Oh you simply must listen to them all, if only to marvel at the saga of the wizard that is Jim Darkmagic!

I just have to link to the Penny Arcade Podcasts - their fourth session was in the Dark Sun setting and it was rather funny.

That can go some awesome places.
If that does indeed go some awesome places, it will doubtlessly be awesome.

EDIT: I must've re-read that sentence three or four times before I noticed my mistake. But I'm leaving it in.

As noted, all of the numbers were music video recreations (except for Toxic and the not Britney Spears song). This completely robbed them of any meaning. The episode had absolutely nothing to do with Brittany after the first five minutes. Those five minutes in, I was absolutely exuberant. After I realized that she had nothing real to do with the episode, I felt like it was a bait and switch.

Jacob's increasing perversion walked the line between "hilariously too much" and "uncomfortably over the top", but I'll put that one on personal taste.

In the Madonna episode, they went all out and made a lot of cases as to why Madonna needed to be honored. They failed that connection here. People just mumbled that Britney was hot before they dressed like her and Karaoke Revolution'd their way into one of her music videos.

The only moment I actually liked was Quinn's invitation to Finn at the end. It showed how far the characters have come and how dynamic the writers are now letting them be. It made me smile.

Looking forward to next week's, but I was greatly disappointed by this one.

Edit: They could have made "Not a girl, not yet a woman" work for Rachel's closing song. Surprised they broke the Britney homage in order to wrap up the episode.
Just watched the episode, and I pretty much agree with all the above.

I guess I was hoping for something more from an episode "all about Brittany" - kind of like Preggers was for Kurt, or Wheels for Artie. Instead very little screen time or plot was devoted to her and there was no attempt to move her out of her one-liner supporting character status. Very disappointing.
  5. It was also great to see another episode with Phantom Limb's ever-growing "Revenge Society". They mentioned there are five member in it now... we know of Professor Impossible and Underbite (most probably). Who are the others, I wonder?

I have a hunch the Revenge Society is what this season's finale will be about.
  6. Great episode, but... poor Ghost Robot!

    Yoink! New avatar...

It was a great episode. After so many storylines flattened out in season 1, they needed to throw a lot of new stuff in there for season two and they certainly did. Looking forward to seeing where they go from here.

  9. I do love their animated videos. The Tiefling/Gnome one still makes me giggle every time.
  10. Another brilliant episode, full of win - and a fantastic soundtrack too.
  11. Awesome idea. I hope he can get Jeffrey Combs involved too!

I prefer the old elimination style to be honest. Moving from a knock-out format to this seems a bit backward. Maybe the early rounds should be done this way, and then the highest scorers are put into the knock-out format for the quarter/semi/grand finals? Just a thought.

    4. Not a fan of either choice, so I'll just vote for the underdog - Kinetic Typography

One thing I like about this draft is it neatly avoids the "I've never heard of it, so I can't vote for it" conundrum.

I hadn't thought of that, but that is promising. More chance of more episodes written by Moffat himself too.

The new series of Doctor Who will be split into two for the first time, with its showrunner, Steven Moffat, promising the show's biggest ever cliffhanger – "an earth-shattering climax".

Next year's 13-part series, the sixth since Doctor Who returned in 2005, will run for seven episodes and then return in the autumn for another six.

He added that next year's Doctor Who would run as two separate series, allowing him to double the number of "event episodes" in the new run, and meant fans would never be more than a few months away from the next instalment of the hit BBC1 show.

"Looking at the next series I thought what this show needs is a big event in the middle," Moffat told the Media Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival. "I kept referring to a mid-season finale. So we are going to make it two series – seven episodes at Easter building to an earth-shattering climax, a cliffhanger we could never normally do because it would be too long before it came back. An enormous game-changing cliffhanger that will change everything. The wrong expression would be to say we are splitting it in two. We are making it two separate series."

"What I love about this idea is that when kids see Doctor Who go off the air, they will be noticeably taller when it comes back. It's an age for children. With an Easter series, an autumn series and a Christmas special, you are never going to be more than few months from the new series of Doctor Who.

"Tart that I am, we will now have two first nights and two finales, twice as many event episodes as we had before."
In the full article, Moffat also talks about casting Matt Smith and Karen Gillan and dealing with the show's budget.
  18. Sorry, been a tad busy the past few days with real life stuff.

Here is that animation I mentioned earlier: Please Say Something

I'll be replacing Pirate Baby Cabana Blah Blah Blah with it.
  19. Hmm, quite tempted to swap out my animation choice.

I had several alternative picks for that category that haven't been grabbed by other people. There is one in particular I think is a wonderful bittersweet animated short I just want to share, though it's not nearly as profoundly cool as the Cabana Battle Street Fight.

Indeed. Pun-Pun illustrates the depths to which you can go with 3rd edition.
