You will still blast as a Stormy, mostly once you've got everyone pinned and debuffed in the corner, though how much really does depend on your team size
Electric does suit the best for concept really, and I don't think the colour differences clash, since the only electric primary power is lightening sotrm and there the electricity is coming from a storm cloud, not your hands. In terms of other concept synargies... personally I think you could do ok with archery since most of the primaries you;ll use are toggles or clickies you'll generally drop at the beginning on the fight, so redraw won't be too much of a worry. -
Question that came up last night when playing CoV with my Mastermind friend. Now I'm not a big (or indeed at all) PvP player, though during my one excusion I found out what happens when you use a confuse power on a player, the targeting gets reversed. But we were wondering what happens when you confuse a mastermind's pets, or any pets for that matter. Do they act like a confused mob and attack the Mastermind or other members of his team, or is their targeting just switched mearning the mastermind can't target you with them or is this affected by what mode they are in to begin with (ie is Defensive different from if they're on Aggressive)?

True. My bad. i will try a blaster next, for a PvE, but I cant imagine Scrappers holding too well in PvE's. (but I'm a newb on here)

I disagree, my BS/DA is entierly PvE and actually does baddly in PvP. Dark Regeneration is your friends, and to get maximum effectiveness out of it, you need multiple targets. Scrapper's (IMHO) biggest role is boss-killing, in PvE, since they have the defence to stand toe-to-toe with the boss without their minions worrying them that much and the damage (unlike say a Blaster) to dish out to actually take them down in a reasonable time period (unlike say a Tanker). Of course that is not to say Scrapper's are teh uber, or the only AT you'll ever need (though they tend to solo better than others) but their use in PvE is not to be neglected. -

Cool, I really like that name "Dark Knights". you should start a SG with just Dark Knights in.

I have to say I can't really claim originality for the name, I read it in an old BS/DA guide on the US forums and really liked it, so I kept using it.

I've started getting DO's and they seem to help abit. This is all new to me, so I'm stumbling around at the moment

It takes a while to get used to, but I've found once you hit higher levels it turns out to be a well balanced combo, able to mookinate (with Death Shroud, Slice, Whirling Sword and Dark Regen to keep you standing) almost as well as the traditional single target killing BS scrappers are so famed for. Of course everyone has their own play styles and it can be versatile enough build to take into any direction you want -
You're not alone out there, I can assure you. But yes, us 'Dark Knights' (as I like to call the combination) are rare. You'll struggle with endurance earlier on, so learn to manage your toggles, don't keep up ones you don't need. Once you hit SOs and Stamina though it will take care of a lot of your problems, certainly when teaming.

In a pretty much unanimous vote, OG it is then . I don't tend to do much PvP (or at all) which does seem to eliminate the use of CoF. Though I have to say, the idea of my enemies cowering in front of me in terror did appeal, that's why I have a Mind Controller

I'm having some trouble deciding what to take for my BS/DA. I use Death Shroud a lot, I love the power and since I don't tend to switch around toggles that much during combat I'll tend to leave it on. As a result I can see the issue with CoF... I assume the area is about the same, meaning the fear effect if effectively negated (if I've understood the mechanics) and of course the endurance cost with DS would be prohibitive. The question is... is the accuracy debuff worth getting the power or should I not bother and just wait for oppressive gloom?
Answers on a postcard please -
Not played any of the other sets as a defender (have Kin on my controller and dark miasma on my Corruptor) but STORM rocks. Primarily as it's an immensly active set, I spend half my time running/teleporting around, ensuring all baddies are appropriatly pinned in corners. Makes it look all very frantic and chaotic, yet it's immensly controlled chaos.

I've found Storm is effective solo and I've not yet hit Tornado/Lightning Storm yet which help on the damage front. If I was redoing my Stormie though, I'd probably drop electric since I took it primarily for concept.

I'd say, from experience of being on both sides of this that Snow Storm is probably the worst for visibility of anchor. Then again Snow Storm distroys any sort of visibility anyway. I've pretty much given up on trying to stop people killing my anchors and tend to just put it on the biggest thing there, usually by the time it goes down there will only be a couple of scattered mobs left around to clean up anyway
As to why Scrappers always kill anchors, well as much as we (well some of us) try not to, sometimes when you're in the middle of a large mob it's acutally quite difficult to pay attention to exactly what you're hitting, especially once you've dealt with the boss and have got onto the random mobs. Half the time you only realise you've taken down the anchor when the debuff graphic drops. -
Possibly slightly biased opinion, since it's what I use, but I've found BS/DA works well.
Dark Armour gives you some good resistances (including Psi and Negative), an amazing self-heal and above all Death Shroud, which actually saves you endurance. How you say? Well essentially it means you don't have to use one of your big and expensive attacks (I'm sorry, BS doesn't really do cheap small ones) if the enemy has but a sliver of health. Just skip to next target and within a couple of seconds your previous target will have fallen over.
Of course I'm the first to admit it's endurance intensive combination, but with some sense and Stamina, your downtime will be minimal. You will also need Acrobatics as knockback can be a [censored].
... And it looks cool
