I'd just be happy to have a "delete all" button. Nothing more required. Those who'll be interested in their ads cannot be blocked from doing so, and that is the real problem in this scenario. Everything else about the situation can be dealt with by a finite and very surmountable number of clicks on a mouse. And that's if you really feel the need to solve it; the only tangible difference between spam and no spam is a little red highlight on a highly ignorable button.
Hence the desirable addition of a "delete all" button. Those of us who are bugged by the red light can nuke all the emails with the press of a single button. -

The Placate bug
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no Placate bug in PvE, save for the wonky behaviour of AVs and the problem with Elec Melee.
[/ QUOTE ]
IIRC it's not AVs, it's EBs - and that's due to the magnitude that Placate is set to (mag 4) not being high enough to bypass inherent EB status protection.
[/ QUOTE ]
If that were the case, Placate would never work, not even for a half second. From what I've observed, it's something to do with the Purple Triangles clicking on and off. -

So... my grav/ff controller almost feels like a defender, because of all attacks he has available. I was thinking, it would be pretty fun to play with those same powers, but on a serious damage scale, so...
Gravity blast(telekinetic blast?)
Lift:Ranged, Moderate Damage (Smash), Foe Knockup
Force Bolt: Ranged, Minor DMG(Smash), Foe Knockback
Area lift: targeted aoe version of lift
Propel: Ranged, Moderate Damage (Smash), Foe Knockback
Aim
Gravity blast Ranged, Moderate Damage(Smash), Foe: Knockback (Telekinetic Blast clone)
anti Gravity well : placed aoe power that makes all the mobs inside it float & immob & -kb. (a reverse ice patch)
Crushing Wormhole: Ranged foe teleport, Foe disorient, knockback Damage(smash)
Gravitational flux: Nova clone with ff style graphics and immob component.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not a fan. Way too much lifting, not enough gravo-crushing. -

All you seem to do lately is whine about COH.

Perhaps you shouldn't read posts if you don't want to deal with a little negativity. Or should we all be happy-happy joy-joy over things we dislike?
Also: I'd rather have a high level SS or SM brute than a Fire brute. The issues with resistance are absurdly over-exaggerated. -

My /Regen is Elec/Regen. That's been the bulk of my Stalkering lately. I seldom had problems using Placate on previous Stalkers, but I thought that was because I was using defense based secondaries. I didn't realize it was limited to Elec/ in PvE. What is it specifically in Elec/ that causes the problem?
My next Stalker project will be Spines/, so I'll have the DoTs breaking Placate, but I'm back to defense so it should be ok.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because Castle's minions fixed the PvE Placate bug before it ever came to be. Problem is, they fixed it by having the AI ignore certain effects when Placated, like -tohit or stuns. I guess Castle's minions didn't foresee the inclusion of Elec Melee as the primary, because AFAIK, it's the chance for -recovery that keeps causing the issues. -
Maybe he does... But if he told you, he'd have to rip your neurons out.

Why would he be banned? He didn't break any of the rules, that I know of.
Being incomprehensible is not a rules violation.

Tell that to Totality. Besides, you're only a few false-goodbye posts, false-change-of-life posts, or repeated quotes of UniqueDragon in situations that do not call for it, that you're likely to be banned soon too.

Actually, perhaps it's more the unusual combination of the three words, rather than the words themselves.
-
Because sometimes people fight more than one target.
-
Actually, yes. Phrased the way I phrased it, it will.

You're lame. Your lameness pales in comparison even to real lamers. -
Sorry, what? If you're asking if using Placate on a Smoke Bombed foe will still get you a crit, then yes.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Really? I did not know that...
Can anyone confirm?
*Edit* That was to Devian
[/ QUOTE ]
Confirming. In addition to its obvious offensive uses, it also has defensive value. Enemy that stops attacking you long enough to use Recon = good. -
This could be viable up to +1's, if you don't mind less-than-95% acc. After that, the tohit dropoff is too steep, and invince's tohit buff isn't strong enough.

Repetition is inevitable, yes, but I believe the chances are lower. In addition, should repetition occur in a multi-thread environment, I feel it's possible to glean more worth, in that the repetitive post could be explored in a different way rather than ignored.

Lets start this off with a relatively simple question, then I'll move on to the meat of the post.
Are consolidated threads a wise addition to this forum?
I say no. I think overconsolidation is very unwise. I can understand the appeal to a Moderator to have, for instance, all discussions regarding farming taking place in the Consolidated Thread for Farming. However, it seems very apparent that these threads are not all that useful in a linear discussion.
Take for example the aforementioned farming thread. I have my post-per-page set at 40; as a result, the farming thread is divided into some 71 pages. That's over 2800 posts. To a newcomer into such a thread, this would likely present an overwhelming hurdle. Who here would enjoy reading 2800 posts? And if the newcomer decides merely to read the last one or two pages, the newcomer likely falls into the trap of repeating something said earlier, making their contribution of little worth.
It's very difficult--in my experience, anyway--to enter a linear debate when such a debate has extended to such lengths. Thus, it can be difficult to explore every facet of an issue--especially one as multi-faceted as farming--when one is required to post in the single farming thread. This leads to a highly convoluted and non-constructive environment.
Consolidated threads can serve a purpose in "Feedback" threads which a developer regularly peruses for the purpose of procuring valuable feedback in a "group consensus" manner, likely with only tangential benefit gleaned from the ensuing debate. I think the question is whether consolidated threads--again putting the farming thread on a pedestal here--are necessary for major issues receiving little attention from the red names.
In my experience, I'm most swayed by threads that typically run about 2 or 3 pages in length, covering a very specific facet of a single subject. Why is this no longer allowed? Have we reached the point of overconsolidation? Or is that the point--merely to keep the kiddies in a secluded playpen while they argue their hearts out? -

My emp defender is really good fun to play.
That's enough for me.
Eco
[/ QUOTE ]Well played Emps are awesome. i wish they were a larger percentage of Empathy players, especially in the later game where using heals alone becomes less viable, Medicine pool or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
My empath was fun. That being said, past level 12, a good empath is a buffer, not a healer.
[/ QUOTE ]
Is that to imply healing is unnecessary with buffs, that buffs take precedence, or that buffs soak up more of your time than healing?
