Quote:Ah, well, I stand corrected. However I do remember them saying it will never happen several times. This is false on its face. The very first official mention of power customization came from Positron quoting a developer who had no red name at the time (who I assume was Bruce before he got his BABs persona), which explained what was possible to do with power customization, what would be needed to achieve that and what amount of work it would consume. Even from the very first mention, it was made clear to us that this was possible, and indeed desirable, but time and resources did not permit it.
In any event, my point was that being able to superspeed up the side of a building is probably just as impossible as power customization was, meaning that it will probably never happen because it wouldn't impact as many people as power customization did. If you think about it almost anything is possible with enough work, we just shouldn't expect it to happen if that "work" is a total engine rewrite. -
I would normally agree with this logic, except that we had many many years of the devs telling us that power customization was impossible, and even those rare times where BaBs would admit that it was possible he would follow it up with a very certain "It's never going to happen!". So now I have a hard time believing that anything is impossible with regards to this game.

One thing I'd like to see on a control set is to make the AoE immobilize a location AoE, sorta like the sleep field that electric control has. Creating a dark field where tentacles will reach up and immobilize anything that walks through it would be kinda cool.

Lets not forget ITF too. Thanks to lag valley on the third mission that's the first thing I think of when someone mentions server-side lag.

Good guide! Your description of temperature protection gave me a better perspective on the skill. I think I currently have it multi-slotted out of habit so now I'm going to be changing that next time I respec.
Oh, also, under your description of RotP when you go over other tier 9 skills:

Quote:Tex, I've been getting this off and on since i20 and the last few times I've paid attention to the message. They're usually different pigg files that have the problem. Here's the last one I got:'-verify' happens at the beginning of the game.
'Repair (Check Consistency)' in the Launcher happens in the Launcher
'Verify All Files' happens in the old CohUpdater.
And yes, '-verify' just checks all of the files and does not attempt to fix them.
FPAWN?

Some quick runs this week, the combined times being just under an hour. Also I think I got around 6 shards, so overall not bad! Although I forgot to take a group screenshot at the end of the Tesseract and Nosferatu decided to hang out in our screenshot for Lazarus, he's such a party crasher.
Tesseract:
Team Size: 6
Deaths: 0
Time: 25:27
Lazarus:
Team Size: 6
Deaths: 0
Time: 29:27
Here's the Link to this week's screenshot album.
Next week we'll be running the Ice Mistral Strike Force. According to the List it was supposed to be the second respec trial, but we did that one already when we did the first respec trial. So, Ice Mistral is level 35+ and awards the Enchantment of Serafina temp power as well as the Crystal Keeper badge, which is required for the Megalomaniac Accolade. So if you're up for it meet up in St. Martial next Saturday, April 30th, at 5pm PST/8pm EST! -
Just a reminder for everyone, now that you can get shards while exemplared Strike Force Saturdays would probably be a good way to get shards for characters that need them still.
-
I'd also be up for it, I love hunting GMs, though I could only do it on the weekends as my weekday free time is usually around midnight to 2am and I don't think that would work with anyone else.

Quote:Nice write up! Yeah, I was that one controller we had, and I have to say I felt pretty useless on the Lambda run compared to the BAF runs!Oh man, that was a HELL of a time. Lt. McCready here, and I still can't believe we pulled that off. Check out my write-up of it Here on the COH Livejournal community. It was truly EPIC, and I make it a point to not use that word unless the situation warrants it.

I just wanted to say thanks again to all those I was teamed with for this. And extra thanks to Big SOB for leading! We managed to take down Marauder right before the server went down, hopefully we won't log in to a rollback later today!
-
Ah, good idea! I already converted it on my main, I'll have to run this on one of my other 50s and check it out.
-
We had a good first run of the new strike force, though it turns out I was wrong about keeping the temp power at 50. Apparently you still have the power at 50 but it doesn't provide any of the bonuses.
Team Size: 7
Deaths: 0
Time: 39:59

(1 was missing from the group shot because he exited the mission too soon )
Now, according to our List next week we do the two Ouroboros strike forces: Mender Tesseract Strike Force(Avg. Time 29:41) and Mender Lazarus Strike Force(Avg. Time 43:22). So meet up in Ouroboros next Saturday, April 23rd at 5pm PST/8pm EST! -
Ok, so last night I got a chance to run the new strike force, so now I know what to expect. I also threw together a page for it over at Paragon Wiki for any of you that are planning on running it with me this weekend and want to read about it before hand.
As for the temp power, it's an auto skill that grants a small MaxHP, Regen, and DMG bonus. Also it's currently bugged so that it doesn't go a way at 50, it stays until you claim the notice, so if you'd rather have the temp power than the notice you can keep it for now! -
Quote:Yeah, those diabolical SG emblems are always up to no good.I knew something was off. That stupid skull icon was suppressing my chest piece.
As an added note to the new SF next week, I believe the reward grants a temp power that last till you hit 50, at which point you can claim a notice of the well. Does anyone that's done it know what the temp power is? -
With all the new shinies available this weekend we had a small team, but still a great run. And I even got to play my old fire/stone brute Volcanic Viking, who's gone unplayed for ages now.
Team Size: 4
Deaths: 2
Time: 1:57:49
Additional screenshots can be found Here!
Ok, so as I said in my previous posts, this week we're going to circumvent the list and do the Mortimer Kal Strike Force since it's new. That link has very little info so far, and I haven't run it yet so I don't know what to expect, so we'll get to figure it out as we go next week! Meet up in Sharkhead next Saturday, April 16th at 5pm PST/8pm EST. -
I finished Shu and now I'm halfway through Wei. Also been goofing around in conquest mode a lot.
Now, a SFS update: With i20 launching today do you guys wanna do the new SF on saturday or wait till the following saturday like I said in my last update? I'd be willing to learn it as we go if you are, I just want to know ahead of time so I can start searching for that tip to unlock it. If no one posts I'll just stick with the plan to run Renault next weekend. -
Yeah, I just got the new dynasty warriors game so I haven't run nearly as many renault SFs this weekend as I originally was planning.
-
Now, it's likely that issue 20 will be released soon, and with it a new strike force, level range 20-40 I believe. My tentative plan for now is to run it the saturday after next (so on the 16th) that way I have plenty of time to find the tip mission that unlocks it.

This week we ran the first two Respec Trials, and got each done in under 30 minutes! The first one had a brief delay in the start due to unseasonable zombies in nerva. On the second one we had a team member D/C on the second mission, never to return.
Trial 1:
Team Size: 5
Time: 24:16
Deaths: 0
Trial 2:
Team Size: 6 (5 at the end)
Time: 29:39
Deaths: ? (I forgot to turn on the death count at the beginning, so it says 0 but I know I died at least once)
And click Here to see the album with a few additional screenshots from both trials.
Now, according to our List next week is the Operative Renault Strike Force. It's level 25+ and awards the Leviathan Badge as well as a random Coralax temp power (Coral Amulet, Coral Hammer, or Coral Shards). The average Strike Force Saturday time for this one is 1:20:53, though I'm betting we can do it in about an hour without rushing much. So if you're in the mood to beat up Longbow and fish people meet up in Sharkhead next Saturday, April 9th at 5pm PST/8pm EST! -
Had another successful run last night/this morning. I'll probably do one tonight and one monday night at this same time.
-
Yay, got enough to run it this time! Thanks to those who showed up, and I'll see ya tomorrow if you wanna do it again.
