Your first link was from 14 months ago.
Your second link was from nearly 7 months ago.
Your third link was from almost 3 months ago (and posted as secondhand information -- how do you know HE didn't hear wrong)?

Yeah? Well this is from ten hours ago, and that is from three hours ago.
Hey! I just think I got an idea! While you're picking yourself up off the floor, how about you come over here and shine my shoes? Gregor takes left. You get right.
Good game. -

Hmm...information given as a "maybe" months and months ago versus something Statesman said at GenCon less than a week ago....
[/ QUOTE ]
Given by a third party who apparently confused vehicle riding (as in standing on top of moving vehicles) for player vehicles. Also, there is no "maybe." They were confimed one, two, three times.
[ QUOTE ]
You do realize that they might have changed their minds on this, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
You don't change your mind about something that you've confirmed three times in three differen't places.
One.

(38:08)Interviewer: I heard you mentioned cars. When are vehicles are going to become a part of the game and when or if they do, can you customize them like the batmobile, or wonder woman's invisible plane, or something like that.
Statesman: Well the first question is that it'll certainly be when they get in, because it's a staple part of comic books and there's no way that they won't find their way into city of heroes, so the issue really is when. And of course they'll be customizable there's little point in introducing something like that without allowing characters to stretch their imaginations just like they do when they create their own character. So those a are two considerations now I'm not exactly sure when but rest assured it's on the list of things I'd like to get to and certainly it's been partially designed and speced but it's a long way from implementation.

My current thinking is that Vehicles wouldn't be a Power Pool, but rather something that could be leveled up independently and customized via Influence. But nothing is imminent here - I've only sketched out ideas.

Question 2: Vehicles - Separate Expansion as in no Issue 5-10
[/ QUOTE ]
^ Yeah, that sounds like "maybe" to me! You'll excuse me if I hedge my bets on two direct quotes and a word from somebody who knew what was being said over one person who heard wrong. -
[ QUOTE ]
We won't be able to ride in/on vehicles ever, due to the way the map is, but States seemed to like the idea of being able to throw the cars around...
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong. Vehicles are coming in a future expansion and you will upgrade them through influence. -
[ QUOTE ]
What I said was an example. You took it completely out of context to the point where I stopped reading half way through your post. Again, SGs are meant to be fun, but if you're going to carry such an attitude and not help contribute then you don't need to be in one. Half of your statements are completely out of the picture and asinine. I didn't imply any of those things you mentioned above, so the laugh is 100% on you. Perhaps next time try reading and then thinking before posting? Then you wouldn't find yourself in such a predicament.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not only is he a general! He's also a lawyer! The man of a thousand talents, everybody. Tell me, how am I supposed to take anything you say seriously when you just admitted to not even reading the words of the person you're replying to?
Nobody twisted your words out of context. You said that people either have to do what their SG leader tells them or quit. I'm not going to be told how to dress by another person who has no control over my account or my character creator.
Oh, and where did I say that I didn't want to contribute to a supergroup? Last time I checked, I said that I wouldn't play with wind bags and that I don't want to give up my character design for their sake. Two can play at the hair-splitting game.
[ QUOTE ]
And Surbaban is right, or were we all too busy with our heads between our legs to use the common sense God gave us to think about using that method?
[/ QUOTE ]
Except you're stuck with the supergroup insignia in supergroup mode and you can't get rid of it. Hello? McFly? You're telling me I'm the one who's having reading problems? -
[ QUOTE ]
If that's the case you don't need to be in a supergroup then. If the leader tells you all to jump, then jump. If he says take the hit, take the hit. If he tells you what to wear, then you wear it. If you don't like it the Quit button is right there. You'll only find yourself hearing the same thing if you join another if this SG prestige is the way to buy bases.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh my god...you're serious....
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! *gasp*
Hey everybody! Look at the tough guy! He thinks he's running an army or something! Hey general, do you treat your supergroup as crappy as you're saying? Or are you just full of hot air?
Sorry Yin but when I join supergroups I do it to have people to play and have fun with. Not for some pompus scum bag who thinks his pixels are better than mine to treat me like dirt. If I have to read the same kind of self-important garbage from other supergroups that I just did from you, then yeah I think I will stay back and wait for my apartment.
Sad fact is, SG leaders that want a base will -have- to do this even if they disagree with it. There's not even a told option to not put a membership though such garbage. I'm sure it's just great for leaders looking for an e-peen stroke. Everybody else? They're screwed.
Smart design right there. Thumbs up right here. I wonder if Supes and Cap America were so pathetic? -
[ QUOTE ]
- Making people be in a supergroup costume flies in the face of groups like the Justice League, Teen Titans and the Avengers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I forgot. The Freedom Phalanx doesn't wear coordinated costumes either.
It really comes down a very simple question: do you want your supergroup leader telling you how to dress? -
Or, the devs could make it so people don't have to go through such a stupid decision and let toons keep their ring straps and bandoliers while in SG mode.
Making people compromise their character is not a good way to convince them into using supergroups. -
[ QUOTE ]
How so? A one man SG is a one man SG. If that person was always in SG mode and Prestige points are based on how long you were in that mode, then how are people like this boned? The system doesn't really care if it's one guy, the system just cares how long that one guy was in SG mode. No?
[/ QUOTE ]
Eh, I guess so. It's really just a matter of the details. It just seems more likely for a high level person to be able to maintain a base through influence than through prestige. I mean, if prestige doesn't scale with level and the rent runs higher than what an average person can get a month, you have a pretty effective wall.
With an influence based SG base system, different lavels and different amounts of influence being taken in has to be accounted for. That may not be the case with prestige. -
I don't know where to start on this.... so I'll just list off my thoughts.
- The supergroups who had spent their time saving influence to get a base just took a backhand to the face.
- In the high levels people are overflowing with influence. There is no real use for it at all anymore. A major chance for being so rich to mean something just went out the door.
- The people who were planning on being a one man SG and just buying themselves a personal base just got boned (until apartments proper come out.)
- I think having to be in supergroup mode is dumb, as it'll force me to mess up my character. Even if I keep the costume colors the same, I'll still have to wear the SG insignia instead of the ring straps I've had on my toon since forever.
- Making people be in a supergroup costume flies in the face of groups like the Justice League, Teen Titans and the Avengers.
- If people have to be in supergroup mode, then there need to be different ways to place the insignia. On your chest, on just one side of your chest, as an armband, or as a belt. -
Eh, nothing interesting. I guess they won't have any plans for the -game- until after CoV is out.
-
My question:
Was there ever a time or an instance where you felt that the story you wanted to tell was being held back by the current technical limitations of COH? -
-
I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather pay $1-5 extra for CoV+CoH instead of getting half hearted updates for both.
-
I haven't seen hostages or waves yet so I cannot speak of them. I love the new friendly hero implementation, though. I'd like to see much more of it. Like maybe armed police officers that help you in some missions. I'd love to have a personal SWAT team for at least one mission.
It'd be cool if sometimes you'd have to join forces with villains too! Like having a council guy follow you and help you for a mission, but maybe at the very end he turns on you!
I heard that there's an early Croatoa mission that starts in the sewers and goes into the caves. This is good, it needs to be done more often. I've lost track of the times when I go into mission doors that start at sewer grates and warehouse doors and a small paragraph of exposition explains to me how I found the secret lab/Council base underneath it all. I want to find that base myself, instead of being told I did.
Maybe it could also be used for outdoor maps. Maybe missions that start you out in an instanced outdoor area and tell you to go to a building. When you get there you can see the police surrounding the place, the place burning, the place covered by vines or some such. I remember being disappointed when I took the mission to arrest that Lockheart guy working for Nemesis and the game only told me that the police were surrounding the building. I want to see that for myself.
Keep adding more mission types and more maps. This game's missions need more variety. Especially when it comes to maps. -

