Eh? Mono? That's, like, a kissing disease isn't it??
-
Hostile, I think you need to post some screenshots of huge Widows to demonstrate your point.
-
Now if only Pirate King would pop out of nowhere....
-
Oh that's nice! Lighthouse could use a new com plant on his desk. I hope GT forwards it along.

The internet is a device by which you can become annoyed at individuals you otherwise never would have met. (Can't remember who said that, but it's an ooooold quote.)
Actually, I've been hanging around GameTrailers since before they even took comments. It's a GREAT place to view trailers! Good game reviews, too. The only thing that's really ticking me off about them now are the gold farmer advertisements that pop up in the little "sponsered links" sometimes. All the little kiddies scrawling dirty words on the internet wall don't bother me but those ads sure do. -
Hehe, maybe, though those will still be a lot harder to use than a quick MOV command.
Oh! You're using Dr. Leo as your sample! But that's how *I* was going to torture him! -

Ya know, funny thing about the internet - you can't tell gender or ethnicity of somebody else. You can sometimes get a handle on what time zone they live in but no clue how far north or south. Age, however.... -

*chuckle* Now I got this image of a guy standing next to Positron, censoring everything he says with an air horn that he should not say like the Family Guy episode where the FCC sensors everday life.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please don't give him any ideas! We'd all hate to miss out on all of the juicy details Castle might spill at this year's event!

Ross should show up dressed like that government PR guy in Deathrace 2000 and stand behind each speaker. -

I'm thinking that once this contest is over, it's the last time I have anything to do with GT and its users.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, you better slip over to the Retrospectives page to see if there's anything you want to watch.
Oh, and don't miss Monty Oum's stuff. He's a one-man Pixar! -
Holy cow, look at the total number of videos that got posted for this contest!!! Forty two of them! I didn't think there would be more than a dozen!
I think somebody over at NCSoft deserves a badge.
Edit: BTW, the latest Star Wars retrospective will be interesting to a lot of MMO gamers, too. -
d) We're much better looking, and thus you desire to impress us. It's only natural.
-
Probably just something odd on my setup, then. Thanks!
-
Oh! Before I forget yet again....
Was anybody noticing anything weird about the "blullup" sound team chat makes? Mine seemed to get louder and softer. (We were on the test server, after all. Might be something odd with the upcoming patch.) -
Well so much for my angular velocity idea! Nice job folks!

Round.....planet? whaa?
[/ QUOTE ]
If the planet wasn't round, the sun would come up and go down at the same time everywhere. Thus, no need for timezones. But noooooooooo, we had to get a round planet. <grumble grumble ;>
DR? Hit only one? Huh? Tank's taunt is an AoE. I think gauntlet is, too. -
Great guns 8Baller, I wouldn't do that up here in Kansas City!
Hmmm, the car has an XBox and a PS3 but does it have air conditioning? -
Stupid round planet. We wouldn't have these problems if Earth was flat!
-
Place Rikti_dropship? What do you mean by 'place'? Hehe, it sure is cute! Makes me think that Lego Rikti may be coming out soon.
-
Yep, that's pretty much what I came up with, Leandro. Neck, 2 shoulders, 2 elbows, 2 knees, 2 leg/hip, torso/hip, and mid torso joints. (I'm looking at screenshots and I can't tell for sure if there are one or two joints for the back.) But wouldn't it have to be joints instead of bones? If it were bones, it would be possible to put numbers in for bone orientation that would make it so they didn't connect to the other bones, which would be quite a sight. (Oooo, I'll definitely be using the Dr. Leo model to test that possibility out! )
Units are unknown. I'm looking at a number now that is 2BF and I think I have seen them go over 300. That means that, in decimal, the numbers are ranging from 0 to somewhere around 780. Wha? What measurement of angles goes up that high?? It makes me wonder if these are Pitch/Yaw/Roll numbers or if they are something else.
Oh wait! Maybe they aren't angles, maybe they are angular velocity? Radians per millisecond or something like that. Then you can get a smooth motion instead of the ragdoll popping from one position to another.
The 2nd and 3rd numbers are pretty mysterious. The 2nd is always bigger than the 3rd and both numbers always increase. Also, if you look at some commands for the same object, the 3rd number of one command is lower than the 2nd number of the previous command.
13 EntRagdoll 11 1585088 1584214
13 EntRagdoll 11 1585849 1584970
13 EntRagdoll 11 1586540 1585676
But if these are timings, how are they used? I can see how they might want to send ragdoll commands that overlap so you still get ragdoll actions even if you get a bit of lag. Other commands happen when they show up in the demo, though, why do these need a start time? Shouldn't there be just one number for the duration?
Also, what units are these in? I'm looking at a demo right now that I started in the middle of a fight. There's an entragdoll command less than one second after it starts and the numbers are 417695 and 416609! The units would have to be nanoseconds to get numbers that big so soon!
You'll also see a few ragdolls with 0 instead of 11 for the first number. I think those are "cancel ragdoll" commands to put the model back in normal mode. -
Hehe, that's an old pet peeve of mine. Seems about half the population doesn't know the difference between EDT and EST any more. Fewer understand every year. I've just about given up trying to correct people.

As far as the City Vault thing... no idea, other than it seems like a splitting of effort and usefulness. Once the Vault is available, what will be the point of the Facebook entry?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not into Facebook either, but I'm guessing the way it works is via the friends. You check up on an old friend from High School, see that friend is adverising CoH, and decide to check the game out. Given how easy it was to set up, it only needs to pull in a couple of new customers to be worth it. So why not do it? -
Hey, if we didn't love you, we wouldn't care enough to have you shot!
-
Hmmm, you've got a point. If you are trying to show the game off then you should show the UI. It's part of the game. In fact, it's something I very much want to see when evaluating a game. (It's pretty enlightening to look at some of those new console MMO's and count all the things you don't see in the interface, for instance.)

I agree with Relentless - no one is going to watch 11 minutes of someone playing around with the character creator.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, quite a few will, I think. Plus, even if they stop after just a quarter of it, they are still going to get my intended message: we have a HUGE selection of costume options!!
The random option really doesn't do it for me. I did hit it a few times right at the end but not until after I had established that you can make good looking characters. That button doesn't really show the debth at all, IMHO. It just shows the viewer a bunch of really horrible costumes. Showing how powerful a tool is by demonstrating what a horrible mess you can make with it doesn't strike me as effective. I like my method of actually showing them just how huge our costume menus are much better, even if the viewers don't watch the whole thing.
Another way to do it would be to make two or three videos of somebody building a very nice costume. Maybe even with voice narration explaining the choices. Preferably a voice with a strong French and/or Italian accent. I do *not* have the fashion sense to pull that off so I just burried the viewers in quantity. Though, if somebody else does, there's still plenty of room on the Internet for you! -
Whichever one looks the coolest! It's just the Hess TF. I don't think I've seen anyone lose that one as long as most of the members stick around. Plus we're on the Test server so XP/badges don't matter. I think we're way into Fernando's territory, where it is better to look good than to feel good.
(Hmmm, though Tesslah will sure be wanting some endurance recovery. Her power sink is going to go away on this TF. Ouch.)
