secondaries as it has some of the best aspects of them
personally i have little problems with carnies/arachnos or any psi, ran a +4 kill all lady grey TF and i ocassionaly took a diff path than the team and soloed mobs with only mild difficulty, if somthing is gonna hurt youwith psi Rikti will, they have alot of psi if you havent noticed, those holes arent quite so gaping eh?
  17. Dr and kazz, you both present very valid points, mostly what everyone has said so far is my Cons were TOO HARSH, that shows a good secondary, no?
  18. Ive recently came to the realization that EA is quite good while messing around on mid's and id like to share the pro's and the con's of it, to inform people who may not know of it and are looking for a good secondary and to see what other people think of energy aura as a whole i will rate these powers on a 1-5 star basis)

    Pros
    1. Stacking +recharge in Entropic Aura.
    2. Decent self heal.
    3. Self + endurance power
    4. Great tier 9 for sticky situations
    5. Great defense values
    6. A little RES
    7. Endurance drain protection (Silly sappers you cant hurt me!)
    8. Self stealth (tied with super speed is just as good as invisibility)

    Cons
    1. Endurance heavy
    2. Harsh crash in Overload (leaves you with 0 endurance)
    3. Defense debuff protection isnt great
    4. Bit of a weakness for Negative damage
    3. Very little psionic protection

I may have missed some, but those are the things i can think of right away, These are the reasons i feel EA is one of the best scrapper secondary, its like Fire aura, but for defense, The defense is like SR, but it does so much more!
  19. All in all i'd say it looks like a decent build, i have a lot of experience with EA as it is my favorite secondary, here are the things i'd change

-The shield wall in CJ i would say is not nescesary, there is not a ton of Tpers in the PVP zones, atleast from what ive experienced, and 3% res is very little(not worth 1 bill+ IMO)
    -Power siphon IMO is overslotted
    - the overall amount of DEF you have is a bit overkill, 45% is fine IMO
-The 3% def from the Glad's armor is also very little, again with the TP proc aswell(not worth 1bill+ IMO)
-the amount of damage added by assault is not worth the endurance, i aslo think maneuvers is not need as you already have siphon, the more toggles the more you will have to fight with your endurance, and KM is a fairly end heavy primary aswell, EA is a end heavy secondary , your current end consumption is 2.22E/sec, that is a TON, just removing maneuvers and assault brings it down to 1.64E/sec, my main is a Claws/EA scrapper, Claws is a very light set and he still struggles with only 0.73 end consump, if you left your end at 2.22 AND using KM you would be out of end VERY fast
    - i would consider Cardiac alpha as this is a very End heavy build
    - i would also reconsider spring jump as it is not a very good attack IMO
-your probably aware but just incase, this would be a quite expensive build, the purples are alot and the PVP io's

and those are my nitpicks, please repost a build if you do decide to create another!
  20. thanks alot claws, ill defenitly change those end redux io's into aegis's, i apreciate the feedback
  21. i added spring attack because i remember that you can bind teleport so when you hit Ctrl and click it will tp you to that location, im hoping i can work out kinda the same thing, jump into mobs
  22. About a month ago i made this toon, a claws/energy scrapper, sabre' he recently hit 40 and i decided id begin working on his build, ATM i absolutley love him, ive never had a claws or energy toon, i didnt think id like claws because it apperently hit very lightly,i had never really payed much attention to energy aura before, awhile ago i was messing around on mid's and realized its potential, if you ask me its amazing, a self heal, self endurance, decent defense numbers, and entropic aura's stacking + recharge, its my cup of tea.

This toon will be kind of a speedster, hence the emphasis on the movement powers, theres also a bit more emphasis on them becuase i found myself with quite a few extra slots once i was done with the main powers, it is a bit franken-slotted but i think it is plenty sufficent, the defense numbers are a bit below 45% but i plan on having barrier, so even when barrier is at its lowest defense buff i will have 45%, before i get barrier i can just use lucks.

i made this build a bit late at night so its likely ive made stupid mistakes, im looking for constructive criticism please, if you so desire you can post a build that you created, but i feel all the powers in this build are usefull and id like to keep them, but feel free to move enhancement slots/sets around
    Sorry for the long post