NO NO NO!
The set has the ability to double as Psionics, and with such a crappy Psionic current set, many Psi users will want it, especially with it's ability to meld better with FF or use Sonic Debuff as Psionics as well. The hands would ruin that completely.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heaven forbid you ask the developers to actually change the set you want instead of hampering the visual style of another. It's sonics, not psionics. Deal.
With that said, I do not like this game's interpretation of sonic powers. When I thought of sonics I thought of being like the Shocker or Shriek, firing blasts from my hands/arms. This set apparently takes after characters like Black Canary though, so I'm pretty much boned. -
I LOVE the fire event! It is exactly what City of Heroes needs: more chances to be a hero that don't just boil down to street sweeping, gophering from contact to contact and solving everything with a fist. I've even grown to like the fact that you can fail and get blown up, although I fear it might cause people to ignore the fires if they think they may get debted.
My suggestions:
- Add the event to Kings Row too. A slummy area like that is just asking for arson crimes.
- Maybe add a part where you go -into- the building and put out the fires inside, rescuing people trapped by flames.
- Make it possible for the skyscrapers to catch fire too! I'd love to be fifty stories up, fighting the flames burning from the top of the city. -
[ QUOTE ]
And the second thing (something I just noticed)...
I don't think this was a PREVIEW. I think this was the ENTIRE FIRST COMIC.
[/ QUOTE ]
Issue 11 of the COH comic was 22 pages long (not counting the ad and the community pages). So, I sorta doubt that. -
I don't like the picture of Paragon in the first panel. There are buildings sitting just outside the war walls of almost every zone in the game. If you look at the city map you can see street outlines between zones. How can all of the stuff outside the zones be farmland?
I hope it was just an artist screw up.
Besides that and the whole Hellion/Outcast screw up, that was a pretty kicking preview. If I had any doubts about this change of hands, they've been clearly crushed by now. This book is now on the track to awesome.
My favorite panel is the one where the guy with the pipe going through his chest is wondering what the heck just went wrong. The look on his face is priceless. -
Because the devs would really rather reveal that villains have to go into hero zones and establishments to change their costumes and that villain ATs will really be 4 instead of 5 instead of revealing that they aren't going to make you fight people in invisible boxes...
I'm sorry, I don't buy, "It's so stupid it MUST be true!" -
Lol, I think you guys are over thinking it. The mimes are an obvious lie. How can you fight a mime anyway? Everything they do is pretend!

He's a big boy. He can handle it. Which is more than I can say for you. Sorry I wanted to make sure of what he said before I gave any opinions.
Well actually, no I'm not. -
[ QUOTE ]
No - that isn't what I said. As long as either YOU or YOUR teammate is within 200 ft., you'll get credit for the defeat.
[/ QUOTE ]
O. -
[ QUOTE ]
Now, let me clarify the situation with Badges and Defeat tasks. As long as you or any of your teammates are within 200 ft. of the defeated mob, EVERYONE on the team gets credit. This is not a change in Issue 4; this is the way that it currently works.
[/ QUOTE ]
So if you're on a kill X mission and you're 200 feet away from an enemy that somebody on your team has defeated, you don't get credit? -

Myself, I'm going bonkers just waiting for the thing to even hit the test server. I hope it is as people are guessing and we'll get it on Tuesday. I have no classes then!

It isn't.
