    We got over you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apparently not. You're what, the third, fourth person who's all outraged over my DARING to mention Hitler? What's more: you continue.

I'm the only one who even mentioned Hitler. It's still about me, mate.

It's ok to bury your head in your hands and weep. No one should have that taken from them.

I know. Faith in an intelligent humanity is a terrible thing to lose.

Touchy, touchy... Your reply makes it clear that your problem is not intent, it's simple ignorance of the English language. Your use of the word "censor" makes no sense. Nor does "zealot".

    [/ QUOTE ]

Censor is the act of silencing or removing content otherwise deemed inappropriate. A zealot is a person extremely motivated to see a cause through to its end. I fail to see how these words are inappropriate.

    [ QUOTE ]
But you then weaseled out of that by saying you weren't making a comparison at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay, if we're to get technical, I compared two aspects of three people, all of which they share or are purported to share: influence on their chosen profession, and amorality/"plague to end all plagues". For Jack, the profession happens to be game design. For Hitler and Stalin, it's politics. The point continues to stand. The only comparison here is the perception of amorality on extremely different scales, and the perception of influence.

The comparisons are on an unimaginably different scale, and therefore cannot be construed as a true comparison. They are also not full comparisons, which is the perception I wished to forestall. Unfortunately, due to the inane drivel expressed by you and others, I appear to have failed.

    [ QUOTE ]
Seems better all around to just not make the comparison in the first place, but you did provide a few minutes of entertainment, poking fun of your grammar skills.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. The point continues to stand. And Jesus, if LivingHellfire is defending me, I know I'm right. I'll say this again: go censor some other poor shmuck. I assure you, I'd match my grammar against yours any day.

PS: I decided to have a looksie at dictionary.com. Here's what they have to say on 'censor'.

    1. an official who examines books, plays, news reports, motion pictures, radio and television programs, letters, cablegrams, etc., for the purpose of suppressing parts deemed objectionable on moral, political, military, or other grounds.

    2. any person who supervises the manners or morality of others.

Note #2. By judging my post as 'tacky' and 'whateverthehellelseyoucalledit', you supervised manners or morality--namely the content of my post. If it weren't for people such as yourself, such 'comparisons' could be made without a tiring debate, and taken in the spirit intended.

In elections with an under-50% voter turnout rate and where the crushing majority of voters - in many elections, over 90% of the people who do vote - will vote based on party rather than actual appraisals of competence, it is very easy to get elected without being particularly competent.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That completely ignores the process of selection for party nomination. You can't just vote all Republican, for example, when everyone on the ballot is a Republican.

So, all the Republicans nominate one candidate or another, the democrats nominate another candidate, the 90% of the voting population gets split dead even, and the 10% of us Independent-minded folk make the real decision. Exactly as it should be.

It would seem that not everyone agrees he is the plague to end all plagues.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hitler and Stalin were easily among the top 20 most influential men in history, but they were still the plague to end all plagues. Not that I'm comparing Jack to murderers of millions upon millions of innocent people, but the point still stands

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow..........over a video game!.........Some of you people seriously need to get out more often and find yourselves a life. To compare a developer of a video game to those people..........wow.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And some of you need to drop the ellipses and go learn basic English comprehension, because frankly, you suck at it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Shatneresque pauses notwithstanding, he's right. You compared the designer of a video game to two mass murderers and the immediately said "Not that I'm comparing them". You *did* compare them. You didn't say they were equivalent, but you did compare them.

    Tacky and tasteless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh go censor someone else, you politically correct zealot. I liked Jack Emmert probably more than most people. He created a great and enduring game. And yes, when I say I'm not comparing him to Hitler or Stalin, it means I'm not comparing them. I used two easily-identified examples of unquestionably influential men in history who weren't just controversial but were unquestionably evil. The point was to contest the assertion that Jack could not be the plague-to-end-all-plagues while still being influential. It was fallacious. Just like your assertion that my post was 'tacky and tasteless'.

Looking at the data that I could find more closely, it looks like all the Mitos have 100 resistence to repel. Which says to me that if we can get 11 Force Fielders together, they can overwhelm the repel resistence of the Mitos....

Any thoughts on this, or am I reading this data wrong, as I am prone to doing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Like Knockback, Repel does not stack to overcome protection. Get your eleven Force Fielders together. If for nothing else, I'm sure it'll be a nice test of everyone's graphics cards.
  11. Of course they're immune to Repel. You don't think someone's tried this yet?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
While probably true, I can find no evidence of this.

All Troll NPC chat contains extremely poor articulation and minimal use of words more advanced than a third grader's vocabulary. This includes Julius to a high degree as well.

Street thugs and gangsters, in my experience, don't say "you make up mind" "I no like" etc. Unless they're foreigners with minimal grasp of English.

You don't think being a hallucinogen and highly addictive are negative effects?

Also, it's obvious that Dyne suppresses female hormones/increases male hormones, as evidenced by the fact that you never find any apparently female Trolls

Don't highly advanced types of Trolls lose the ability to mate?
  14. Related to the series of sex-themed /afks in this thread, I once had someone go afk on me with the following quote. It's been a few years, and I didn't keep chat logs back then, but this should be fairly accurate:

"Guys, I gotta go afk for like ten or fifteen minutes. My girl's in the shower and she needs me. "
  15. When was the last time you posted something that wasn't a veiled mockery?

    Just sayin'.

  17. [ QUOTE ]
So what's the whole point of this thread? I started reading it, but then comparisons to /SR were made, and now I'm lost. What is being argued here?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Banes suck, but only if you don't take a bajillion power pools to beef your defences up and if you pretend your melee powers either don't exist or aren't your primary function. That's what's being argued. And it's essentially correct. As long as you play Banes like Crabs, and as long as you're willing to sacrifice much of your endurance for the use of pool powers, you're pretty good to go.
  18. Yeah they do, 100% of the time for full damage. Try my guide on for size, it's in my sig.

Is this what people do now, complain on free stuff? I think someone hasn't worn the shoes of an Analyst or a Developer.

I think someone hasn't had to produce quality work in order to keep a job. If you were expecting a multi-million dollar major game release and got Tetris, would you be disappointed too?

... Wow, I thought there was more to this issue than the general outline. Aside from any PvP/MA/badge changes, it really seems to be just the TF... and honestly, Yet Another piece of new 45-50 content doesn't compel me to level new characters.

I'm sure the TF and SF are both very neat and enjoyable, but one TF and one SF do not an Issue make.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nothing they ever do will please you. We get it. It's old and played out, dude.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which is amusing, because prior to Issue 12, I was voicing all kinds of happiness...

What would've pleased me is a new zone and some contacts to go along with this TF and SF. But no. It's just the TF/SF. And frankly, if an hour and a half's worth of content is all they can produce after months of development, then you can't possibly be upset with me for voicing my unhappiness.

Sure as you're an elitist hack who looks down on negative sentiment, these two TFs will get old very quickly. Precedent: LGTF, ITF, etc.
