I have a friend with CP, so very similar results. Honestly the standard setup is fine. Keep the primary attack chain on 12345, keep toggles on an upper tray and set them before battle. Tab through enemies and attack at will. Movement is somewhat slowed if you don't mouse look but not that much. Grab recall friend for tunnel maps and have a blast.
My buddy with CP plays all the time. In fact he introduced me to the game back in the day. If he wants to play support, there are key binds to toggle through allies as well. You can find the in th defender forum. -
Quote:First, I am very happy to say,yes I am able to get back into my original account. I even unlocked a slot and let my very first 50 take out a couple of CoT for old times sake. Good times.I have a couple of questions about old accounts turning premium.
First, I accidentally logged into the forums under an old account. (Last visited 7-19-2005) Safe to assume that means the account has been reactivated as a premium?
Assuming I can log in, is there a way to convert a premium account to VIP from the paragon market, or do I have to do that from the master account page on the web?
The problem is I can't remember any of the master account information, which is why I created this new account.
Now you can try to upgrade to VIP from the market, but to do so you still need the master account login info. So it looks like if I go that route I will need to contact support.
Now if I decide to have only one vip account, does anyone know if I can delete toons from the premium account without using a global unlock? There are some concept chars I would love to have back, even if out means deleting them and starting over on the active vip account. -

My DM/SD scrapper is sitting in his low 40s and I've decided to spend a little time planning out a level 50 build for him. I don't have unlimited resources for the build, so what I put together is what I think is a middle class build. I'm trying to keep it around the 1.5 Billion range. Keep in mind, I have a couple weeks to ding 50 and I already have 2 of the LOTG 7.5s and an extra hero merit. I am hoping to have all 5 by the time I hit 50, so those are not factored into the cost.
I think I have achieved what I am looking for in a solid build. ~200% End recover, over 200% regeneration, soft capped defenses, 140% recharge and perma hasten.
After quite a bit of tweaking, I think I have the build where I want it. So that means you all get to tell me all the things I did wrong
Any advice is certainly welcome. Again, this is not by any means an unlimited build. I know I can get more out of it with 5 purple sets, but I don't have that kind of inf to throw around nor in particular the patients to make it.

I keep seeing "who will die" but does it actually state that it will be a hero? I haven't payed too much attention so I very well could have missed it.
-
That didn't bother me so much until they nerfed the income merit exchange rate. I used to get almost 30% more income merits per time merit exchanged. If they nerf it again the time vs reward is going to be terrible.
-
Quote:That's great to hear, mostly because it would suck for you to have lost a slot over this. Honestly, I expected nothing to be done with this at all. Simply from a risk/reward point of view. If the devs open this back up, half the community says "DEVS ONLY WANT FARMS!!! COX IS DOOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEDDDD I QUIT!" On the other hand, if they leave it locked and say it is an unacceptable arc, the other half of the community screams "DEVS HATE ME BECAUSE I AM TOO GOOD AT THIS GAME!!!! COX IS DOOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEDDDD I QUIT!!!!"They finally OK'd my arc today. It's only a single mission, and the mobs no longer rez. Plus the mobs are worth a bit less XP because of the lack of rez. Time to replace them with regular Dev created mobs that are easier and worth full XP.
Honestly, I am happy they responded to this and that you got your arc slot back. But I am truly surprised. I know in their position, I would have been a lot more likely to do nothing and risk pissing one person off.
I won't come out with my personal opinion on farming, mostly because I'm a live and let live kind of person. I pay my money and play the way that keeps me entertained and I think everyone else should too, even if it is a different way than I play.
I will however say, the amount of time and research and detail Top Doc put into this tutorial and this mission arc as it originally stood is absolutely astonishing. I think the fact that people are willing to not only do this kind of research and data mining, but also willing to freely distribute the results of that research makes the COX community, well, pretty amazing. -
I thought most of the farmers made their money rolling ticket rewards and dumping product into the market. More product doesn't drive prices up generally. Or have I missed the point of farming? Basing that understanding off the CEBR thread.

