Why, Jay would be gettin' some lovin', of course! Don't you KNOW by now!? -
Personally, I really never understood why the Rikti invasion announcements needed to be made global. I'm in St. Martial, running missions. Do I really give a hoot if Mercy Island is being invaded? No, not really. Much less a zone over in Paragon City. It should have been made a zone-wide broadcast, at best. And maybe not even that. The Rikti are suppossed to be technologically advanced. What are they doing, calling ahead and letting people know what their intentions are?
St. Martial Arachnos headquarters, how may we help you?
Yes, this is Tur'Kar from the Rikti. I just want to let you know that we'll be carpet bombing your area in about five minutes, followed by some of our troops teleporting right next to any Villains we see.
Mmmmm, ok, we'll let everyone know via our Emergency Announcement system. Anything else?
Err...yes. Just in case they miss the announcement, we'll also be turning the sky green. Oh, and could you please make sure you turn your sirens on when we arrive? It makes us feel important and all.
Absolutely! We've been itching to have an excuse to use the sirens since they were installed. Due to our weather never changing, people have been complaining that it was a waste of money. NOW we'll see who's laughing!
Uhhh, ok, whatever. Everything is set then, we'll be by in a few, just have to gather a few volunteers and what not.
Good! Oh, and I hope you don't mind, but anyone you defeat won't be punished via debt or anything. Does that work for you?
Absolutely. We just want to make sure everyone knows we're coming. It's more for the benefit of our leaders, really. They're always making a big stink that we're not making our presence known enough, so this should satisfy them. Well, thank you for your cooperation, do make sure you let EVERYONE know we're coming.
Oh, thank YOU for breaking our boredom. And don't worry, we'll let EVERYONE know, regardless if it affects them or not. See you soon!
Indeed.
Maybe not quite what's really happening, but honestly, if you can't tell your zone is being invaded from the sky changing color, the sirens, the ships appearing in the distant skyline, then...maybe you need to get out more. -
Given that the past, what, three days have been a major lag-fest for many of us whenever a Rikti invasion happens, thus making it very dificult to attain the invasion badges, is there any chance you could extend the invasion a few more days?
I'm just asking in my run-on question there. -
Marvel Universe Online and DC game may be windfalls in disguise for the CoX world. Being that they will be console games first, and PC adaptations second, it may leave their playerbase wanting for more depth into a hero-based genre game, which is here CoX would fit their bill. Console games, even in these next generation machines, are still largely limited by the difficulty on being easily adaptable to the ever changing environment that is an MMO. This is not to say that they will not work for a while, but their long-term ability to keep adapting is usually very questionable.
Of even greater interest may be if they are planning a CoX 2.0 world after the Marvel/DC release. Not only could they improve on the current state of CoX, but just like they are taking some of the unused ideas and putting them into Marvel, Cryptic could take unused ideas from Marvel and put them into CoX 2.0. It's really very exciting if you think about it. The CoX world allows the developers much more freedom in implementing their creative ideas since there's no preset conceptions on what is and is not in existance. I'm sure Statesman and company are very excited about working on the Marvel game, but being that he and they are founders of a very unique world that was created from their own minds, I would venture to guess they'd like to see that world expanded.
CoX might take a beating from Marvel and DC, to be sure. But if marketed correctly, CoX could also gain more subscribers in the process as these two other major releases might leave players wanting for more depth. Allow Cryptic to make more money from MUO, and then turn around and create CoX 2.0 with all the features that CoX 1.0 was not capable of having. -
ALL of you are forgetting the MOST important question...
Is there a badge for this!?
<_<

WHAT!? You know you were thinking it!

Bah! Always talking about the bas ATs, never mentioning the Kheldians. Us much-ignored Peacebringers and Warshdes never even get thought of when deciding what to fix next.
I mean, sure we're "Epic" and all...but our resistances are around those of a Defender (human form), our health that of a Blaster (squid form), and our damage that of a tank (lobster form). And that's not mentioning that we get two-shoted by anyone with a purple-red gun! Now how are we suppossed to solo, hmmm?
And my point? Trying to prove that though you may think you may have it bad, someone always has it worse, you just never think of them because you're too busy thinking of yourself.
P.S., I think Kheldians are fine the way they are.
