I don't think Morality missions are solo only...the ones outside of Praet sure aren't. Unless the mission I ran last night was not WAI, because it was my mission and I hate two friends along without ill effect.
Even so, yeah. That sounds broken. And I really wish trial players could reply to tells, if not send them directly. -
-
Yeah, their also amongst those in need of a quite heavy redo, IMO. Low textures, low detail faces...even the new Super Stunners look fairly meh.
-
Yeah, I think backpacks is a #1 priority for putting the thumbscrews on the tech guys and making it work. Would add so many options.
And the large PPD gloves. And reason we didn't get them? Any please, don't say clipping. I'll scream >< -
Use the RWZ one. No risk at all

Must have been something Alpha said. (Enjoy your breakfast and milk)

Quote:The illegitimate offspring of blasters and stone tankers. Ych.
And sappers already got nerfed into only one per spawn. There's bigger problems than sappers.I can find no greater written truth than this.Quote:Frankly, the most offensive thing I find about Titans is that rocket-barrage attack of theirs. The particle effects on that are so obnoxious and heavy-handed that it makes it impossible to see what else is happening, or even where the rockets are coming from. I'm not saying they hit softly, but the sheer volume of smoke put out can be incredibly annoying.
I was sad that I couldn't choose to go 'Screw morality, gimme!!' when an Arbiter ordered me to pilot one in a Rogue Morality mission....

Sounds good to me. The Fifth have and always will be cooler than the Council (as cool as evil can be. It's like Darth Vader, only with 100% less 'Nooooooo!' and more penchant for outrageous Pythonesue German accents
)
Also, seeing more NPC Nictus in-game rather than the copy-paste Nova/Dwarf/Galaxy/Void combo that comes up would be awesome. -
Quote:Human David Logic: FlawedSeriously, there's no bigger proponent of going back and fixing stuff than me (ask anyone in the office)
, but if ALL we did was revamp existing content, it wouldn't contribute much to the game. Even with a fresh coat of paint, you'd still be playing the same basic story in the same kind of environment, right?
So by far, the better return on investment is to focus on giving you guys NEW stories to experience, new zones to explore, and new enemies to fight. For my money, that's 1000x more fun. But obviously, revamps and revisits (like Faultline, Ultramode, new tails, alternate animation options, Girlfriend From Hell, hospital gurneys in hazard zones, etc.) will continue to happen alongside the new stuff.
Revamp contribution: Considerable
Ultra-mode: Fresh Coat of paint
Revamped NPCs: Repaired chassis
Enabling: Human speech function
Thing is, the old NPCs don't look any better than they did six years ago. Ultra mode didn't change all that much for the character models, just the environement.
So, groups that looked ugly before Ultra mode (Lost, Outcasts, Trolls, Council/5th etc) still look the same. And they will continue to look six years old and pixelated until such time as a revamp.
It's like the old Phalanx TFs. I know that's not your perview and all
but the concept is the same. 'Why revamp when you can make new shinies?' I'll tell ya why; because old busted isn't as fun as new hawtness. And old busted stays old busted until it gets made new hawtness. So, in essence, re-vamping stuff IS adding something new. It's taking away something old and rusty and replacing it with a shiny new part. If that part is PC friendly, so much more the better.
Hope that makes sense. It's godawful 9:30 here, and the damn flat had no damn milk so I've had no damn breakfast....
Hungry Alpha is hungry!! -
Quote:Most Villain groups only use a few variants of models though, don't they? With all the time in the world, that would be awesome, but redo-ing all the costume work for whole villain groups isn't feasible. That said, I imagine we would add some shader improvements to anything we do touch.
I mean, the Hellions have about 3-4 minion models, then the exact duplicate 2 models for both LTs and Bosses.
Moving up a bit, Council/5th all use the exact same boots, gloves and chest pieces. The helmets/hats are the only thing that changes any, really. Mekmen could use a textural overhaul across the board, really.
Can I ask, why is it that you guys seem to really hate going back and re-doing stuff? Whats with the whole insistence on 'new shinies' all the time, wether its zones, content or NPCs? Do the higher ups and Marketting Empire enemy group have a role in it all? -
Quote:I guess that means that the entire Soldier and Widow AT should simply cease to exist, then.Couple of considerations to keep in mind as you make your suggestions: we'd probably choose not to make a player version of an NPC costume part if it a) doesn't fit on the existing character rigs/work well with other parts, or if it's b) very, very signature and intimately tied to the group or character's look (like Maelstrom's 'heart' for example, which really should remain unique), or c), if it creates an opportunity for confusion and/or griefing (i.e. if by using the costume part, you could look EXACTLY like an enemy and therefore confuse other players).
Skull and Carnival masks are in the gray area for me, but most other parts are fair game for discussion.
Come on, David, you know this makes no sense. The same arguement makes the inclusion of the PPD, Resistance and Clockwork pieces completely contradictory. This doesn't hold any water for a number of reasons;
1) Colours. Players can colour their parts different to NPCs, so there will always be some slight variation.
2) Powers. Even SoAs and Widows have different powers that mark them out from standarad NPCs.
3) Player names. Just a tad hard to, y'know, mis the giant floating letters above peoples heads? Even then, if they hav them turned off, a quick mouse over and the fact they don't show up when tabbed through should be indicator enough.
And what Equation said, really. Some of the older groups. Look. Ugly. Pixelated, gnarl edged kinda ugly.
A makeover and PC workable bits? Thats some much needed polish that the core of the game could do with. -
Quote:Veats are still badass solo.Heh. I farmed DJ Zero mission set for x8 on my VEATs to get a badge.
Warshades seem not to be. This may change with two more levels when Eclipse is fully slotted, either that or when I IO him....or maybe Human form is the way to go?
Either way, this was set to solo running. And I got mauled. Not cool. -
Yup. It all seems to be wonderously broke again.

