Quote:And you're grasping at straws, looking for any way to discredit something I did because you don't like me.
I just have to say something even though this wasn't directed at me. If you think because your one blaster can solo a GM that means the AT as a whole needs no help other than all other secondaries suck compared to /mental...well i don't know, try taking that to the devs. -
Anything can do anything with X amount of inf dumped into the build, well for the most part. Doesnt really say anything about the AT at all.

Quick question about /wp on stalkers, do they still get QR? Looks like they don't but i've never heard anyone mention it so maybe it got rolled into another power?
-
I think all damage aura powers should have taunt included with them, my biggest issue is with /FA. My fm/fa scrapper was probabaly the funnest toon i've ever played until i got burn and mobs started to scatter 5 seconds into a fight. I aggree that not all secondaries need taunts added to them but some could definetly benfit from it. /sr? No i dont think that would do anything but hurt it. Same with /regen. But /fa? I don't see it doing anything but helping the set function, imo.

Thats weird, i have 10 open as well. Is it possible to abandon arcs?
edit: I gues 10 is the max, i wonder how i would go about completing the arcs on my villain turned hero, sure don't feel like having to swap back over just for that. Not sure how to handle it on that character, he has 10 open arcs, all on inactive villain contacts as well -
So if you have any open arcs, even with no active missions, you cant access him as a contact? That sounds like it could be the reson, in my case possibly, but i was under the assumption that it didn't matter how many open arcs you had, as long as you had mission space. Keep in mind im refering to pure contact arcs, not ouro or AE or anything of the sort.
edit: And I do have GR and both characters have been 50 for a good while. -
Turns out i'm having the same problem. I posted something awhile about not being able to pick up missons on this particular character, a level 50 brute who is now full hero. Turns out i can only get certain misssions, like if i did all the paper then the bank one from the DT in PI. I chose harvery miller(?) and can get his missions. And the timed ones in RWZ. But nothing else. As soon as i logged in i got the new contact pop up so i figured i'd be good but now he's just in the inactive tab.
Gona try it out with a few more characters, hopefully that'll work
edit: Tried it with my other 50, scrapper, never switched sides so i have no idea what the problem could be.. -
So this is my first real attempt at a /sd toon, while looking at the descriptions of many of the toggles the set seems to be a balance of def and resis. I gues my real question is what should i slot for? Is the resis so minimal that it's just an added bonus that i shouldn't slot for or the other way around?
Any other tips for leveling, slotting, playing, IOs, anything really for an ss/sd will be greatly appreciated. -
I switched from red to blue. I talked to the detective in PI for the radio scanner, not sure if i can pick up mishes from that yet but i'll login and check. I tried to do the contact to gain entry into the midnight squad (the one in steel in the university, dont know the name) and I tried some contacts in RWZ. Another note, it's a level 50 brute.
-
So i just recently did my last tip mission and the morality to turn completely blue side. I wasn't having this problem before doing this but now i cant seem to pick up any mishes from any contacts. Under my active contacts tab there are only two active: the one in the university in steel canyon(intro to inventions one) and the timed rikti mish contact. I can also do some of my tip mishes and some ouroboros mishes.
I've tried accepting the few mishes i can, then dropping them. Also tried auto completing. For some reason i can not accept any new mishes from any other contacts. They all tell me i have to many mishes to accept any more while i have 0 active.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. -
Alt-itis got me again. So i've been wondering what new toon to roll and honestly i love KM so it was really just between what secondary. I had it narrowed down to either /da, /elec, or /wp. I realized i've taken them all to 50, with exception to /elec. So why not give it a shot?
So i started looking at the build, going over what it would look like. Normally i just kinda go through everything in my head to see how tight/free a build would be. And this is a pretty tight one. I didn't realize that i would want every power in /elec lol.
So i was wondering if anyone had any advice on which powers i would need and which ones i could put off maybe until the 40s? I don't like feeling like the build wont be complete until the 40s but im really interested in this toon, so if thats what i have to do then so be it.
I know from looking at /elec more closely, every single power seems like i would definetly want it. The only one i could see putting off would be the damage aura, which i really would like to have atleast by the mid 20s. The combination of fury and power siphon seems to nice to give up. But that brings me to my other question, burst? Personally, since KM only has one AoE i feel could skip this power? Am i missing something?
Sorry i couldnt make this post a little more detailed, wanted to get it on the forums before running out the house. Oh and any advice concerning KM/ or /elec will be greatly appreciated, not just those concerning the questions above. -
Alright, thanks for all the help. Gona see what i can do with him, hopefully i'l be able to work out something.

I would post a build but i've never used mids.
I'll say i have all the /sr powers available at 25 with exception to agile.
I've got quick strike, body blow, smashing blow, and burst from kin.
Stamina, SJ, and hasten as of now. Was planing on picking up combat jumping later on for small +def -
Well first, i'm a vet thats recently returned to the game for GR. So far loving all the content and just everything that has been added to the game. I left the game a good little while ago but im still fairly familiar with IOs.
Well anyways i've got a kin/sr brute to 25 right now. I don't really have to much experience with /sr but i have always heard that it's a tough set to work with sometimes until heavy IOs and softcaping. Thats the way it feels right now, not impossible to play just a little bit more challenging than say a /wp brute.
I gues the point of this thread is to get some advice on both of these powersets. I think i have a fairly good hold on kin, although i was wondering if quick strike(think thats what it's called, the first power choice?) was worth keeping in the build. Other than that, i gues power siphon, worth it?
Really i've been wondering about /sr. I'm not clueless about IOs and i know how to make good use of them, but i cant seem to figure out how i could soft cap this toon. When would i be able to do this? How much would it run me for? I've heard it can be done fairly cheaply, well hopefully it can lol.
I should also mention that im not obssesed with hitting the soft cap. It's just as of now, SOs arent really getting me where i want to be with /sr. If i can get within a few % of the soft cap with being able to save a good bit of money, ill accept that. I just really want him to be more survivable than he is right now lol.
I'll appreciate any help i can get on this subject. -
Write a book. I'd buy it and read it. All i can say
But yeah seriously very nice read. Took me awhile but enjoyed every minute of it. -
Hmm could you maybe post your build or something. Ive always wanted to get into DBs but with all the combos and everything they just seem a little...complicated. After reading through this guide im thinking i may give them another go and your comment about this compared to claws made me really hopefull. Claws is probably my favorite set and i would love to try something somewhat close to them for brutes.

How do you get into the closed beta testing
This issue looks amazing. The devs have out done themselves with this. Really cant wait until it hits test. -
Awsome guide. Just one question. How did you like fighting DE dont they have high resistance to smashing attacks? I love them on my claws scrapper but i seem to recall (been awhile since i played ma/ ) they took forever to take down. Well atleast the tree ones. The crystals were fine .
