Quote:This is also true of Posi part 2, at one point it asks you to talk to a Hero Corp Rep, sometimes it picks the one in Croatoa for some reason, but talking to the one in steel still works. Probably similar to the mission to talk to Ms. Liberty in Manticore's task force that tells you to go to Ft. Trident, when you can still talk to the one in atlas to advance.I also had a HUH!?! moment about this since I knew the Hero Corp Rep was at the Uni in Croatoa not close to the monorail station. I first ran the arc through Ouro and sincerely questioned this in my home servers Badging channel. I was told it is a Text bug. The mission text should read Steel Canyon. Some how it is borked in that BOTH Croatoa and Steel Canyon Hero Corp Reps will give you the mission. No other Hero Corp Reps will give it to you ( I grabbed the arc through Ouro multiple times and went to every Hero Corp Rep in every City zone to check this). I /bug reported it.
If this is happening to you do the same. -
I try to make the SFS runs efficient, but I wouldn't really consider them speed runs. I mostly have the average times up so people who have never run them can get an idea of how long it might take. Also because I'm kind of a statistics nerd so I enjoy tracking numbers and whatnot.

Quote:Something to add to the UG strategy, though it's more about being successful on the trial rather than any particular badge. Regarding the various Warwalker fights:Master of UG strategy is posted (third post.)
See you guys tomorrow around 8 est!Quote:The strategy here is similar to the rings/sequestering situation in the BAF trial. If you are targeted, it is important to move QUICKLY away from the fight. Failure to do so will result in everyone being held and typically significant numbers of deaths. This is a major reason for failure at this point. The league simply cannot go into melee range and "slug it out", hoping to overcome the WarWalker's health bar. -
Wow, good thing I checked the forums when I got home from work instead of logging in right away. That UI bug was driving me crazy on beta, I can't believe it made it to live. Looks like I'll be taking an unexpected break from the game for a day or two at least.

Once again we filled up very quickly, I think mostly because we helped take down scrapyard right before the SFS start time and a lot of people from that stayed around to join Mortimer Kal. So as for the strategy in my last post, we pulled Positron to the corner where the green imp spawns and took him down with no trouble. However I did learn that on a full team 2 green imps will spawn(in opposite corners), so it may have been better to leave him in the middle after all. Afterwards we ran the 1st villain respec trial. Taking down the vines fast enough was a little rocky at first, but we recovered nicely and showed that tree who's boss.

Coming up next week according to the List is the Operative Renault Strike Force, one of my favorites! This strike force not only awards the Leviathan badge, but also will grant you a random coralax temp power! (Coral Amulet, Coral Hammer, or Coral Shards) So if you don't like fish and you want to take the fight to them, meet up in Sharkhead next Sunday, November 13th at 5pm PST/8pm EST!

Quote:Tony, I know this whole thing has been terrible but... that whole thing you just said there sounded AWESOME! A botnet with zombie machines?! I mean, I know those are actual terms, but when used in a sentence it sounds like skynet has become self-aware and has started raising the dead!Just to give an idea of why we're being so paranoid, apparently our domain names got harvested into the botnet as a compromised host, and even on the new server I've seen several attempts to access the attack vector (which I must emphatically stress HAS BEEN CLOSED) from zombie machines in various parts of the world to try to reinfect it.

Well, after a somewhat painful experience last night I can confirm the bit above about Posi's imps. The team I was on last night couldn't kill the imps fast enough until the entire team focused on taking it down, and it seemed like Posi had the Imp spawner cranked up to 100. :P We eventually pulled Posi onto the spot where the healing imp spawned so we could all just nuke it as soon as it showed up and sure enough that worked. Will probably do something similar on SFS.
-
I expect the next temp pack will be the Christmas pack, available January 1st!

So I was looking over the Wiki page for Mortimer Kal and saw this bit of info I thought might be handy for the Posi fight:
Quote:I used to think that once the imps got to posi they exploded, but apparently it's a timer. So now I know, focus on taking out the Cleansing Flame before it explodes and ignore the Purifying Flame, because really, who cares if it explodes on one of my teammates? While fighting Positron you will periodically see the message "Flames of Prometheus are Active!" which indicates that two special fire imp-like creatures have spawned in the room. Looking from the room entrance, the orange Purifying Flame spawns in the far left corner, and the green Cleansing Flame spawns in the near left corner. Both explode a set time after spawning. The Purifying Flame will try to get close to a player, at which point it will explode, dealing a fair bit of damage, but can be dodged normally.
The Cleansing Flame however, is much more important. If allowed to explode, it will heal Positron fully, regardless of distance or line of sight. The time window is fairly narrow (roughly 10s), and the Flames have pet-level HP, meaning that a low-damage team should take extra care not to allow it to survive. -
This week the team was mostly full before the start time and we actually got a pretty good time considering we weren't speed running it or anything. We even lowered the SFS average for Silver Mantis by almost 8 minutes!

