Ok, the 320x480 version of Praetoria is up there, lemme know how it turns out
-
Why does this matter so much? I don't see a point in changing either name.
-
Well if you let me know which one you want at that size, I will see what I can do
I'll work on these a bit later today. -
Don't know the resolution. And which one?

Barely read the thread, but this is actually one of my biggest issues with CoH. We have this giant world, INTRICATELY crafted... and running around in it is cool... but it's static. It's just there. I think we need weather, but that's another thread..
The problem with doing Open World stuff in CoH is really how to make it heroic (or villainous), and to minimize griefing... and also to have a good reason to actually repeat it.
Take stuff like the Troll Rave and the Steel Canyon Fires for instance.. something bad is happening, a bunch of heroes go "oh crap!" and then run in to stop the trolls or put out the blaze. It's a lot of fun, actually!
(Especially the fires on my Ice/Ice Blaster )
Take those and in addition to the badges, add some kind of reward.. PPD Merits or something, I don't really care what. you get these from doing ANY Zone Event (barring GMs).
Now, take the idea that something is actually happening.. and proliferate it. I'm sure a bunch of our favorite nerds sitting around a table (the devs) can quickly spin out a whole bunch of ideas that would work for these zone events.
I'm gonna sound a bit extreme here, but this is exactly what I wish would happen.
Make at least 3 for every hero side city zone, and at least 5 for every villain zone. At least one should be active during each "game day".
I have some ideas, but I'm not gonna really go into 'em. This is what I think should happen though. -
Given that she's a demon summoner, the name Desdemona may in fact, make some kind of sense.

Rachelthulu - How about making glowies act as friendlies with a series of point blank area of effect buffs that ignore line of effect, each with a progressively smaller radius? Have the buffs do nothing, but they stack with each other. So as you get closer and closer to the center more icons appear as 'effecting' you.
[/ QUOTE ]This actually makes the most sense to me. Either that, or an arrow like effect on the compass map that shows up when within a certain radius.

An extremely good idea if it's feasible. -
No worries Like I said, if you want me to create a different resolution version specifically, let me know, as I have the original .PSDs.
-
Ok, more added.
Desdemona (Evil). VERY happy with how this one came out. I didn't have enough image to fill the screen while standing so I used two images, and I think it's my best one, it just became my wallpaper..
Maelstrom (cocking his gun).
Manticore (both looking away, and at, the camera).
A much better Statesman... how come I didn't see how to do that in the first place..? -

Nice job baby. Glad to see you are still playing.

WTF? -
I left Manticore out cause I am under the impression most people aren't very.. impressed by him :P I can do a manitcore and another Dedemona in the hallway. I was considering that to begin with. What resolution are the wallpapers that already exist on your phone?
-
Sure that sounds cool I am gonna wait and see if any more requests pile up and do em all at once. I can definitely do a closeup of the gun Should it just be his hand on it or should the of the gun actually be pulled back in the cocking motion?
-
These were made for the LG Vu, they are 240x400.
I am willing to take specific requests for different resolutions, so long as my patience for it lasts
I use Bluetooth to get these on my phone. To do that, you have to have Bluetooth enabled, and have your phone set to visible. Then go to the file in your windows explorer, right click, send to, Bluetooth Device. It will search for nearby devices and will need to connect. You may need to use a passcode, which you simply make up and enter on both devices so that they match. If that doesn't work, you will need to do Bluetooth setup in your Windows Control Panel.
Of course to do all this, your computer has to be capable of using Bluetooth. If it's not, some phones have a way of connecting to computers via hardline, but I don't know anything about that, sorry.
Here they are, in mostly alphabetical order (first four made sense to have at the top):
City of Heroes: Going Rogue logo
Praetoria (Panorama of Praetorian courtyard)
Panorama mix 1
Panorama mix 2 (I find this one better lines up so that the GUI on my phone interferes with the image less)
Desdemona (Good)
Desdemona (Evil)
Emperor Cole (Tyrant)
Ghost Widow
Lord Recluse
Maelstrom (Good)
Maelstrom (Evil)
Maelstrom (cocking gun)
Manitcore (looking to the side)
Manticore (looking towards camera)
Statesman (another go at it, much better I think)
Different resolutions:
Praetoria (Same as above at iPhone resolution)
Panorama Mix (at 176x220)
EDIT: Forgot Praetoria
EDIT: Added Desdemona (Evil), Maelstrom (cocking his gun), Manticore (both looking away, and at, the camera), and a much better Statesman (how come I didn't see how to do that in the first place..?)
EDIT: Some alternate resolutions added by request. -
This is a bug, happened to me yesterday. To fix it, simply change one of the colors on the cape. Of course, it won't effect the cape, but it will make editing your costume COST something. Editing SOA costumes don't cost anything unless you change the color. By doing this, it should appear.

I think it looks cool. -
I have all the custom stuff unlocked.... is it not here, or am I not seeing it? I'd like a map that transitions from office, to cave to Rikti, like on the LGTF or in the various RWZ missions (even a couple Midnighter missions).

I had a good conversation with a person who played one of my missions and couldn't find the glowie. I mentioned I hadn't had trouble with it spawning, only that it would occasionally be quite hidden, but you should be able to hear it. Well, turns out, he can't hear anything. Three years ago, I was temporarily deaf (medical procedure) for close to a month.. I can tell you, it changes things. So I was reminded of something from another game I played, Anarchy Online. In the missions in that game, there were invisible mines and traps, and when you were close, you would hear a beeping. This beeping would grow in intensity the closer you got. But in addition to this beeping, your map would flash red in time with it.
I think it would be pretty cool if we got some kind of functionality that made your map or something else visually pulse while near a glowie (not all glowies are easily seen after all). You could turn this off in the options menu, so if you didn't want or need it, you could disable it. -
Yeah, disappointed SoAs didn't get any of these enhanced patron pools.

And remember, though salvage prices are up substantially in many cases, many IOs that used to cost 40 mil, now cost.. 4.
