  1. Actually a better way to send them off would've just been letting Amy get pregnant again. They spelled it out in episode one of this season. And the whole build up of 'doctor life vs real life' was coming to a head, another baby would've sealed the deal and meant they couldn't adventure any more while still giving them a couple small cameos as the Doctor moved on.

But oh well. Last minute emotional gut punch. Sure.

I -believe- just sent back. The 'hotel farm' or whatever was caused by a mass of angels and the paradox they created killed most of them, but the one in the graveyard survived so it managed to 'feed' on them, alone.

Yeah it's on both. They've been on beta for quite a while now but apparently they were published and set to a timer on live so they're there but there's no way to access them without the timers. Episode 4's just clicked on so next month episode 5 will click on. Or you can just go hit up beta and get both right now I think.
  4. yeah that was a good line. Though, did we really need -another- 'Rory Dies' moment? The Silence weren't kidding. He really is the man that dies and dies again.
  5. Just as a general heads up as I don't think the info has really been put out properly.

The latest signature story arc has gone live. Apparently parts 4 and 5 are in the game but are just on timers, so episode 4 went live not too long ago and episode 5 will go live sometime around the end of next month.

it's not much, but still nice that we'll get the wrap up of this story before the end.

For the curious, the contact is James Harvan, both in Atlas and Sharkhead Isle but it's showing up in the SSA Contact list now too. Oh and it's still VIP only, so, sorry to the folks that aren't locked in as that.
  6. Called it.

Felt kind of like an asspull though.

"oh, happy ending, everything's normal... BUT WAIT".

Bittersweet but for ways to 'kill' them it was probably one of the better ones that "killed them but didn't". I kind of have a feeling he's not going to do anything about the family though which is... kind of weak since we were introduced to Rory's Dad so recently? And what's the whole point of using this season to really hit home on the "Trying to separate Doctor Life from Real Life" if he just kills them off this way and moves on?

Honestly I think Moffat is just getting kind of sloppy. Like, I enjoyed the episode overall but it seems like he's just making up rules as he goes now. This season has just felt the weakest of his 3.
  7. What's the word on the Weekly Strike Targets? I believe the schedule only went to the end of this month.

If there's any chance we can do requests for it, please please please, no 45-50 WSTs. The WST is a great leveling tool, so if we're going to bow out but still let folks push to 50 to check out everything, it'd be better to have the WSTs be like Penelope Yin, Imperious, Moonfire/Renault, etc. And for gods' sakes, no Numina/Eden/Mistral!! :P
  8. ...............why is this in the bug/tech issue forum??
  9. Victoria Victrix.

And her last post (check out 'news?' page 18) has her saying negotiations are still ongoing.

Today there's actually a reason to 'rush to 50', and I really don't think the game is better for it.
Yeah you may think I'm right, I disagree. Having no end game kind of blew. As much as I do enjoy rolling alts and playing through the various content, it was a detriment to hit 50 and be 'done' essentially, just shelving the character to gather dust or even deleting them.

An end game is inevitable, it's just part of being -a game-. The creators would love to just keep content going in perpetuity but there are always limits in place.

We didn't need more levels and powers to gain in order to become gods, we just needed more content that really challenged us and made us use all the abilities and experience we gained on the trip to 50.
Yeah they really broke the mold there for so many years by just not having a worthwhile end game. You hit 50, did all the Taskforces and arcs at the 45-50 level and then... rolled a new character to do the same.

Hi welcome to MMOs and end game content where the game gives you alternate ways to continue getting stronger and stronger while still facing down stronger enemies.

    token?!

Yeah the tokens and points and stuff are all automated so apparently it's all still running.

That's actually kind of bittersweet. I'm going to have finished T5 just before the game shuts down.

Just think how it would go if it was Eleven and Jack and River. That would be some "trouble".

Well that was kind of my point. he was a FACT in Time. Rose revived him by turning back the clock and -freezing- him to the point before he died so he can never progress beyond that state. To me that means he should never change, never age. obviously the writers felt differently if they wanted to hint otherwise but to me it just seemed like such a simple concept.

