So...this is just really damn confusing.
Does that mean that the NA Test and NA GR Test are two different servers on the same list that has one hidden if you dont have access? Or does GR get its whole own Test server log-in client and stuff?

If the former, then I can see no reason why the two 'not in use' servers on the EY test list cant be used. People keep avoiding that point.

I...don't think I caught all of that, but I get the suspiscion that it kinda missed the point.

On EU Test, the server list has 3 options. EU_Test, and two others. The other two are greyed out, and have been for some considerable time. The EU_Test is the one that people have been using, and are now locked out of if thye dont have CB access.

So, my question; Do those two other servers actually exist? If so, why are they not in use? If they dont exist, why are they still even listed?

In a jokey way, I meant that this Beta should be looked at as a preview before the actual release; the set's not being launched unannounced.
    Fair enough then

IF we decide to do a Super Booster: Beasts set in the future, is that something the average COH fan really wants? With every Super Booster, the general aim is to expand the limits of the costume library while enabling as many new character concepts as possible. Animal heads and legs are a niche sub-category that, for whatever reason, seems to get a lot of attention in these parts.

Our top goal is to give players what they want. We're open-minded, eager to please, and not opposed to anything, but let me play devil's advocate here and tell you why there might be some resistance to a hypothetical Animal Pack:

    A) There are already animal parts in the game. Given the LONG list of player requests, why build 'Werewolf Head #2' when we could make, say, a tech-themed fixed-wing, something that doesn't exist in the game currently?

    B) Animal parts don't appear to have mass appeal. COH is a living, breathing comic book universe, and our ongoing goal is to reflect the diversity of all the comic titles out there. But take a quick look at any comic book store and you'll be hard-pressed to find a single issue featuring an anthropomorphic character on the cover or otherwise. They're simply not that popular. So why build lizard parts or giraffe parts when it seems like VERY few people would be interested in them?

    C) Resources are limited. Everything we make comes at the cost of something else. If relatively few people would use animal parts, why should they be the top priority over some other theme?

Let me restate that I'm playing devil's advocate here. I wouldn't mind having a few more animal parts personally, but selling the team on a whole pack devoted to this theme is another matter entirely, especially with several other strong ideas on the table. If this is something you guys really want, please take this opportunity to make your case.
    A) Because the current 'Werewolf' heads look, pardon me, utterly fugly. They work for one set of character, the atypical 'evil drooling beat wolf' thing. Thats not the sort of character a lot of people would be after. See my above post for links of example that would appeal to people after that sort of thing.

    B) Sorry, but wheres the proof of that? I've seen a lot of players who have character who, if not fully anthromorphised, have say the ears or tail or something. Partly its hard to judge if people would make such characters, due to the current options being somewhat lacklustre. For example, unless you want to making a ravening, ubermonster doomwolf thing, you simply cannot make a decent wolf based character. Sure you can give them ears and grey skin...thats it. No wolf tails, not particularly great ears and no other defining features.

    C) Again, how is it known they would be unpopular? If your going off the reactions of a few people on the boards here, some people are very vocal about their hatred of 'Furries', deigning that all people who like any character with some anthro/animal parts is some sort of Nazi freak that needs to be strung out and shot, or something equally rediculous.

Also, might I add that Devs did say that, for people waiting for more anthro based pieces, the Mutant pack was the one to wait for? Well...unless you guys are hiding half the pack from us, this isnt what people were hoping for.

Basically, not giving yourselves, and the playerbase, options is akin to shooting yourselves in the foot. While not everyone would buy an anthro themed pack, a number of people would. Heck, a lot of people reportedly dont/havent bought the wedding pack. Was that a waste, knowing that a number of people did buy it?

David, if you mean people should log onto test to actually try the parts, then you do realise that the EU players cant, due to Closed Beta for GR occupying are one and only active test server? I know we'd love to test them (and get jump up and down on any bugs we find) but we cant...saying otherwise is kinda...well, yeah =/
  8. Well, a lot of people have voiced dissapointment with the 'Mutant' pack being more like Witchblade meets Prototype, despite Positron having mentioned that people wanting to make more anthromorph style characters should look forward to it.

    Mostly, you'll have heard it all before, but here's a few major contendors;

    1) Non-'Monstrous' Animal heads; Not every character that has a wolf/fox/eagle/hybrid-thing face is meant to look Ohmigawdteeth Evil. Some faces that could concievably show emotions and look more 'Heroic', or just plain neutral, would be nice. Ditto with the ear options.
    Example: http://redwinterwolf.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d2lp2tq
    (/end shameless self plug)

    2) Non-talon digitgrade feet; Same again, feet which look like actual animals, rather than a random be-taloned monstrosity.

    3) Anthromorph heads with optsions; Sunglasses, spikes, headbands, hair, whatever. Customisation is the law around here, and its something that the CoX CC does very well.
    Example; http://redwinterwolf.deviantart.com/...ites/#/d1afjbi

    4) More tails; See the above link for another good example. Wolf/fox tails that are bushy, possibly other options. There doesnt need to be loads, just enough with perhaps a few different pattern options that can be handwaved as a multitude of different species.

    5) Mechanised options; Armoured variants and helmets would be a nice touch (Although maybe less likely than some of the others) And hey, people could use them as simply stylised helmets as well, for whatever purpose they want.
    Example and self plug; http://redwinterwolf.deviantart.com/#/d2o7h62

Most of its probably been said before, or will be said again regardless. Just wanted to put my tuppence hapenny worth in there

The shock made him drop the woman too.

"Jack... stop fooling around and get in here before the gate closes!", Elizabeth called out to him... Growling at Alicia one final time he quickly followed.

