Have you got the "Disable effects when close" option turned on in the game? If so, it will make all the effects vanish from your character when playing a demo back.

How's it goin, folks?

My voice actress sucks. She keeps on laughing at her lines, and even started singing a Hannah Montana song when I asked her to do an evil maniacal laughter!

(looks at the raining donuts) Sounds like it would fit pretty well to me. -
If you crash while a demo is recording, the demo is gone. The game doesn't save any of the file until you zone or stop recording.

Oh, and I'm at 4:19 now. So close...

You need that talk show software that yanks out pauses and whatnot in the dialog to make it go faster. -
"COM Surrogate has stopped working" error? Click through all the errors then switch to detailed mode. It seems to happen when it tries to make icons for the AVI files. I searched all night some months ago but was never able to find a fix for it.

WeGame's records the sounds just fine - except they tend to be one second off in timing, at least for me. Or you could hunt them down in the....

Very good idea Leandro!
Hmmm.... might be interesting to have some of the aura effects but no other costume parts, too. A huge null person with flies aura.... -
Awww, no sneaking in the old Asheron's Call "atoyot" emote?
-
!!! That's... kinda cool, but very odd. Did the vault door get blown up before this and did it's physics look right?

Love that Multi-media show room! (Though I liked the kids starting out the Hammers!) Good article on perma-doms, too. Though I've got no idea what Hostile has against super hair. It'd be neat! And I bet it will happen, too, I've already heard talk of BAB working on custom bows!

Many have narrowed their reading areas and only follow their server forums, Community Digest, and Dev Digest.

Then many need to add Anouncements to that - there's pretty important stuff in there. Plus, it's rarely used so it's not like it takes long. The digests are... iffy sometimes. -
WeGame.Com compression isn't as bad. Plus you can keep a copy for yourself that's quite good.

Flatly blowing everything completely out of proportion in order to continue to spew baseless garbarge.

Not sure if they can do much about that. That puts them in the position of deciding what is a "worthy" argument. That's our job. (Not that I think it's actually worth it in this particular case.)
Regarding profanity....
Very simple, very easy. Use other words. Or just censor it yourself. I like to use curly brackets to distinguish from the {censored} filter pulling a {censored} hack job on my {censored} post. -
Hmmmm.... that's quite possible, Arcanaville, especially in light of what was just said regarding /signed. Maybe the point of the rule is to outlaw threads that aren't really looking to change the game but are actually trolls. Well, I'll try using your way next time I find something I think is seriously too strong.
P.S. Piggs: rats, foiled again!! -
I just checked a demo I made when CoV opened - no fade-out. So it's nothing new in the recordings.
I could swear they used to fade out, though, not just vanish. OMG! Stealth nerf!! -
Errr, but isn't that like saying we should cancel Thanksgiving because it makes it hard for the business travellers to use the airplanes?

No necro-posting. Necro-posting is responding to an old discussion thread and is just a form of 'bumping.' One can bring up an old topic by starting a new thread and linking to the old discussion.
[/ QUOTE ]
Errr, why? If somebody has something new to add, why start another topic instead of just posting in the existing topic? Posting in the existing topic makes it easier for people to see what has been said before. Come to think of it, that's particularly true in the Guides forum. If something in the game changes a few months after the guide is posted that warrents a small change to the guide, wouldn't it be better to just tack on a new post to the thread instead of doing the whole guide over again?
Now, of course, if somebody is just dredging a thread up to hash out the same ideas all over again, then I wish they wouldn't add to the thread OR start another thread. -
Hmmm, apologies if this is mentioned somewhere back in the past 18 pages but... the two games have different minimum requirements. Are those requirements going to be merged as well?

I believe its not unreasonable to suggest that since calls for nerfs are much more likely to spark unproductive controversy on the forums, calls for power reductions should be held to a higher standard than calls for buffs.

