    Censorship should be censured.

Also: *looks up at previous post* Hahahahahah!

I know nothing of this bananahammocks thing you refer to other than seeing the quote to one on Aero's sig, but it sounds fun.

Foo made that comment after seeing the pic of my three Hotbod Boys. There is a link to that pic in the original post in this thread... The guy in the front does appear to be especially well "gifted."

    >.>
    <.<

    Aaaaaaaaanyway...

    Here are those pics.
    Zapros
    Krar
    Speedy
    TygerLily
    Acoustic Delusions
    HexGirl
    Diablo's Hitman and Revolving Spine
    Crazy Dr Sanger
    Sovereign_1
    SwiftStar
    Jack of Diamonds

So I made an interesting discovery while posting these...
...Apparently I need to work on my math skills.
Remember when I said I'd take ten requests?
Yeah, well, look at how many there are in that list.
  3. Well, this has been the Day From Beyond Hell.

I got to work, and everything was going fine although I started to get a mild headache at arooouuund, ohhhhh... 9:30? Maybe 10am?

Anyway, about an hour before my shift was supposed to be over I was told "By the way, <my regular afternoon replacement person> called in sick. Everyone else has plans for tonight, so we'll need you to stay around today so you can close up.

    I was not happy.
By 3:00 my head felt like it was going to fall off.

So, right now, I don't much feel like coloring any of the pics... I think I'll log into CoX and beat the tar out of some Freakshow, or something, instead.

However, since I'm not doing anything "artistic" tonight, I will go ahead and post the pics as they currently are. None have colors, yet, but they have all been lightboxed.

If you hapen to see that your pic does not have a background on it, do not despair... some of them just seemed to be better suited for "ambience" than for actual environment... They'll still look cool in the end, I promise.
Of course, "cool" is subjective, but they'll look cool to me.

So, yeah, give me like ten->fifteen minutes to copy/resize/rename them all, and then I'll post what I have so far... It may take longer since I'll also have to, y'know, make the post so you can see the links.
  4. Also, I think he missed the part where I said I wouldn't be showing WIP, but would just show off the final renders... Maybe.

I'm thinking I'll show the stages they went through all together at the end. So you'll all be able to see the process... Once I've finished it all.

Also, you're going to want to use the Magic Wand to select the area to shade/highlight. That keeps the shadows from creeping out over the background... it also allows you to use a bigger brush with the airbrush effect, so that the shading gradually fades from the darkest point (at the tip of the brush), to transparent along the edges.

Technically you don't have to do this, but I find it saves a lot of time from erasing.

    Examples.

The first bar is just red.
The second is with a Multiply'd layer of black over the bottom, set at 65% opacity.
The third is with both black on the bottom and white on the top, set at 65% opacity.
The fourth is using the Burn tool.
The fifth is using the Burn and Dodge tools.

In each bar I just used the Magic Wand to select the red bar I wanted to work on, and then did what I needed... no erasing neccessary.
  6. Well, I now have everything lightboxed and scanned back in... Coloring shall commence shortly.
  7. So, anyway, the pics have all been tweaked... most of them have some sort of a background, though not very detailed... and two of them have been completely started over from scratch.

I'll let you guys ponder which two.

I will start lightboxing some of them later tonight, with the hope of finishing the transfers for them all tomorrow, and then also, hopefully, starting the coloring process.

I'm going a little slower than I had hoped, but I'm pretty positive I'm ahead of the "June of 2009" deadline.

I sure hope not! Because then I'd have to say you really ought to work on that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was gonna make some comment about how working on it just seems to make it go away faster, but then I figured that might get modded, so I'll just not say anything.

    ...Ok, so anyway.

Yesterday, after posting the last two sketches, I crashed.

Totally and completely. It was one of those crashes where I was just typing along minding my own buisness and suddenly I found myself falling out of my chair about 15 minutes later.

I actually fell asleep in my chair... and managed to stay upright for a quarter hour... Go me!

Well, anyway, I'm back again today and have a fresh 2-litre of Mountain Dew right next to me, so we'll see how much I get done.