Wing,
I think there are a lot of casual players out there that don't bother with a lot of the set and IO stuff. Some of us have been around a long time. Sure this account registers recently, but I remember hitting 40 before there was a 50 on my original account, so I was there with you back then, and like you have been playing on and off ever since. I still laugh about the old days when a properly slotted Regen scrapper was what God/the gods rolled when he/they wanted to feel even more powerful.
You've seen a lot of responses already, but in regard to forum builds, you won't see a lot of regular SO or even common IO builds around because, well why bother to post them? The only thing that has really changed and I've had to wrap my head around is the whole concept of diminished returns on slots. No more six slotting damage. It's been around for a while but only recently have I taken the game even seriously enough to care about it. You get the most bang for the buck out of 3 slots of whatever the primary benefit of the power is, and possibly some secondary slots if you need additional affects.
I've never been kicked from a team for not being "TEH UBERZ ENUFF" whatever that even means. (Whippersnappers...lawn...off) I know I've enjoyed the game at all levels, 1-50 with no crazy expensive sets or builds. If you've been around on and off for 7 years, you have a pretty good idea of how powers work for the most part. Wrap your head around diminished returns and your builds will be just fine.
If you are worried you are not effective enough on teams during end game content, find a nice casual supergroup. They still exists, and you will find teaming with them will often keep you within a group that has a similar play style. Or just hit random PUGs until you build out a nice friend list of people that play similarly to you.
Go, play, have fun. That's what casual gaming is all about. -
If it doesn't seem to work be sure you are changing your GAME password and not your master account password. That mistake held me up for quite a while.

And another one from last night...
I was showing off a bit for my kids and running a tip mission against some pretty nasty spawns of Freakshow. I was running solo +0x6 with bosses. I had just finished a group with a couple of tanks and was end and health drained and waiting for soul drain, dark consumption and shield charge to recharge. I was standing just out of aggro range of a double spawn going over my tray of candy to decide if I could take both spawns at the same time. The conversation went something like this.
S: Dad, that was a cool battle, I can't believe you killed all those guys, even that huge one that came back to life.
D: Yeah, that was a pretty epic battle, and Freaks can self res. Wait until you see the next one against the double spawn.
S: What are you waiting for?
D: Waiting on powers to recharge and to get a little health back.
S: That guy is cool looking (Son touches the named Freak boss tank on the screen)
D: Yeah and look at his crazy name.
S: Oh yeah, that's funny. Hey, what does this power do? (Touches some ranged temp attack. Daggers I think)
... and suddenly I am descended upon by a full implement of double spawned Freakshow pain. Now Alfa Stryke fought valiantly for the pride of family, but sadly ended up in the hospital.
And that's how I learned not to let my kids watch me play on the TOUCHSCREEN computer!
He was actually very apologetic, but I was laughing. Good times! A scrapper that has no debt is hardly a scrapper at all. And whats with this patrol xp crap? A self respecting hero can't even sit on the debt cap overnight anymore. -
Thanks for the advice. While this account is new I am a returning player. Nemesis are one of the few enemies where a scrappers primary target are the squishy minions. I left around I4 as Irecall so a lot has changed. My other that's how I leaned story has to do with mobs learning how elevators work. Might post that later. : -)
-
So there I was, locked in another warehouse looking to bring to justice another faction of Nemesis. Nothing seems particularly special as I round a corner and see another cluster of lawless cretains darkening what should be a bright and thriving city. Just what I was looking for. I jump into the middle of the group and fire off soul drain to top off my ability to bring these cretins to justice in the most expedient way possible. As the animation fires off, I start tabbing through the group looking for anyone I need to worry about taking down first. What? After I jump in? Yeah, I'm a scrapper. Scrapperlock, live it, love it. Anyway, as I, what I thought was quickly, scroll through the group, BAM!!, I'm faceplanted. I never even got an attack of. Odd, but with Defense, sometimes the dice (or random number generator) rolls against you and such things happen. Oh well, an Awaken and a tray full of candy later, the group is nothing but paperwork for the local authorities.
Moving right along, about 2 rooms later, as I come around the corner, I jump into another group, fire off another soul drain and start rolling through the group looking for primary targets. The observant of you might notice a pattern here. Now this is where I got frustrated, because before I get a single attack off, BAM!! faceplanted. Now, I know random is random and Defense is an odds game and some nights the dice don't like you. HOWEVER.... this is crazy. I've never been faceplanted THAT fast and certainly not twice in such a short time frame. Rinse repeat, Awaken, tray of candy, nothing but paperwork. This time however, I start scrolling back through the battle messages to see exactly who hit me so hard.
That's when it happened. I realized just how I had gotten so "unlucky"...
And that's how I learned that you should never slot your opening attack power next to REST!
So what have you learned while playing, and how did you learn it?