Since it was a Davies character I think it's relatively safe to say it won't. I mean, it'd be nice, I did like Who Jack (Torchwood jack can go jump in a lake). But as with any creative hands-change it does seem mostly like Moffet has left Davies' stuff alone. No Torchwood, no Rose, no Jack, no Time War, etc. We still get little references now and again (SO MUCH GUILT) but I think for the most part Moffet just isn't going to try to touch or expand on it (which is a shame, I really did enjoy the Time War mythos Davies built over time) He's got his own stuff, like River Song, to develop.

Just thinking about some of the answers we got and just playing through some of the content now brings up more questions.

Like, why did Twinshot leave Ultimatum?

Really with the Shining Stars showing up in more content and slated to show up in even more I kind of wondered if we wouldn't do more arcs with them, like the 3 Twinshot arcs. As much maligned as those are I did like most of the characters and thought it was neat we got to see a new super group 'grow' (Even if the 'join a hero/villain/etc group!' was getting over played).

Personally, I was all excited to see another Time Lord in The Doctor's Wife until it turned out that the Corsair was dead. Oh well, at least we got to see his arm.
That was still such a stupid twist to me. Not YANA, but the identity of the face of Bo. Also nonsensical. "You're a fixed point in time" (only you're going to grow and age and mutate into this giant face thing, so y'know, not -really- fixed at all).

Sort of. The arc brings up the subject that Cimerora disappears but does not state explicitly it was mot, only that Mot's presence was very damaging.
  20. The devouring earth plants make the same rustling noise when they shift from tree to humanoid form.

And I just noticed the Vanguard base in Atlas has a double door on the outside and 2 left doors on the inside (IE, they don't match up, int he slightest XD)

Yeah if this were a normal episode, sure. Since it's their departure episode though? he might end up coming up short.

They've built it up so there's no going to be just some "Sorry, we can't travel with you anymore Doctor, goodbye" kind of send off. I'm totally expecting them to die or be lost in time or something.
  22. Yeah I think they've just been building it up for 'teh dramaz'.

Considering that their send off episode involves the angels I'm going to assume they're going to get 'eaten' by the angels with the trick they were initially introduced with. So Amy and Rory will be sent back int ime and spend the remainder of their lives in New York and the Doctor won't be able to 'save' them until he runs into their old selves passing away, but they'll have gotten a full life.

Or something. I'm hoping it's not that simple or easy :P
  23. Ok so Power of Three.

I liked this one, probably my favorite of the season so far. Not to say it did not have its problems but I liked it nonetheless.

It had a decent mystery that kept you wondering (even if the 'reveal' is anticlimatic). The character development -really- shines here, though in both ways I like and dislike. Mainly because the new show has just had this obsession with the divide between a companion's 'real life' and their life with the Doctor and to me it's a crutch for the writers to make up drama and continually pull things back to modern Earth to see family(and rescue them), keep up with lives, etc. Not necessarily bad and in fact this episode did it really really well but it still doesn't deny that it's been an ever-present theme and favored mechanic of the writers that's just wearing thin for me. I just kind of liked companions when they didn't have attachments. But the interactions here were just delightful and at least felt meaningful.

The climax was pretty weak though. Like, it just felt like it didn't matter what was said or who the 'villain' was, they could've just said any old thing in place there, then they had the random quick fix. Which -really- didn't seem believable, the sheer time difference between the Tower of London and Rory's hospital was more than long enough to leave everyone afflicted with heart attacks stone dead. This pretty well felt like a Russell T Davies story with the magic fix-it button.

But for this one the story really just felt like a framework for all the character development. Kind of sloppy but the development really made up for it. And there were a lot of good parts to chuckle about like the party 'trip'. And Rory's Dad was quite adorable. Kate Stuart really made me smile the widest though and I thought it was a very good nod to the old show and a beloved character. I'm -really- hoping she gets a few more cameos.

    DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
  25. I won't miss trying to discuss the story and having the regular crew talk about A) The awful loyalists B) the awful quality or C) anything Venture said.