Next up on the List is the Mortimer Kal Strike Force, one of my favorites! This is for level 20+ but it caps at level 40 and it awards the Promethean Badge as well as a Permanent temp power for those lower than level 50. (50's get a Notice of the Well if it's their first time running this) This one is usually pretty quick so I may run the first respec trial as well. So if you're interested meet up in Sharkhead next Sunday, November 6th at 5pm PST/8pm EST! (That's right, next sunday morning is daylight savings time again, so don't forget to adjust!)

A few people were taking screenshots, however I wasn't one of them. Sadly it seemed like most of Union didn't care that they were being invaded, they thought we were there because our server crashed or something.
-
I have Agent 00Zombie in Atlas, ready to stumble about moaning but in a suave sort of way.

Can I send cards that are partially burnt and have numerous puncture holes and say they're from my spine/fire scrapper? I always imagine that quills and blazing aura would make handling any paper product difficult.

Quote:After we have 10 acids everyone will be teleported out of the lab. For clarification, at this point we all re-enter the lab to clear adds?Run #1, Antacid: "Complete the Lambda Sector Trial having acquired 10 Molecular Acids but using none of them."
The thing this badge description doesn't mention is that we also must not collect any Grenades in order for it to award. This means that both teams will head up to the lab to collect Acids. After we have all 10, there will be extra time before Marauder spawns. During this time, we'll continue to clear the lab of adds so that our participation ratings don't drop.
Quote:3. Bringing Psionic damage and minimizing Smashing or Lethal damage. Marauder is more resistant to Psi than any other damage type, and extremely resistant to Smashing and Lethal.
Count me in for this. Both my badgers have these already so I'm free to bring a variety of characters depending on what is needed. -
Completely forgot about posting again. We had a great Tarikoss run this week! The team filled quickly and we even shaved almost 4 minutes off the SFS average. Afterwards a few of us ran a quick Haunted House trial and checked out the extra Easter Egg boss.

Next up on the List is the Silver Mantis Strike Force, which is level 20+ and awards the Air Pirate badge. So if you wanna fight more sky raiders than you can shake a stick at (now that I think of it, that's a weird expression) meet up in sharkhead next Sunday, October 30th, at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!

In contrast, I was on the worst BAF league I've ever seen tonight. It was over on infinity... so if you ever want to see how bad PUGs can get go over there.
-
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but the vampire brooch and the vampire high collar cape can't be used together since high collar capes don't have brooches.
-
I'd gladly join this strike force every day, but I'm betting you'll be running them while I'm at work (I work very late). If you haven't gotten your Master badge by next weekend I'll join.

We filled up fast this week, in fact the team was full 5 minutes before the start time and I didn't have to spam the global channels at all. First off, we tore through Director 11 like he was made of paper-mache and got the Midnight Dodger badge. Then we went on to get the other badges making this a complete Master run of Tin Mage! Also we managed to shave almost 4 minutes off the SFS average time for this strike force! Good work everyone!

Next week we'll be starting back at the beginning of the List with the Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force. This strike force awards the Binder of Beasts badge and is for level 15+, so it's a good opportunity to get some xp for one of your redside lowbies. So if you want to fight off a huge demon in a hellish cavern beneath Cap Au Diable, meet up at Tarikoss next Sunday, October 23rd at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!
If the strike force is over quickly I may run the new Halloween trial a few times for anyone that wants to join. The maximum for that is 4 people so if needed we'll split into 2 teams to do it. -
No no, please, MORE team-up teleporter, but with added functionality. Such as the ability to be queued up for something while running missions.
Also, I have no specific feedback on the halloween event since I currently have no characters on test and the copy tool doesn't work. -
I'd love an all zombie run. Everyone with zombie costumes, and extra points if you're a necro mastermind with a zombie costume!

Quote:Yeah, I plan on gathering a shivan and some nukes as well. As I understand it the best strategy is for someone with ATT to wait outside while the rest of the team goes in to click the glowies, at the last glowie they summon the team outside. At this point pets are summoned and buffed then the team runs in, flies above director 11 (with jetpacks if necessary) and hits him with nukes and ranged attacks while the pets tear him a new one. If the team has enough firepower he should die within 30 seconds or so, before anyone has a chance to get hit by a mine.Excellent.
I would like to be in on that Midnight Dodger badge attempt. I already have my Shivan and nukes in my pocket.
--Curtis
I won't be asking that everyone bring nukes and shivans, though any that do bring them will be appreciated. I will ask that everyone have fly or jetpacks though, which should be easy enough. I think if we have enough ranged damage, or incarnates on the team with Lore, we should be ok. At any rate, we either get it or we don't and then move on with our lives afterwards. -
We started tonight off with a very average Mender Silos Strike Force. I mean that literally since our finish time was EXACTLY what the average time for that SF was. After that it was off to the Rikti War Zone to run Apex where we had the most deaths ever recorded in Strike Force Sundays history! Thanks Battle Maiden!

Next up on the List is the Tin Mage Strike Force, which awards the Alpha Struck badge. We'll be trying for the midnight dodger badge, but not too hard. So if you want to dodge bombs planted by Director 11's imaginary friend, meet up in the Rikti War Zone next Sunday, October 16th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT! -
I did that and got an error message stating that the PM was about 2000 characters too long, so I just started cutting off the bottom till it was small enough. Unfortunately that cut out all the sound driver info and part of the video card info.