Something wicked this way comes...

Rogue Isles, beneath St Martial
The room was dark, mostly due to the abscence of any real form of light. Various monitors gave a residual, eeries blue or green glow, test tubes and complicated, pressure sealed apparatus added many strange hues to the ambient glow...
And there were the eyes, eyes that burned and froze like the agony of a dying star even as they scanned the page in front of it.
"And this information is accurate?"
The man stood in front of the large desk and workstation setup nodded quickly. That damn voice again...like tombstones and gravebells, only without the latters cheer and charm.
"Yessir. Thats every known detail 'bout her, stuff that folks have dredged up."
"A 'Mad scientist', as you humans say?"
"Yessir."
'You humans'. That was another unsettling thing, right there.
"Intruiging. Very well...she may prove to be of some use."
The figure stood, and the informant felt compelled to take a step back. Eight foot of black and indigo armour, hood and cape should not move like that. It should look....ponderous, awkward. Real. Not almost gliding like some sort of monstrous shadow.
The eyes fell on him.
"Your usefulness would have been rewarded again...were it not for your failure."
"F-failure? Whatcha mean f-"
"You have been negotiating with Arachnos, trying to broker safety and money in exchange for my location following the last...disagreeement I had with them. You have broken our contract, Lucian. And thus you have failed me."
The man tried to speak, tried to run, tried to breath. Anything, except stare into those eyes, eyes like doorways into the black, crushing abyss itself, surrounded by the purple glow of a brooding galaxy.
The figure moved with oiled grace, crossing the space in an instant. Lucian looked down, shock registering on his face as he saw one massive, gauntleted arm was passing clean through his chest. And yet, apart from a slightly chilly sensation, there was no pain, no ill effect at all, in fact-
The arm solidified. There was a horrific sound, the sound made by organic matter being displaced instantaneously by a more solid mass. Fingers arched, the towering shadow withdrew the arm with terrifying speed. Lucian's face drained of all colour, the only sound a choked little croak as what felt like his entire front exploded after the arm. The last thing he saw was what looked like a small, pale blue flame, balanced delicately on the shadows blood-coated fingers. And then the darkness rushed up, drawing him down and consuming him utterly.
The Nightwalker stood for a moment, calmly regarding the collapsed corpse, before he turned his gaze to the pale life essence caught on his fingertips.
"Interesting. That is what you are, Miss Tomb."
The flame twirled helplessly, before it was siphoned sharply into the abyssal depths of the black hood.
"Very Interesting..." -
Quote:Give, give, GIVE!!I was very disappointed when I took the mini-nuke attack in Munitions Mastery to find that I was NOT firing a Council-style bazooka but instead had access to the various gun models, providing I had unlocked them.
I am assured by a friend that the trumpet Nemesis rifle looks awesome when using the attack, but I wants an oversized bazooka please. Especially as the power description mentions that the weapon is so hefty that the attack can be interrupted.
I will also jump on the 'it's probably a clipping issue' wagon. No reason why new enemies can't be designed to have silly, gigantic weapons though
I was majorly ticked off when I just fired the thing from a normal rifle. It looks alright on my AR/Ice blaster, because the Redding rifle looks like it could double-time as a mini rail-gun, but even so
And 'clipping' is so much utter, utter [WAHOO!] when there are hundreds of costume bits in game that clip like a mutha-[WHOOPS!] already. Terribad excuse is terribad! -
Quote:The Devil ain't just in the details, he knows them. Very well, by the looks of itShould SR be altered? Yes, it should.
Same power order as brutes? Yea, I think that would help.
Given the same taunt aura as brute evasion? I want it for MY SR scrapper, but the answer is no. Brutes get higher HP than scrappers. Their inherent depends on being attacked. There's a lot of people that don't want their SR scrappers to suddenly be taking on a lot more aggro. I've been bugging Castle about it since it was added to brute evasion. It ain't happenin for scrappers even IF anything else gets changed.
SR proliferation to tanks? Yes, it should happen. Straight port from brute SR. Problems with it be damned.

I'd rather see something happen to redcaps.
Seriously. Running into those abhorrent little devils in a redside tip mission on my Nictus was painful. I popped a metric tonne of oranges and changed to Dwarf form.
A few seconds later I was dead. This was after using all my greens, too.
Those little shites are evil... -
Wish the Black Choppers in Mercy had two options;
-Mercy (Fort Darwin)
-Mercy (Fort Cerberus)
That way, it would cut out the horrible travel from North to South that is oh too prevelant at low levels. Especially because the hospital is all the way back at the start.
Other than that? Looks good. -

Quote:Mutant/Psychic, depending if you ask Sister Psyche =P But hey, good example. And yes.So one powerset doesn't completely limit a character to a single origin?
Makes sense.
While many Bots MMs are Tech, this game's original Bots MM was a Mutant, wasn't he? http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Clockwork_King -
I'm a walking injury!
I happen to other people!!
Last night was fun
Colonel Max Von Schaden showed up, before I eventually went and got Leon a temp persona so I could have him redside. I need to skip him through all the way to Rogue, darn it.
-
Because it doesn't suck anymore? While the other Phalanx TFs still do?
-
Still wish we could wear Trenchcaots over jackets...and have belts over jackets, for a proper military look