The werewolf just reached the gate in time as it was already starting to shrink. Then it imploded... taking the Bell Tower with it!
A shape burned a little while longer after the rumble ceased. Leon DeFeurard stood on the edge of the tower, seemingly uncaring that of the massive blast that had just rocked the structure as he leaned on his blade. He swatted out a patch of fire that had caught on his elbow, before reaching into his blazer pocket and pulling out a pair of new, un-marred ruby lense glasses and putting them on with a sigh.
"I think that's a sign you've been out of things for a little too long, chap," he muttered to himself. "Hunters and hunted, symbolism and belief...that's what it used to be about. We were, and they feared us for it. We reminded them of mortality, and how life was short enough it had to count...and were repaid with our siestas from the never ending waking..."

Leon took a few steps, resting the katana over his shoulder as he looked out over the battlefield that had been the Cathedral grounds.
"But we never ruled. Led, yes...when you have charisma, it would be foolish not to use it. It was about the balance. Day and night, light and dark. Seek and hide, fear and fear around about, both sides....balanced."
He looked up, glaring at nothing.
"Upset that balance and it only leads to trouble. I think it's time the 'children of the night' learned that fear is just as much an emotion vampires experience as well as deal out...Its got to have that balance... Or 'Royally scr*wed' doesn't really do it justice."
  10. Stop killing off all your chars, Brit! D=

And I think Leon fits into a different slot entirely on that chart. He's not really Hunted, and he's only going to be Hunting the villains for a specific reason. Bit of a deep chap that one

I like it. I'd never really though about it too much, because I don't always use titles on my characters, except for the odd appropriate badge title I stumble blindly into.
    But I'd /sign this

Trust me, I refrain from using my facepalm links unless someone says something that really defies all logic, reasoning and simple common sense. If I did it to everyone who bugged me on the interwebs, I wouldn't be able to sleep I'd be so busy

I just dislike the fact that on the one hand we have Rednames stating how much they love the EU and are trying there hardest for it, bless its little cotton socks, and the next minute we get the sticky end of the stick for the umpteenth time.
I do have a suspicion that, yet again, Marketting is being so stingily over-protective of ANY information that it extends to the entire EU side, but even so, jaded I have become quite a lot of, hmm?

I'd reply fully, but if your going to lambast anything I say as trolling, then Im going to save my fingers the effort.
  14. Or, simply put;

NA has two test servers, one specifically for Beta, one for regular test

EU is stuck with one server, despite the fact there are two grayed out servers sat there doing nothing, and therefore anyone who's not in Beta simply cannot access Test. At all.

Which I find much more likely, and possessing a greater percentage of fail
  15. Which is at least some very good news, in that they've cracked the tech hurdle to have player owned glowy pieces...which makes me a very happy camper, might I add =]

Wrong. Its in anything non human.

    This guy?

He's an anthropomorphic personifcation. 'Death' is a thing, not a being. But humans took it and made it a him, and gave him, along with other things we put names to (War, Pestilince, Famine, to name but a few) and anthropomorphisised them.

'Furry' is a nickname given to animal based anthromorphs, and usually used as a term of insult to anyone who happens to like that sort of thing. Which just shows humans are, deep down, a bunch of -

Seems pretty balanced to me. They each get a travel power as an inherent ability that every other AT (including VEATS) has to spend power picks to get, so they are prevented from ever taking the powers their opposite gets for free to make it fair.
    ...Wait, what?
That doesnt make any sense at all. Otherwise why can they still get Super Jump or Super Speed? Its not like you can have two hovers on at once. Or two flys. You can maybe teleport twice as fast or recall friends faster...although probably not due to the animation time.

It makes sesne only...if your name is Jack Emmert, basically.

How can any gentleman allow that to go unanswered, half-breed?". Spinning the man disappeared and reappeared behind Leon, firing once more "how do you like the taste of my silver lines iron bullets, blessed in holy water and covered in the writing of the damned?". The figure grinned, fangs glinting in the light.
Leon sighed, watching as the forces of the Court retreated.
"Oh, owch....this jacket was almost new," he lamented, tugging at the now be-holed blazer. "As for hybrid bullets? Less concentrated, like any hybrid. More diverse, less powerful. And," he added with a grunt, as the projectiles hit the ground one after another, the wounds closing behind them, "like any poison it can, with training, become tolerable. Her left sword defelected Leon's, while her right came down aiming for his arm.

In the meantime Lilith had abandon the few demons she had left... another reason why Leon could kill them so easily as their mistress had left them unsupported. Instead she was channelling her energies into a spell seemingly targetting the Bell tower itself.

Jack still had his men on Alicia Barzini-Hunter. Two of them held her strongly making her watch. He stroked her face and neck... going down feeling her body. Then licked her face... "I hope she let me have you.", he said with his dark wolf-voice to her. "That would be fun..."

"Blood and sacrifice...ah, that explains it. Your not a Trueborn, are you? Not a born vampire...even better."
He ducked and spun with a kick like a piledriver aimed at Bathory's midriff, a smaller blade sliding out of his left sleeve as he turned, hurling it visciously at one of Jack's werewolves, catching it in the throat.
"I said no touching, boys! You don't want me to come over their and school you in manners," he shouted, before scything round with a two handed swing at Bathory.
  24. T'be honest, the part about 'What seems like an all out war' was accurate. Everything after that descends into meta-gaming. As an overview it worked, but not as a news report.
  25. I still have Absorb Pain on my Empath, and love the power. I only need 3 heal slots in it, and it can bring even the most +HP'd tanker back from the brink in one shot.
I do agree though, the 0.5 delay, while it doesnt seem like much on paper, is actually fairly noticeable in a fight.

While not 'essential', it would be nice for it to be instant.