I don't think you'll be held responsible for how other people reply to your post....
[/ QUOTE ]
Aren't those statements a bit contradictory? If you say I need to be held to higher standards if my post is suggesting something a lot of people won't like, then I've got to change my bahavoir according to how other people will reply to my post.
But then, a 'higher standard' is not the rule. The rule is NO posting such things. And the reason for the rule is that some people can't respond to such posts in a respectable way, even if the post itself is well thought-out. I don't like being censored because somebody else has anger management problems.
P.S. And no mention of my PIGG file note? So we are clear for discussion on the internal structure of those things? That will sure make the 'silencing in-game sounds' guide a lot more sane. -

I can see the why's of this for sure, but what about tech support? We don't need to see what tech support has been doing 99% of the time but we also have, oh, a couple thousand incidents on the tech forums so we do see these from time to time. I think the rule can still work, but please tell the tech support folks to give permission to ticket holders often and, preferably, before they even ask for permission.
[ QUOTE ]
As a courtesy to others before beginning a new thread, please look to see if an active thread on that topic has already been established. If so, place your comments there instead.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, the tech forums are a bit of an exception. A lot of people really don't understand significant differences and thing that a crash is a crash and must be caused by the same issue, even if one crash happens before the login screen appears and another crash only happens after hours of play. In fact, even if they DO know the significant differences, a set of symptoms can have multiple causes. We like to have folks who are having crashing or disconnect issues to make their own thread each time because, in all likelyhood, they are going to need personal attention.

"NERF X!" threads are removed for much the same reason as "I'm leaving" threads. They can turn into threads with little or no constructive information.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't like this rule at all. Some things ARE overpowered and need a few whacks from ye'olde nerf bat. How are we supposed to point those out? "All powers of players and NPCs need to be cranked up heavily in order to match the Shivan temp power - or do something I can't talk about that would be effectively the same but much more simple."
The fact that these kinds of posts CAN turn into nasty threads really just isn't fair. Can I not post suggestions unless I'm sure all the folks responding will be responsible??
[ QUOTE ]
Using the forums or PMs for encouraging, promoting, endorsing, or inciting any kind of legal action against anyone is strictly prohibited. Such content will be removed, and the author's posting privileges may be permanently suspended as a result.

Ouch. We'll have to watch our wording if AMD/nVidia's price fixing lawsuit goes against them. Please have mercy on us.

No mention of the gag order on talking about the game's PIGG files! Is that just an oversite or can we finally talk about such things? Please please be the latter! -
They do that when they get deleted - so the DEL command.
-
I seriously doubt the guest accounts are a very significant percentage. If you were just trying the game out for the first time, would you select the server with the RED dots??
-
That should do it! Make sure you read the guide in the Tech forums (?) for ATI settings. Basically, if you turn on auto-aliasing, you'll need to turn off a few other fancy features.
-
Here too, Ashcraft. Loving it quite a bit, actually. It's not so much having a job that's a good thing, it's having the money from a job.
Making money doing videos.... hmmm.... Folks get commissions doing drawings and artwork. I wonder if it could be done for video? Get yourself several dozen demos with some dramatic camera angles, then, for a fee, drop somebody's character(s) in the demo and make some movies. I'm not sure what NCSoft would think of that. You'll likely have to give them a cut. -
Let's see here... entRagdoll.... A small number, two big numbers, then a huge number.
The small number seems to be 11 almost all the time. Every once in awhile it comes up 0 and the huge number is missing. Maybe that means cancel ragdoll effect because something else started to happen? The 0 I just found happened when an NPC was ragdolling then decided to do the Get_up animation.
The two numbers after that seem to start in the 700,000's and move up. The second number is smaller than the first. EntRagdoll commands that happen at the same time have the same two numbers. Seems like a timing thing but I can't match them up with any of the normal timing numbers.
The big number is actually 33 hex numbers by the look of it. 2 lower legs, 2 upper legs, lower torso, upper torso, head, 2 lower arms, 2 upper arms = 11 parts. I guess that's what the 11 is in the first number. So 3 per part. Pitch, yaw, and roll relative to the joint I assume. Interesting, they don't seem to change at all for a given knockback. Maybe they change when the body runs into something?
But anyway....
Yeah, I've seen the ragdolls twitch at times, too. I wonder if I could detect them by going backwards from the delete and erasing all the EntRagdoll commands until the last MOV the NPC did? Do enemies ever do their final death move while still in knockback?
