Never tried a scrapper, and the test character I tried with broadsword/dark armour was so end-heavy (admittedly at level 8), I ended up rolling a new one and reworking out powers. Still only like level 13, so I have no idea how it will all turn out in the end. o_o

yeah moslty what ive gone with so far, currently lvl 18 (almost 19) abd really enjoying it, yeah a bit end heavy( but i have a lvl 50 rad/rad def so know about end drain) but im hoping that once i get stamina it will help and hopefully get some end red in there aswell, but only died a few times so far since the start and sleeps and all the rest arent a problem so im really enjoying it
I'm a bit sleepy so won't be posting my build, but my BS/DA is currently level 26... I won't be getting Stamina until level 28 but so far it's not actually been a -huge- problem not to have it. It'll be useful, for sure... but solo I'm pretty fine as long as I have a blue inspiration or two in my tray just in case. In missions where I don't need my Mez protection, I'm laughing ;-)

I'm eventually possibly going something like this with mine, but it's a bit geared towards PvP. Currently I have something far less thought-through, just testing whatever power seems cool at the moment
(ignore the level of slottings, I won't be going anything like this until I'm 50)

Hrm, from what I heard, parry is so low in damage that there's no point in putting damage enhancements in it. What you should be using it for is for buffing yourself with extra defence or something.

Parry is 84% as good as Slash, damagewise (unless the numbers in nofuture are wrong), plus it has the defense bonus. I'd rather buff up the ST damage chain than add some melee/lethal defense, which is quite easilly negated in PvP by firing energy with a ranged attack.

I've buffed my Parry up with defense, and find it a great move against boss's and it lets me get the next few moves off without getting too much damage.
Yes, it works nicely in PvE as everything in melee range likes to stay in melee range and use their melee attacks.
What I was saying is that it is not nearly as bad an attack to be used in offense as usually claimed (at least if nofuture is to be trusted on the damage values). And that in PvP the additional defense gained from slotting slotting it might not be worth it on a character that has no other defense based protective powers. Many people try to maximise their +tohit to counter defense or don't like to stay in melee/use melee typed attacks.

True. My bad. i will try a blaster next, for a PvE, but I cant imagine Scrappers holding too well in PvE's. (but I'm a newb on here)

I disagree, my BS/DA is entierly PvE and actually does baddly in PvP. Dark Regeneration is your friends, and to get maximum effectiveness out of it, you need multiple targets. Scrapper's (IMHO) biggest role is boss-killing, in PvE, since they have the defence to stand toe-to-toe with the boss without their minions worrying them that much and the damage (unlike say a Blaster) to dish out to actually take them down in a reasonable time period (unlike say a Tanker). Of course that is not to say Scrapper's are teh uber, or the only AT you'll ever need (though they tend to solo better than others) but their use in PvE is not to be neglected.
Oops, I ment "PVP" lol. See, I'm not with it at the moment. But yes, I can see Scrappers holding better in PvE, but in PVP, from what I've seen, is that a lot of players tend to attack from affar in PvP.
