    Elite Igniter

Have I gone mad/blind? Is there an 'elite igniter' - or is Scorpion's Surprise basically its replacement?
  2. Great fun, agreed.

"I earned 1 Pangean, 1 Essence of Furies and 1 purple recipe"

    ME TOO )

Lots off dollar! Yay for now having another piece of the Numina set happily installed!

And who can forget - another shiny badge for my collection ) Thanks!
  3. *Coughs* There is no alt. There is only Winter Flare. It's been that way for years....
  4. There won't *be* a second run if it takes all night, lol.

I'm stocking up on my temp powers today. Never leave home without'em! lol. Shivans, War Wolves, Vanguard Mech. My mini-army )

"Morning farmer Flare! I'm just popping down the shops in my submarine, can I get you anything?"

    Quality
  7. My pro-rad statment was my way of celebrating the arrival of you, Defcon )

As for needing/not needing a rad - I never said we *had* to have one to complete the TF. I just like having one on the team )
  8. Wow. Very nice

Gotta say, I didn't think this thread would turn into such a heated debate.

You make good points, LostNinja For those that were not around when the game was released, it does seem 'fair' to allow them to 'earn' them another way - monetary being a good option. Veteran rewards are another way, I suppose, but I don't think the two concepts gel.

"Are you planning some sort of PvP farm?"

Yep. I'm going to have a sheep and a cow, and breed horses.
  10. I'm in, Nine Claws. It'll be good to team on a TF again. I tried to run this by joining a PUG last weekend. We did really well, but couldn't take down the final AV. I'll make sure I'm armed with Shivans and a Vanguard Mech, so count me in old buddy.

    PVP from scratch

Aha! So heroes CAN get rep in Warburg for taking out other heroes?

I shall have to test that one out! Thanks greek!!!
  12. Agreed. Working towards my 10k badge, I make a tonne of component salvage. I leave a lot in base storage for my SG to craft into temp powers, but I sell the excess 100's to make back some of the money I've used up. Well, persistance will pay off!
  13. Are we *sure* that processing salvage counts?

Mind you... it does take AGES just to do 1k...

    PvP Night 2008.

When's the next one? I'd like to get involved.

    PVP from scratch

Ok, so I've played/survived in PVP, and I've met and discussed it with those that live by it. However - I'm *still* not clear on some things. Mainly, badge-things.

    Questions:

    1) Heroes can fight heroes in Warburg. Do the kills in Warburg against heroes count towards:
    a) The Super Group PVP badge?
    b) Personal PVP badges (i.e. do you get rep for them?)?

    2) The SG PVP badge is for PVP 'kills'. Does this mean that killing the same villain / character before the ten minute 'rep break' has passed still counts towards it? i.e. Could you simply just spam-kill a villain and crank up the SG badge? Or is the SG badge based on kills the same way in which rep is earned?

    3) Multiple kills in teams - say you have a three-man team consisting of all SG members from the same SG. Does killing a villain count as three steps towards the SG PVP badge, or one?

I think that's it for now.
  16. Tbh, I agree with the payment idea.

Before I posted this, I was looking for ways in which to acquire the other three pre-order discs, before I realised you couldn't 'stack' them. I would've paid for them (ebay, perhaps) just to get the helmets. Why? I'm a nutter when it comes to 'completeness', and I have no other vices ;o)

Well, some. But none that should be mentioned here P
  17. That's not a bad idea. I agree with Crimson. It worked with the extras from the good vs. evil pack (and the wedding stuff).

Part of me thought they would just be made available to all when the VEATs were released. I think you'd have to bundle them together with some other stuff (or make'em cheap, lol) as there's not much there to buy. Unless you released all four together now that the VEATs are available to allow you the (payable) option of making your toon a more realistic look. Hmmm...yeah, it's a good add-on to sell with I12's release, now that I think of it.

Granted, villainous heroes may not be what's wanted, but some RP'ers out there may want to build an 'arachnos disguise' for missions, or maybe running around RV? Who knows? I know that I tend to use my 5th cossie slot for 'themed' costumes. Xmas, Halloween, Rome, etc.
  18. (I noticed the lights last night - very nice! If only the could fix the glowing/humming/lit-up items in bases!)

I suppose my point was this - costume pieces would be nice for everyone - and obviously the other three helmets were never available.

In my OP, I pointed out that I liked having a limited edition cape, and so what I didn't make clear (and I apologise) was that it's just a bit of a shame that there's no way of getting the other pre-order helmets. If someone today went out and bought the DVD edition and registered it, they'd get the cape. Simple. So it's accessible. However, you can only have *one* of the four pre-order helments, because that's how they designed it. That was my question - sorry if it wasn't clear - are the helmets going to become VET rewards, since they were never all accessible to people (unlike the cape, which is, in a way).
  19. Given the new costume pieces that come with I12, and of course the Roman set reward for completing the new TF, I wanted to ask a quick question about collectable costume pieces - specifically, pre-order Arachnos helmets from the CoV discs.

In short - you could get a pre-order disc from stores for CoV, which gave you a load of 'stuff', the ability to start on CoV before the rest of the world, and depending on the disc that you had, an Arachnos helment. There were four types, and apparently, they were not 'stackable' - so you couldn't collect all four discs and get all four helmets.

Since pre-order 'run' powers have become veteran rewards, wings can be invented (albeit different ones from the vets - yet still not as 'rare' as they were once thought to be), and the age-old merge of CoH and CoV wardrobes happened - I'm curious - are these special helmets going to become accessible to all, over time? A vet reward? Something to just be 'included', since the VEATs are now accessible (or am I too late and it's already happened?)

Also - how 'rare' are the 'rare' costume pieces? I have the limited edition DVD cape - is that likely to appear in the normal wardrobe soon, do you think? Part of me is quite proud to have a costume piece that you don't see on everyone. Gives your character a feeling of 'identity'.

    Base Defences

So - you've got Scorpion's Surprise, the Improved Igniter, the Rikti Plasma Turret and of course three Mk's of Benedict Turret - but which weapons are best?

The web is covered in prices and 'how to earn' - but no content on the effectiveness of these defences. Anyway...anyone?
  21. I have a group of 8 that are ready to run the STF on Monday 19th from 8pm. However, it relies on one person (our resident healer) hitting level 45. Due to technical difficulties, he has no managed to got onto the game today, so I am putting out a request for a 'reserve' healer for tomorrow evening, if somebody is free?