You're so cute when you're caffienated.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When you look as good as I do it's hard to not be cute at any time.
  12. Ok, the final two original preliminary sketches go to
Jack of Diamonds for Leech, and
TygerLily for TygerLily (by way of Memphis_Bill who wanted to remain anonymous, but I'm quite the gossiper... really. Oh the things I could tell you people! Phew!)

Now comes the veryveryvery frustrating part.
    >.>
    <.<
I'm going to not show any more progress until I reveal the final renders of all of them... Maybe.
    I may change my mind.
    But probably not.
    I don't think.
    Possibly.
    Sorta.
  13. Ok, I'm now back home and am gonna grab a bite to eat before I get back to the pencil.

Two more rough sketches to go, and then starts the tweaking.

    >.>
    <.<

...I am not staying up all night again, though... Those first couple of hours at work were....... unpleasant.

But hey! I am once again highly caffeinated, so we'll see how long I last before I crash out.
  14. Next we have

    Sovereign_1 for Sovereign_1,
    SwiftStar for PaladinZero, and
    Crazy Dr Sanger for Zeke.

Once again, I must stress that these are very preliminary and that they are going to see quite a few tweaks.

I am also waiting for a certain screeny from Bill, and I need Leech (my in-game requester) to pick which character from his ginormous list.

Now, I'm running a tad bit late and need to get going to work. I'll be back to work on these some more this afternoonish.
  15. Now I also have rough sketches drawn up for two more.

    Acoustic Delusions for Muad_Dib, and
Hex Girl for HexGirl... I finally figured out she had links in her sig... who knew?

Again, same rules apply: These are very rough prelims which will see a large variety of tweaking before they go anywhere near the lightbox. I may have time to finish it all up later today/tonight.... or I may be busy until two Mays from now.
  16. Ok, Bill, Hexy and Zeke, I'm gonna need screenshots of the characters you want done.

I have managed to get four rough sketches done so far.
    Zapros for Derek.
    Krar for Antihiro.
    Speedy for Striking_Speedy.
And Diablo's Hitman and Revolving Spine for TProtector.

Remember, these are very rough preliminary sketches. They will likely see several tweaks before they travel to the lightbox. After that I'll probably just rescan them and color them in.

Again, this may take as little as a day, or as much as two and a half years... *shrugs*
  17. Well, one of my New Year's Resolutions was "To do more Art."

I am thereby opening up my sketchpad to requests.
    That's right.
    >.>
    <.<
    It'll be free.

However, due to a cruel and unusual work schedule, as well as my obsession with a certain Superhero-oriented MMO, I must state up-front, that I can make no guarentees on timeliness. I may be able to make an entire piece in a day... or I could get it done in June... of 2009.

To start with, I am limiting the number of requests to 10. The first 10 posters to respond to this thread with a request will be the only ones I work on until the que is emptied. And I already have one person who sent me a /tell in-game asking if they could request a picture... So really the first nine people to post in this thread with a request will be chosen.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with my work, I present
    Some of my Hotbod characters
    and
    My main, Phoebus.

There is also a link to some of my older Sci-Fi/Fantasy work in my sig. Just to give you a taste of what I can do.

    Soooooo...
    Any takers?
  18. That is a wonderful picture.

Tell your boyfriend "Thank you" for us. Now we get to see your artwork.

One question, though. What kind of pens did you use?

  21. Oh Zeke... you know Phoebus would be willing to do this. And he's not picky about placement, either.

Here are some snapshots from his vacation in the Shadow Shard earlier this year. The scenery is breathtaking.

Just bind your server name for the channel.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is there a guide on that?

    Thanks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The command goes:
    /bind <key you wish to bind here> beginchat /send "Paragon Interlink" [<server name here>]

So say I want to use the L key as my hotkey for this and the server I'm playing on is Protector. It would look like this:
    /bind l beginchat /send "Paragon Interlink" [Protector]

Then, if I ever wanted to say something in that channel I would just hit the L key and it would automatically activate the chat window, and set the commands to direct the post to the global room in question.

What you would see in the room would be (using me as a sample):
[Paragon Interlink] Aerones: [Protector] And then whatever message I typed in.

Now, as a matter of taste, I use the [brackets] in my global room binds, but I have seen other people use everything from *asterisks* to ©Copyright© symbols. It is just a way of seperating any information you want to convey with the keybind from your Global Name.
